Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches May 2026

This camping location suited me perfectly. My tent pitch was ideal in so far as I wanted to feel as though I was isolated in a forest, and I did. This may not suit everybody though. Toilet facilities are a little basic, with half a dozen 'stand alone' chemical loos available, but there are no showers and although there are washing up facilities (with hot and cold running water) they might be considered a little 'rustic'. Having said all this, I thought it was brilliant and I'm confident that many types of camper would love it. The pitches feel large and surrounded by trees, all the pitches that I saw had ground based fire pits ready for kindling and logs (available from the reception) to be ignited, and they also have campervan pitches. There is a disc golf course in the forest and also what appears to be a fairly new sauna and plunge pools. When I arrived, I was met by Andy, who was very helpful and friendly. I was given a map together with information regarding location of facilities and the local pub (around 5 minutes walk from my pitch). I get the impression that additions and upgrades are constantly being applied. It is not the cheapest camping experience that I have had, particularly considering the facilities available, but I would go back at the drop of a hat just to have that 'almost wilderness' experience. If you fancy a site that's a little different to the usual, I would certainly recommend giving this a try.

Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2025

What a lovely little campsite. We had a small tent pitch, but this still had plenty of space for us. The pitches are all nicely spaced out and there is a sense of privacy with pitches secluded amongst the woodland. Children are well catered to, with a lovely open green for ball games and a number of go karts dotted around for the children to use. Great little reception/shop, where we were able to buy a small bag of wood for £5 which was perfect for one night and making memories toasting marshmallows as the sun came down. Just a shame the only toilets are portaloos. Having said that, they were kept as clean as could be expected. Our stay was short but very sweet and we will definitely try this site again for a longer break.

Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Jul 2025

My 8 year old daughter and I & dog! Enjoyed a one night stay here, we chose it because we wanted to camp quietly in a woodland and it didn't disappoint. It was simply a space in the woodland with established campfire spot. We received a warm welcome and as it was quiet, we were able to choose our pitch. We were able to buy logs on site including a handy starter pack with firelighters, kindling and matches. We only brought a rucksack each with essential gear but a trolley was available to cart stuff from car to pitch. Facilities were basic (portaloos though running water at a sink) but clean. Loads of space to walk around the woods. I thought the price was a touch steep but that might be because we booked very last minute (on the day).
