Discover the great outdoors and relax with a cabin or pod glamping holiday at Gorsebank in South West Scotland. Ideal for couples, families and small groups, there is a range of choices, including Glamp Pods, Stargazing Pods, Wigwam Cabins, and Posh Bothie - wood-fired tubs and campfires, adding a touch of magic to the stay. As well as a range of accommodations, there's also have a variety of activities to do on site that is open to all - guests and non guests. From relaxing next-to-the-water's-edge fishing to gliding on a Segway Tour around the meadows and woodland or biking trails in the neighbouring forest. It's all great outdoor fun and adventure for everyone. During the stay, guests can relax, unwind, and embrace the peace and tranquillity of the beautiful surroundings, where horses and sheep graze nearby. This glamping vacation is ideal for those who appreciate nature and desire a rejuvenating experience.

Contained Bliss are ensuite and all other accommodation has their own dedicated toilet and shower block.

Contained Bliss and Posh Bothies have their own kitchen facilities.

Other facilities include a centrally-heated toilet and shower block, washing and drying facilities, a campsite kitchen area (oven hob, microwave, kettle, toaster) and a washing up and dining area.

There is a secure bike store, children's adventure trail, Wi-Fi available, and a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants are within a couple of miles.

2 x Jumbo Pods

The pods sleep 4 people and are heated, have lights, power points, a kettle and a small fridge. You sleep on the carpeted floor on 2 x double pull-out foam chair/beds. Outside, you have a decking area, picnic table and firepit.

4 x Wigwams

Wigwams sleep up to 5 people and are equipped with electricity, lights, heating, a firepit and picnic table along with a kettle, microwave and small fridge.

2 x Posh Pods with Hot Tub

Posh pods sleep up to 4 people and are equipped with electricity, lights, heating, a firepit and picnic table along with a kettle, microwave and small fridge. Outside there is a hot tub and wood-burning chimnea.

2 x Ridge Pods

These ridge pods sleep up to 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 small children. Sleeping is on fold out foam chair/beds. The pods are heated, have lights, power points, a kettle and a small fridge. Outside, there is a picnic table and firepit.

2 x Timber Tents

Sleeping 2 adults or 1 adult along with 2 children in camping cabins. They are well insulated with electricity, light and a heater, but without beds. Outside there is a picnic table and a firepit.

Land Pods

Landpods allow guests to sleep cocooned in a unique little off-grid shelter. Pods have an outdoor wood fired stove, solar powered light and waterproof storage locker for boots and coats.

Boutique Bothy (Sleeps Six)

Max 6 people

Exclusively for groups, this features a fully equipped kitchenette, hot tub and lounge area has sofas plus a TV with Freesat channels. Upstairs there are two double sleeping decks and a bunk bed. Sorry, no dogs.

Boutique Bothy (Sleeps Ten)

Exclusively for groups this features a fully equipped kitchenette, hot tub and lounge area has sofas plus a TV with Freesat channels. Upstairs there are three double sleeping racks, two single beds and a set of bunk beds. Sorry, no dogs.

Site rules and policies

It is a designated quiet site with a no music policy and is not suitable for noisy or boisterous groups.

The site does not accept stag, hen, 18th or 21st birthday groups - other birthday groups on agreement but additional deposits may apply.

At least one guest in a booking must be over 18 years old.

Things to do on site and in the Dalbeattie area

In addition to Segway tours, trout and coarse fishing, and bike hire, guests can explore the farm and meet the resident sheep. From mid-April, visitors can participate in lambing season and help bottle feed the newborns. While on the farm, guests can engage in a Nature Treasure Hunt, searching for animal boards that can be challenging to find. The Adventure Path offers activities for children and adults, including a tyre swing, swamp crossing, slides, see-saw, and plank walking. Children can partake in the Smartphone Trail, using What3Words to locate clue boards around the farm. There is also an hour-long Den Building activity in the woodland area, followed by a relaxing evening spent around the campfire with a BBQ.

Gorsebank is within proximity to Dalbeattie Forest and the Solway Coast, situated only 400 yards away from the Dalbeattie 7 Stanes mountain bike trailhead entrance. For those who enjoy watersports, there are nearby centres, and excellent hill walking trails located nearby, offering stunning views.

Guests looking to enjoy the region's excellent food produce can visit the artisan chocolatiers, craft bakers, butchers, and cheesemakers. Craft brewers and spirit distillers are situated along the coast. The region is rich in history, with castles, motes, and ancient buildings waiting to be explored. The Dumfries region was also the former home of Rabbie Burns. Those with an interest in more recent history can visit museums highlighting the area's lead mining and munitions factories.

Families can enjoy numerous nearby attractions, such as the Ernespie Farm at Castle Douglas, which offers indoor/outdoor play areas, a cafe, and a farm shop. The Cream O'Galloway Ice Cream Parlour near Gatehouse of Fleet offers a nature walk, crazy golf, and ice cream-making demonstrations. Children will love Dalscone Play Centre in Dumfries and The Cocoa Bean Children's Chocolate Factory, which offers hands-on activities. For a unique experience, Dinopark has life-sized dinosaurs, Dino Dig and Mine, and Moat Brae House near Dumfries, the birthplace of Peter Pan, offers gardens and a gift shop.
