Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJun 2025

This is truly a little gem. From the moment we booked communication was fantastic. We were greeted by Paul who explained where everything was and shied us around the facilities. He also told us of local places to visit. A really friendly feel to the whole site. The toilets and showers were kept immaculate the whole time. A lovely pub within walking distance, dog friendly and a fabulous walk along the canal just a few metres away from the gate. Highly recommend.

Lovely little site, owner came to greet us on the day we arrived but clear instructions given to our pitch before arrival so no waiting around, just pitch up! Lovely walk along the canal and a pub nearby, although I didn't go it looked lovely and very popular! Great little break away!

First time on this site, found Paul to be very helpful. The site was always kept tidy and the facilities were excellent. Great place to stay if you want to explore the lakes area and a fantastic pub just a short stroll away. The Lancaster canal was right on the door step which was great for walking the dog. Would highly recommend.

Great location as a base with great pub just across the road. Campsite facilities were excellent; clean shower, laundry & kitchen. Paul (site manager) was welcoming and helpful. Easy access from M6 which did mean some road noise, but don't let that put you off. Would cone again.

Site's response

Thank you Kwai. Enjoy your travels and hopefully I'll be able to host you again. Paul

Welcoming campsite, very clean and well maintained. I've even looked at how to nominate for the campsite loo of the year awards! The showers are well worth the 20p (I would do this at every site if they were as good as these). Just across the road from a pub and the bus stop which is twice hourly into Kendal (20min bus ride).

Site's response

Hello Amy I'm glad that your stay with us lived up to the expectation! Paul

This is a lovely clean little site, had an issue with my hook up cable when we got there. Site manager soon had it sorted for me as he had a spare cable that I borrowed. Very friendly and welcoming, great location just outside Kendal next to the canal, nice flat walks along the towpath. Would definitely recommend and would be happy to book again.

Site's response

Hi Shaun, not a problem to lend you an EHU cable to get you powered up again. Enjoy your travels and I'll see you again. Paul.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJun 2025

Lovely site with top spec facilities. Made us feel very welcome, nice walks along the canal and a community pub and also a restaurant within walking distance. Ideally placed for visiting the lakes. We only did one night but would look to stop longer in the future. Nice big pitches, we chose gravel. Very tidy site with 2 amenities blocks. Showers are charged at 20p for 3 mins, worth every penny as they are nice and hot, and have shampoo/conditioner/bodywash available, so make sure you have a stash of 20ps as this is all the meter takes. Each separate toilet has a sink and hand dryer in the room. There is also a hairdryer to use. Washing up area has drainers and washing up liquid. There were laundry facilities but didn't use. Is on a slope on some pitches, so take levellers, we were fine. Dog friendly and my pooch loved watching the ducks roaming around.

Site's response

Hi Heather, yes, the ducks are quite entertaining to watch! Thank you for staying with us recently and leaving such a lovely review of your time here. Paul

This campsite exceeded my expectations. Easy to find from the motorway; we were made to feel very welcome on arrival, as were the dogs! And the facilities were the best we have had on a campsite. Just remember to have your 20p coins ready for the shower which you can get from the campsite reception.

Site's response

Hi Mairi Thank you for becoming another returning customer at Little Acre. It was lovely to host you again. Paul

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Small PitchJun 2025

This was our first overnight with a camper van and both the location and facilities were excellent for us. We arrived after closing time but had clear email directions on how to find the site and our pitch. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless and in great shape. Need a 20p coin for a shower. The nearby canal towpath was a lovely, quiet route for a walk or run. Overall very happy with our stay and would go back.

This is the most peaceful site ever! Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's beautiful and tranquil. There's a lovely dog walk by the canal, a pub across the road, what more do you need! Paul was very welcoming and keeps the site in perfect condition.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJun 2025

Great little site with really good, clean facilities. The site manager was very friendly, and the Crooklands Hotel was very close for a pleasant drink. Had a great 6k run along the canal in the morning, a really beautiful setting, turn left on joining and it's about 3k on the towpath to the end, then run back again!

Site's response

Hello Simon Thank you for staying with us recently and leaving such a lovely review on campsites.co.uk. Since the canal towpath was renovated to a proper hard surfaced area, there are a lot more people enjoying a run, jog or stroll along its length. Paul
