Tyne Cornel family stay Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 The only real negative is the showers in the men's. My teenage son didnt want to have a shower due to there being no door for privacy just a thin shower curtain. Wouldn't cost much to replace with doors. Campsite immaculate, staff where a friendly and attentive. Location very beautiful by the river. The milkshake /milkmachine was a big hit! We would stay again 😊

Medium Tent - Fully Serviced Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Great stay in August, we came with our two young children the site was well looked after - bind were emptied continuously throughout the day and they also cleaned the facilities everyday.
There is a main block of showers toilets and wash up area with laundry room. Additional wash up area and toilets is another block of facilities on the tent pitches. The main block facilities were dated however fantastically clean.
There is a picturesque river which runs by the campsite, we saw multiple parties using their kayaks - which looked like fun.
Would recommend to all lovely staff, they had little Italy pizza truck come one night which was a huge hit with our two!

Medium Tent - Fully Serviced Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Just got home from a wonderful stay here. The staff, onsite shop, location and facilities are lovely we will definitely be coming back to stay.
I would just say the disabled toilet/ shower room needs a bit of tlc. If wasn't for that would have been a 5star.
We all had such a great time drove a few mins into Bala and went swimming in the lake lots of memories made these last few days. Thanks for having us 🙏

Great stay at this campsite
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Had a lovely 5 day stay, our location to the amenities on site was great, level pitches and made for easy tent put up.
Some nice walks for the dog, everything was good, although on first night there was an issue with the heating and the shower was barely warm, but red hot thereafter.
The camp shop is limited and the milk machine was waiting to be filled so was unable to get milk that day over the weekend, but would recommend this site, lovely owners/staff.
It's a yes from me.
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 The owners were lovely. The campsite was quiet, even when busy. The facilities were kept pristine and the showers were nice and warm. The campsite was not illuminated at night so the night sky was pretty impressive. Proper milk was available from a refrigerated dispenser. There was plenty of space for each tent pitch even when the campsite was busier at the weekends. I thoroughly recommend this campsite.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Great site. Only downside was no hot water in one wash up area and the number of people insisting on having fire pits, despite government advice and all signs asking you not to due to drought conditions.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 This is a lovely site, less than 10 minutes from Lake Bala. The wardens were very friendly and pleasant and the site is kept very clean.
My only criticism concerns the freezer which, despite it being mentioned for freezer blocks on the website, was absolutely crammed full of frozen food! I've never come across this on a site before. Who on earth takes packets of frozen food (including peas) on a camping trip?
I don't use electric hook up so always rely on being able to refreeze my blocks in site freezers. This was impossible to do on this site.
Would stay again!
Medium Tent - Fully Serviced Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Fabulous stay at Tyn Cornel, the site was brilliant in a great location right on the river with a lovely walk and 10 minute drive from Bala. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again.
Lovely location VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Beautifully positioned by the river and a great base to explore the surrounding areas.
The site itself was very pleasant and well laid out. Unfortunately, the facilities need a little more attention. There were only 3 women's shower cubicles for the whole site and they were very small, making it rather difficult to get dry and changed. A larger cubicle or another area with space to get dry and dressed is needed. The showers themselves had very poor pressure and the shower/toilet block had lots of mould and dirt.
There was one small freezer for the entire campsite. As we had a non electric grass pitch, we were reliant on using ice blocks and a cool box, but the freezer was packed full of frozen ready meals and other food, so we couldn't use it. A freezer just for ice packs or a larger freezer would be much better.
Overall, with a few improvements, it would be a great place to return to.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 The site was very nice with spacious electric grass pitches and a satellite toilet and washing up area, no long walks to the loo! It also had a recycling area to the back.
There is a spacious field for non electric which is next to a fast flowing river, banked by trees and a fence. There is also a separate caravan and camper field, with hard standings located next to the main facilities, including toilets and accessible toilet, showers, washing up area and a laundry, reception and shop and recycling area.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, they regularly cleaned the facility throughout the day and we had no complaints about cleanliness. The biggest disappointment was the showers, the gents showers were too few and small with a curtain rather than doors. The only dry space for your clothes was shared benches with hooks above of which there was only 2 for the 5 showers, I personally thought this was not ideal for a family campsite. The ladies showers were very small and hard to keep stuff dry though they did have doors. The site is dog friendly throughout.
The location was perfect for us right next door to the white water sports centre and close to a lot of attractions in Snowdonia National Park which has the most stunning scenery and landscapes.

We were able to get last min booking with early check-in to accommodate for my disabilities... Just absolutely perfect from start to finish and super friendly 👌
Facilities we're impeccable clean, and the campsite was idyllic. Will definitely be returning and making a regular.
