A Hidden Gem with Outstanding Facilities
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches May 2026 We stayed for one night to test out a new caravan and came away wishing we could have stayed longer. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome by the friendly and helpful staff, who clearly take pride in the site.
Everything was spotless. The pitches and surrounding areas were fresh and well maintained, and the toilet and shower block was absolutely impeccable – clean, modern, and a credit to the team looking after it.
One of the highlights for us was the lovely café on site along with a pet food shop that sells dog ice cream. The site (and cafe) are dog (and kid) friendly. It was the perfect place to relax and added an extra touch that sets this site apart from many others we've visited.
It's clear that a great deal of care goes into every aspect of the park, and it really shows. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would happily return. If you're looking for a clean, welcoming, and well-run touring park, we would highly recommend it.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches May 2026 very close to M56 so easy access.
Busy rd next to site but didn't bother us much. Bus stop across the road every hour 11 minutes past the hour, bus stop very close to the edge of the Rd, with big lorries passing, but hey, there is a bus straight into Chester bus station, approx 10 - 15 minutes ride. use the side gate on site which takes you down a lane and comes out opposite the bus stop. toilets and showers great.
Overall very happy with site, would use again.
only one negative, Zero recycling on site.
We had a serviced pitch with everything on our pitch.
The cafe was very useful for a coffee or Full English before you set out, closes on Monday, rest of the week 0900 until 1400hrs.

Quiet site, well maintained
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches May 2026 This is a quiet site, which is what we wanted. Staff are friendly and attentive. The facilities are clean.
We thought the pitches were quite close together, but this didn't prove an issue, just a lot of pitches on a small site. We paid for a fully serviced pitch, however, there was no grey water disposal or toilet disposal on our pitch, which we have had before when paying for a fully serviced pitch.
It's nearby to Chester centre, which is a beautiful place to visit. Also, there was a pub about 30 mins walk away, which was good.
Convenient location for motorway and other main routes.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the fully serviced pitch. Just to clarify, toilet waste disposal is available on site at the Elson Point, which is located to the side of the toilet block. There is a large disposal grid immediately through the gate for grey waste.

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Mar 2026 A lovely site to stay on.
Close for Chester Zoo and Chester Town. A bus stop close by. It is right next to a busy road, the noise didn't disturb us.

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Feb 2026 Lovely site, first class facilities. Pitch was fully serviced.
Good location to visit Chester, the zoo, Cheshire Oaks and the Blue Planet, all within easy access. Bus stop five minutes away, also Uber £10/£15. On site cafe brilliant for breakfast good selection and good food. Hope to come back soon to explore more.

First time motorhomers
Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Dec 2025 Excellent site, very close to bus route direct into Chester (10mins) where we visited the Christmas markets.
Toilets and shower blocks excellent and warm (a bonus in the winter months). Been in colder in the summer.
Only negative (which is minor) there is no drive over drain for grey waste. I did speak to someone and they said it's something they were hoping to get sorted. Overall, excellent stay. Will definitely visit again.

Clean, quiet and handy
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2025 We stayed for 2 nights on this site. It was peaceful and very clean. Individual showers are hot, clean and roomy. Toilet block was well maintained.
Very close to Cheshire Oaks and Chester Zoo.
It's a very small site with nothing really to do on site - but that didn't bother us as we'd planned it as a base to visit other places.
We'd stay again!

lovely site
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 just had 2 nights at oakwood with my daughter and granddaughter as a base for Chester zoo. on arrival we was met with a friendly greeting and led to our pitch. the facilities are nice and clean. the showers are clean and spacious and toilets clean and adequate. the only gripe I might have is that there is no setting for the temperature of the shower. the water was oerfect temperature for me but could be a tad too hot for children. apart from that, itcwas only a short 15 minute drive to the zoo and and other attractions and its close to 2 good restaurant/ pubs, aldi , asda local and a petrol station. we will definitely be going back as 2 nights was enough for the zoo visit but there's lots more we would like to see

No grey waste drainage
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 The site was very clean and easy accessible.
The only complaint that I have is that there was no grey waste drain on the pitch, which you usually get on a fully serviced one. I did not have a grey waste container but lucky enough, some lent me one for the duration of my stay.
Apart from that, everything else was perfect.

Our stay
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 The pitch we were on was classed as full service however, there was no waste water point on the pitches and the water and electric points were far away but manageable.
The pitches were really well kept with clean stone pads. The site facilities were average. Good showers but we found that the toilet blocks both male and female were dirty. No reflection on the site but mostly the guests. The toilets remained dirty throughout our stay, despite signs stating that they would be closed for an hour and a half for cleaning.
There was a lot of traffic noise throughout the day and night due to the adjacent busy main roads but we knew that the road was there. Fantastic location to link to Chester and surrounding areas and we had a fabulous welcome when we arrived.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you did not find the shower block up to standard. Unfortunately we cannot police the toilets all day and do rely on guests to let us know if there are any issues so that we can address them straight away. There is a soak away in the hedge row around the perimeter of the site for waste water.

Would recommend
VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 I think the campsite is ideally located as Chester town centre is only 10 minutes away, as well as Cheshire Oaks.
The campsite is clean & well managed, I would definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for a few nights in Chester.

Bit far out
Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 What a lovely site, my only problem was that it was a bit far out of Chester to visit unless you had a car, as it's either the bus, which was not reliable or taxi, which you couldn't do but once because of the expense.
Chester is such a lovely place, I would like to have visit more than once, but definitely would recommend if you had transport.

Rubbish Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 Will not be going back to this site. Booked a fully serviced pitch but only got water and hook up. Some people just let their dogs go free plus no disability toilet.

We are sorry that you were unhappy, our pitches have water and electric at all pitches on clean hardstanding level spacious ground.18 of the pitches have a grey waste drain and the other 7 currently need the waste water container. There are to my knowledge no dogs ever walking free and if this was reported to me then I would have dealt with it straight away. The fully refurbished toilets and showers have wheelchair access and support rails in all showers. We are a small site and do not have a designated disabled toilet but as I have said they are all level with wide access and support rails.
