VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Great location right next to the river, Yvonne and Richard were friendly and helpful. Portaloos well looked after and shower clean - a great night away!

Loved the setting right br the river, its was brilliant watching the Sand Martins and a Kingfisher. Richard got some wood for a fire. pit
really blissful time. It was convenient to the Hay Festival. The one shower was excellent. owners super friendly. The only criticism were the very basic toilets and not emptying the toilets often enough, or providing enough loo roll which I hope they will remedy soon!!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 An idyllic location on the banks of the River Wye. My 7 year old had a fabulous time playing with other children, swimming/paddleboarding in the river and chasing Richard’s buggy….
Amenities are basic, with portaloos, basic washing facilities and a large shower but this is reflective of the price. The hosts looked after us wonderfully all the way through. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a proper camping experience. My little one definitely wants to go back again….

Medium Tent - Locksters View Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Beautiful campsite sat on the river, very clean facilities which stayed clean over a bank holiday weekend - which is no easy feat. We made use of the canoe trip offered to campers which was well worth it, as well as going for a swim in river. Very accommodating hosts. Will definitely return!
Amazing
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Couples Only) Aug 2025 The site and the owners are absolutely amazing! The couple pitches are perfect—you get a bit of privacy while still being separate from the family pitches where the kids are. There’s also the option to rent paddle boards or canoes, which is a great bonus. We will definitely be coming back!
The only small downside from our experience is that there’s no hot water available for washing up. Cleaning oily or dirty dishes in cold is not easy.
A hidden gem
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 An absolute hidden Gem on the River Wye!
Stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. It's crazy to see some of the reviews stating the "basic facilities" - if you want hotel facilities, book a hotel.
The showers were perfect and despite the campsite being full I never queued and the £1 machine is a perfect way to ensure little wastage of water - wish everyone did this.
Toilets were as expected and cleaned 2-3 time a day. Pitches are extremely well looked after.
Will 100% be back - we had the best anniversary weekend and had dinner right next to the river last night.

The river offers excellent opportunities for paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing.
We will certainly visit again.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Couples Only) Jun 2025 What a beautiful place. We had the couples only pitch and I can say it was really worth the extra money. Luckily for us, no one else had it booked so we had the whole place for our self.
Nice and quite with nice walks around the hills. We also had a swim in the river which was amazing.
Definitely recommended.

The accommodation was great just what we needed. If you're offered breakfast take it! Very yummy and hot! Richard and Yvonne are lovely people very welcoming and friendly. If you need anything both are very happy to help.
Place has clean hot showers. Are accommodation came with are own portable toilet which was great.
It's just overall a lovely place to go and chill out and relax away from the world. 100% recommend if you want to be next to the water.
Peaceful stay
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 We came camping as a couple in search of a peaceful, quiet stay away and that's exactly what we got!
We had beautiful views of the River Wye and we enjoyed watching the birds and cows throughout the day. The campsite is set on a working farm, yet it was very easy to navigate the areas we needed. The shower was very clean and temperature was just right. The toilets are portaloos, when we came there was only one unlocked , but this may be due to the low demand on that weekend.
The owners are a lovely couple who are very friendly, down to earth and easy to chat to. We would not hesitate to come back again. It is refreshing to see a campsite that is nestled in the middle of a beautiful area with owners who give such a personal, warm approach.

Nice stay but wouldn’t stay again Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 This was an Easter weekend stay, we stayed Friday-Monday.
The location is very out in the sticks and peaceful, the river is very close to the tent pitches and you can see the cows and sheep onsite. You can go wild swimming,which was very nice. There are portaloos, which are kept clean. The washing up area is a sink, however, the taps on the sink don't work and you have to use the water from the tap which is cold.
You have to pay a pound for the shower which allows you 4 minutes, however it didn't warm up for around a minute. The pitches are also down a slight hill from where you have to park your cars and the portaloos and this was very slippery and muddy when wet.
Overall, it was a nice stay, however I don't think we will be going back again.

From the moment we arrived, everything was well-organized and welcoming. The campsite was clean, spacious, and tucked beautifully into the natural surroundings—perfect for a peaceful retreat. Staff were very friendly and answered all our queries.
We highly recommend the site and we will definitely visit again.
