Lovely campsite! It sits within a 10 minute walk of Beddgelert which is a great little town for exploring. Lots of walks nearby too. The site has a lot of things to do and the pitch was massive. We really enjoyed our stay. The only negative I could say was that the toilets were nice when we arrived on the Friday and by Sunday, they were really smelly and unclean. That's the only thing I could say about the site that was negative. Still recommend going, just maybe when it's quieter and not in peak season.

It's in an amazing location and there is a really good walk to the nearby town. We will definitely be back, especially if we can stay on the same site, D2. Thanks.

This must be the perfect base to explore the stunning mountain scenery of Snowdonia and sample the picturesque delights of Beddgelert, a 10 minute stroll away. There are spacious pitches with stunning views to suit everyone, from campers in tents, to motorhomes/ caravans with electricity and water taps provided. The two facility blocks are well planned and very well maintained. Free WIFI is available, it seems more than adequate to cope with the demands of a large site. Cae Du's biggest asset is it's location, it is stunning. The site takes full advantage of its river, village and mountain surroundings, without being a blot on the landscape. The staff are brilliant and take the time to ensure that everyone gets the most out of their time at Cae Du.

A beautifully-located campsite with well-kept and spacious pitches. Lots of lovely green space and specific areas to sit and enjoy the views, not a campsite that is trying to cram as many campers in as possible. Staff are so helpful and accommodating. I marked the facilities and cleanliness as lower due to age however I'm sure this is a project that will be modernised in time as campsite is newly owned. Cleanliness was good and so hard to keep on top of the insects that this location naturally attracts! Beddgelert is a stunning village and so well-situated for exploring Snowdonia. Rachel (manager) was very helpful and accommodating and lots of useful information re: things to do in the office and the barn. Lots of different areas in the site to camp depending on your needs: backpacking, groups, families! We will definitely be back!

Had an amazing break in Snowdonia in our Motorhome. We chose to stay at Cae Du because of its proximity to Snowdon and surrounding areas. The campsite has everything you would want, clean, tidy with a wonderful welcoming & helpful team. There is a little village which is a 10 min walk away with shops, cafes & pubs and a bus service to Snowdon routes. We had an amazing stay - all facilities were fantastic. Thank you for the tip on how best to approach the site avoiding the wrong narrow road! If there is one critique to be made is that the Wi-Fi is a little intermittent - due to number of users perhaps, but we go to be in the wilds I suppose, not to surf, lol!

After a very rainy first night, the very helpful staff relocated us, they had offered earlier but we were settled. The site was newly opened and they had no knowledge of flooding pitches. A month worth of rain fell in one night. Very good staff could not have helped more. We then unfortunately had a car break down before we left after two lovely days in this stunning area and they were really helpful. Looked after us, made us a brew and let us and two dogs camp in office to wait for the AA. Stunning location, lots to do. Very clean, quiet campsite. 5 stars from me and company.
Loved it

A stunning location, perfect for all our planned activities. Facilities good with hot showers with decent water pressure. Friendly staff, grounds well maintained, tidy and clean. Firepits are allowed and can be rented if needed. Large site with lots of different areas, so has a small site feel. Would definitely recommend.
Very tranquil, amazing views and good facilities

Loved our time! Our site was spacious and despite the site seemingly full you never felt busy and facilities didn't result in queues. The weather whilst we were there was very changeable - lots of rain, drizzle, sunshine, humid with midges and cold! There are just 2 things that I think would really elevate the site (especially given then likelihood of bad weather!). Firstly, some dryers for clothes - being damp/wet can really take the joy out of a day! Secondly, the ability to borrow a table - there are a few dotted around the campsite but would love to be able to borrow one at the site. Other than that, the highlights! Wi-Fi! The shower pressure and temperature, the ANPR entrance give your comfort, the polite and helpfulness of the staff! Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay with you but the last night wasn't so good 😕 Think there were a few lads in the tent not far from us who were noisy until about 12:30ish, laughing and joking, so we didn't get much sleep at all.
Site's response
Hi Robert, I am very sorry to hear you had a bad evening on your last night of the holiday. Please note, we have wardens on call 24/7 which are there for any late calls. I am sorry we couldn't help on the evening. We really hope to see you again.

This a great site situated just a 10 minute walk from Beddgelert village. The site has loads of room for tents vans and motorhomes with and without electric hookup. The staff were really friendly and the amenities were really clean. There is a laundry room to wash and dry your clothes. There is also a shower and toilet block and washing stations. WIFI on the camp is a god send if you have kids with phones/tablets etc, as the mobile signal is non existent. Location is great for going on walks to Beddgelert, if you want to eat out or get a drink in the local pubs. The Sygun Copper Mine is also a 10 minute walk Just a little further on is Llyn Dinas Lake, where you can wild swim, kayak or paddle board. You are also close to several starting points if you want to walk up Snowdon. The only thing missing in my opinion is a shop on site for things like milk, bread, etc. This isn't a deal breaker, as you can go into the village and get what you need. Overall a great campsite and will definitely visit again.
Site's response
Thank you for your review Lee, it means a lot to us. Glad you enjoyed the village being so close. Thank you for the suggestion of the shop. Unfortunately, this isn't in our plans at the moment. We like to support the local village and send our customers to the village shop. We sell our essential marshmallows for campfires though :-) Thanks again, Cae Du!

Cae Du Campsite is beautifully located in a sunny valley with gorgeous hills all around. I had a swim in the fast flowing, clean river adjacent to the campsite. The pitches are spacious and offer both shade and sun. There is a lovely short walk to nearby Beddgelert with cute restaurants and shops (and delicious ice-cream). Staff was very friendly. The only negative feedback would be the urine smell in the ladies' bathroom, it appeared that perhaps the toilets and showers were not cleaned as often, or as thoroughly as I would like. However, that would be an easy fix and I would otherwise very much recommend this site.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time for leaving such a lovely review. Good on you for taking a dip in the river - you can't feel much fresher can you? :-) I am happy to say we have now sorted the toilet situation. Our plumber saved the day and our toilets are back smelling lovely again. It was a drainage problem which has now been resolved. Thank you and hope to see you again soon.

We had a wonderful stay. It was a last minute decision to go camping and I booked the pitch the night before, but wow was I so happy with our choice. To start, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful when we arrived. We were then given a map and highlighted where our pitch was. The pitches are such a great size, and in a beautiful location. We got our tent set up and then went straight for a walk on the riverside walk around the camp which is lovely. Another thing we were impressed with was the facilities on site the shower/toilet block was clean and the water was lovely and warm. The site is also dog friendly which is great. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back.
Site's response
Thank you for such a lovely review Faye, it really does mean so much to us. We have worked so hard on the riverside walk so we are thrilled to hear that was the first thing you did and you enjoyed it :-) We shall look forward to seeing you later.

Overall, a lovely site. Good size pitches and nicely laid out. My understanding, after speaking with the locals, is that the site only re-opened this year under new ownership. What they have done so far is brilliant, and the up keep is great. Only a few suggestions would be for the size of site, the shower and toilet facilities need updating and more of them. It was OK when we were there as not busy, but dread to think what it would be like in busy periods. Definitely need updating though. On site shop with basics would be good. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the location is brilliant.
Site's response
Thank you for a lovely review Patrick, it means so much to us. You hear correctly, we re-opened under brand new ownership on the 1st March 2024! Thank you for your feedback as we can evaluate all suggestions at the end of the year. In relation to an on-site shop, this isn't something we are considering as we are supporting the local village and send our customers there for goods. Hopefully see you again at Cae Du!
