About the site

This Monmouthshire pub site is great for walkers looking for a stopover and families searching for a summer getaway to the great outdoors. Set on the edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, the site is within easy reach of lots of trails including the Offa's Dyke path, just 20 minutes away. For campervans, trailer tents, roof tents, tourers and motorhomes, there are 16 amp electric hook up pitches. Simply choose between grass or hardstanding! The friendly onsite pub has an extensive menu of food and drink, so what better way to end a day of hiking around the Brecons than with a tasty home-cooked meal? The pub also hosts evening entertainment on weekends, including live singers and quiz nights. Enjoy stunning countryside views from your pitch with surrounding farmland and vistas of the Black Mountain! There is an access gate for keen walkers who wish to walk along the river through the farmland, this is only there for the park visitors and public access is not permitted. You'll also be ten minutes from Abergavenny, the foodie hub of Monmouthshire. Or, if you are looking for a bit more adventure, head to the Brecons or the Offa's Dyke Path, just a 20 minute walk away. Please note, the site is quiet outside of peak holidays and bank holidays, but like all beauty spots and popular destinations, it does get busier during the school holidays and when the sun is shining. Fires are not permitted but BBQs are allowed as long as they are raised from the ground. Dogs are welcome, just please ensure that they are kept on a lead at all times and picked up after so the open space can be used by everyone.

The Rivers Edge is open from 01/03 to 31/10. Pitches from £20/night for 2 people.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesOct 2025

Lovely site, pitches are of good size, on site restaurant was very good as was the food. Nice and peaceful for our 2 night stay. Access is very good, perfect for larger campervans and motorhomes. Only small complaint would be the toilet/shower blocks need updating. All working fine just needed a little tlc.

Site's response

Thank you Ryan, for taking the time to review your time here. Appreciate your feedback regarding our shower building and rest assured, we do have plans in place to renovate it to a much better standard for 2026. We are truly sorry if this impacted your stay in any way.

A note from the site themselves...

We continue to make fantastic improvements to this much-loved holiday park, always with our guests in mind. While the journey is never truly complete, we are constantly looking for ways to enhance every part of the park whenever we can.

To bring more colour and life to the surroundings, we've planted mature trees throughout the park, along with nearly 1,500 hedge plants to provide additional shade and privacy across our intimate setting.

These are just some of the steps we've taken, and we genuinely hope you can see our pride and passion for this lovely venue, which we have restarted from scratch and turned into a beautiful, relaxing place to enjoy your downtime.

We are looking forward to welcoming you!
