Lower Lacon Caravan Park is family and dog friendly, well established since the 1970s and open all year round. The park offers excellent facilities for rallies and groups, along with something to tempt all guests - with a bar, cafe and crazy golf on site. It also has a heated outdoor pool and an entertainment venue.
About Lower Lacon Caravan Park
The park is a family affair, in the hands of the Shinglers and offers 57 acres set just a mile from pretty Wem and within 10 miles of buzzing Shrewsbury for those who want to see a little more of Shropshire. Lower Lacon has a rich history, once a munitions and distribution depot in WWII, and covered by the army in 3 feet of hardcore. For tents and tourers, there are grass pitches with and without electric. Stay on an electric hardstanding pitch here and you'll know that it was once the concrete floor of a Nissen hut for the army (a number of which have since been topped with tarmac) and these welcome caravans, motorhomes and even large RVs. Hassle free and cosy breaks are possible in the park's insulated pods. Bring everything you'd need for camping - including an airbed - and enjoy excellent shelter from the elements, with heating, electric and a fridge for your food and drink inside.

Site facilities include two toilet blocks, free hot showers and two laundry rooms. There is a licensed supermarket on site Windmill Lounge Bar (adults only in summer) with adjoining childrens marquee. Guests also have access to the indoor JAKKS barn with entertainment including family discos and an excellent bar in the summer. A cafe is also available (open in high season and weekends only in low season, closed for winter), an outdoor heated pool (open May to mid September, weather permitting). The park also provides crazy golf and a secure entry barrier.

Things to do on site and in the Shrewsbury area
When you're not playing a round of crazy golf or making a splash in the pool at the park you can be out soaking up history and enjoying a tasty bite in Shrewsbury.
Burn off any indulgence with a walk on the impressive Shropshire Way after or get the kids all excited, meeting the alpacas, pigs, ducks and more to be found on site.
A boat ride on the local canals is a great way to relax or you can feed your curiosity with a trip around the museums at Ironbridge Gorge.
The Severn River is another tranquil and beautiful spot to explore too.
