Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Was a nice quiet campsite, just didn't get the weather so the place was like a swimming pool. Toilets are clean which is a plus, but the bothy could do with a deep clean and a bit of heating to help dry clothes off in such times.
Other than that, can't fault it.
Showers and toilets were different VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 The toilets and showers were different, no real privacy. As the toilets/ showers were in an open barn. We really liked the communal area and what it had to offer, layout for the vans/ campers was strange for the electric ones as one electric point for 5 pitches.
Although it was dining water from the taps, it was brown and very off putting.
Site's response
Hi there, thanks for your review. I disagree with your description of the toilets and showers being in an open barn. But we'll add photos of the facilties to this site.
Glad you liked the bothy, it's very popular 🙂
Our setup for EHU works just fine, whether it is conventional or not. There are 4 EHU pitches to the one point and we have extra cables in case some guests don't have a longer one.
All water on site comes from the hills hence the peaty colour, but is UV sterilised and twice filtered.
Many thanks for coming along.
What a location Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 The site is off the beaten track but well worth the journey.
This is an up and coming site so the facilities are basic but more than adequate. Its a small site but we got to speak to most of the people there so it created a friendly atmosphere.
We wish the owners well as they develop the site further. The location is superb.
Site's response
Many thanks for your review and rating, very pleased you liked it here :-)
That's exactly what we aim to keep the place like - friendly and chilled, if basic. So many camping grounds these days have become over-full and commercialised...I constantly hear that people want the opposite, so I will always endeavour to keep this place the way it is.
All the best!
Friday late camping Recommends site
Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Arrived late and didn’t have much choice for pitches so we ended up with a bit of a slant, rustic shower and toilet block but clean and tidy.
Site's response
Thanks for your review Dawn. Glad you would recommend it to others.
Wild camping - with toilets, a shower and recycling Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Great spot if you want the feel of wild camping but with toilets and showers.
The facilities were really clean - I loved the fact the site recycled efficiently with designated bins. The bothy was occupied when we stayed however the kitchen was accessible by a separate external door. Great views and close to Corrieshalloch Gorge.
The road to the campsite is a single track road which can only be driven at low speeds which takes about 15 minutes. Host Chris was friendly and sent an info text prior to our arrival with the code for the gate.
Site's response
Wow, great review - thanks so much for that! Lovely to meet you and of course, I'm delighted you had a good time :-)
Great view! Recommends site
Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 This location is very remote but very peaceful and the view is amazing!
We love the camping here, you can feel the country side vibe. The place is also clean!
Site's response
Thanks so much Angela, glad you had a good time!
Cheap and remote so not for hikers or cyclists Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 As I left at 06:00 in the morning, I tried to drive out quietly, but had to take 3 attempts to get through the lower campsite gateway... not a recommendation for someone pulling a caravan!
The comfort of the croft house living room should not be under estimated as it would have been of enormous benefit 2 day before my arrival when 30mm of rain fell on the West coast, and this is not uncommon.
I did take an evening walk out to the west end of the road, about a mile, and it does have some unique housing. However, a pedestrian 'style' access to the site would be a cheap escape from the imprisonment of the padlocked gate.
Good luck to Chris... pleasing the public is a thankless task!
Site's response
Hey there, thanks for your review, glad to have you come along :-)
Yes, the bothy is great for seeking refuge from the weather (and midges) when not privately booked - it is true that the Highlands can get very wet at any time!
I agree that a pedestrian gate is a good idea, and something I have been mulling over (not sure about "imprisonment" though XD). We provide a gate code for all bookings for guests to come and go as they please.
Just a wee note on another comment - we do clearly advertise that we don't take caravans or anything towed at all, as this wouldn't be suitable for the site.
Also, so many people are very grateful for the site an express it to me, so I will happily disagree that it is a thankless task to please most of the public :-)
Thanks for your review and I hope you enjoy the rest of your travels!
My visit Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 What a place this is! If you're looking for a remote spot, then this is it.
Great facilities and good sized pitches. I was only there for a night but would definitely recommend and will hopefully back again.

Tranquil with stunning views Recommends site
Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Great place to stay, pretty remote so if you have a low riding vehicle be aware, but honestly, couldn't fault a thing. FYI watch out for ticks.
Site's response
Thanks so much, really happy you had a good time 🙂

Great little site Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Lovely remote site, along a track where you may or may not get approached by the Coos!!
Only stayed 1 night, but would definitely go back again, facilities are excellent and the Bothy and kitchen are amazing
Site's response
Delighted you had a good stay, and thanks very much for taking the time to leave a review - it helps a lot!

Lovely location Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 A great location, a quiet and small campsite. Miles away from everything except the hills and lochs.
The facilities in the 'boggy' were all we needed and better than some places we've stayed at. I would recommend.
Site's response
Boggy or bothy? XD Thanks so much, very happy you had a good time here and you're welcome back any time :-)
Lovely quaint campsite! Recommends site
Trailer Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 Beautiful site, a while off the NC500 track but well worth the detour due to lovely service, small site, good facilities and brilliant access for a swim in the loch!
Will 100% be back!
Site's response
Hey, thanks so much for your great review! Really pleased you enjoyed it here and nice to meet you too!
Wonderful stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 Absolutely lovely campsite, my husband and I stayed for two nights when we just needed a break from the real world.
This site is the perfect place to take time away and just relax. It's small and quiet and we utilized the bothy each evening to have a comfy seat and a drink. The site offers an almost wild camping feel, with all the luxuries (toilets and showers) of a normal campsite. 10/10 will be back. My sister has already booked her trip.
Site's response
Thanks so much, so pleased you had a good time! See you again!
Picturesque campsite Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 A beautiful campsite to stay at, perhaps the most beautiful we have stayed at so far.
Toilets and showers were top notch, the latter which got really hot, which was great. Great views and nice neighbours with the sheep, and the bothy was a bonus.
Site's response
Thanks so much, that's brilliant you liked it so much! Yes, bit of a sheep infiltration lately, but solved now with some fence fixing 😁
Thanks so much for the positive review, that's much appreciated!
Beautiful site Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 Stunning site, great facilities with the best showers!
Most relaxing site we stayed at during our whole trip, loved waking up to the sound of the cuckoo's and birds and the sheep just grazing away. This is a site where you can truly relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Thank you Chris and I look forward to staying again in the future and would recommend your site to anyone looking for a truly relaxing site.
Site's response
Thanks so much! I am always so pleased to hear that my guests have such good and relaxing days at the campsite :-)
Thanks for coming along and I hope to see you again!
Awesome Easter stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 We stayed in a tent (not a camper) for three nights over the Easter weekend 2025. We had an awesome time!
The site had everything we needed, it is small so never felt overcrowded, the facilities were clean and the access instructions were sent to us in good time the day before our arrival. We were super lucky with the weather and the views from the site are beautiful.
We had a walk along the loch one evening and walked the coast path from the site.
Site's response
Thank you so much, very glad you enjoyed it here!
Brilliant Stay! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 We had a fantastic stay here. Great, clean facilities. Definitely recommend for NC500 stop over.

Just lovely Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 The perfect remote campsite for intrepid campers! So beautiful and so much night sky. We picked blackberries too.
Loved the honesty box asking for a contribution to setting up this little gem. Especially loved the shelves in the washing up room - identified for campers to leave bits and pieces for other campers!
Well done for creating such a haven.
Site's response
Thanks so much, this makes me very happy to read and more importantly, I am delighted you enjoyed our little campsite so much! Hope to see you back here sometime :-)
Very quiet, loved it Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 Very remote, very quiet.
Site's response
Thanks for your positive review.
Great location, midge fest VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 This site is a great location if you want to go off grid. The facilities are basic but adequate.
Not the owners fault I know, but be warned that the site is a complete midge fest and we were not the only ones that couldn't get off site quick enough.
Site's response
Hi Christopher. You're right, we have no control over midgies or the conditions that make them appear. I feel like your ratings are harsh. If our facilities were "adequate", then why 1 star?
Remote camping experience Recommends site
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 If you'd like a remote stay, this one's for you. Set down a long track lane, the small campsite is only a short walk away from the Loch.
The site had a Bothy which had fridge and washing up facilities. However, you cannot use if it is booked out. The toilets and showers were lovely, however, personally due to skin issues, I found the shower to be too powerful for me and in fact hurt. This was the cheapest campsite we stayed at.
The track was very pot-holey and a challenge in a weighted down vehicle.
Site's response
Hey there, thanks for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed it here! I agree there are a couple of potholes near the entrance; due to our location it's been very difficult to have the correct material for resurfacing the path delivered, but we have finally found someone who will do it and this issue will be rectified very soon.
Remote little site, with quirky facilities Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 An amazing location off the beaten track, with excellent communication from the owner.
Site's response
Hey there, thanks very much for your review and ratings, much appreciated. :-)
