Pencwm Escapes is a small, family friendly, off-grid campsite in the Welsh countryside with ten spacious, non electric camping pitches for tents. About the site

Set in the Preseli Hills, this peaceful, back-to-basics escape is ideal for families and nature lovers. Kids will love building dens, swinging from trees, and exploring the woodland fairy door trail. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is just a 30 minute drive away, or you can unwind on the sandy shores of Poppit Sands Beach (30 minutes). The site offers ten spacious 10m x 10m non electric grass pitches for tents. For families wanting to stay together, you can also book three adjoining pitches, ideal for a large tent or two smaller ones, so everyone can camp side by side. Guests can book pre-pitched tents equipped with camp chairs, a small table, a mini gas canister, crockery, matches, and a washing-up bowl. However, please bring everything else you would usually pack for camping. Nearby, you'll find several charming market towns such as Cardigan (30 minutes), Narberth (30 minutes), and Newport (35 minutes), each with independent shops, food spots, and a great taste of Welsh culture. Up to two dogs per pitch are welcome to join your stay. BBQs are not permitted, but fire pits are allowed!

Onsite, guests will find compost toilets, hot showers, a washing up area, a communal freezer and a charging point. There is also a small honesty shop for firewood.

Staying on the site, guests willl find a rainy day tent with board games, toys and weekly craft sessions.

The Crymych Arms Inn is a ten minute drive from the site and serves a range of hot meals and cold beverages. For those everyday shopping essentials, a ten minute drive will take you to a local Morrisons Daily or Glandy Cross Convenience Shop.

Pencwm Escapes is our dream come to life - a place for muddy knees, starry skies and screen-free smiles. We wanted to create somewhere families could truly unwind, let the kids be wild, and enjoy simple pleasures like a rope swing or a marshmallow by the fire. Every fairy door, every den, every wheelbarrow tells a story - and we love watching new memories being made here.

Grass pitches measuring 10m x 10m without electric. Suitable for tents only. Car parking by pitches is not allowed.

3 x Non Electric Family Grass Tent Pitches

Max 6 people

Book up to three non electric grass pitches as one group to bring the whole family together. Each pitch can accommodate one large tent or two small tents. Tents must be at least 6m apart.

Things to do on site and in the Whitland area

Castell Henllys Iron Age Village is just a 25 minute drive away and offers a historical experience and scenic walking trails. Llys-y-frân Reservoir is 30 minutes from the site, ideal for peaceful walks, picnics, paddleboarding, and mountain biking.

For a fun filled family day out, head to Newport Beach or Poppit Sands Beach (30 minutes), or explore Tenby North Beach (45 minutes) and Newgale Beach (50 minutes).

The charming seaside town of Tenby (45 minutes) is home to attractions like Heatherton World of Activities, Tenby Castle, and Manor Wildlife Park. Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo is also nearby, just a 35 minute drive, and perfect for keeping kids entertained.

If you're up for a challenge, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is only 30 minutes away, offering hiking trails, bike routes, and plenty of opportunities for water sports.
