Oakwood Farm Touring Park is a spacious touring site located just ten minutes from Chester, on the edge of the Wirral. You'll find fully-serviced hardstanding pitches for tourers and motorhomes. Located just off the main road, it's convenient to explore the Cheshire Oaks, the Wirral, and a gateway to North Wales. Easy reach to Liverpool and Manchester too. Dogs are also welcome to join you!

Made for the perfect stop for our family tour. Easy to book, easy to find and gain access to, even after hours, and is close to shops and entertainment. Very clean and fresh looking! The pitches are large and spaced and very well kept. Immaculate facilities and quiet. Even being close to a road the campsite itself was peaceful and safe for kids to play out. Great comms throughout booking and run up to ensure we had everything we needed.

Fantastic site, very well maintained very clean toilet and shower block. Excellent location for a break. Only downfall is constant road noise, non-stop wagons, cars and buses all night. Very difficult to get a good night sleep.

Great place to stay. It was clean and very well maintained. Pete was a great host. The only thing I would add would be another stool in the shower rooms & more hooks to hang this on whilst showering. The luxury would be to have a hair dryer in the toilets.

A very clean and tidy site. The toilets and showers look fairly new and were clean. The café on site is worth a visit. The local train station was 5 minutes drive and it was a 13 minute train journey into Chester. It is close to a main road, so there is a bit of road noise but didn't bother us. All in all, we would return again.

Perfect yet again. The new facilities are superb and the staff are very friendly, we are looking forward to returning. Can I also add that Fox's tea rooms on the site has excellent food and very friendly staff.

Arrived late after a long, difficult travel at 1:30am. Wasn't the best of weather and was expecting breakfast at 8am on Sunday morning, only to be told it was a 9am opening time due to wet weather. We were all hoping that we could at least have a brew or dry ourselves off. Sadly, did not think to do this, even if cafe door was open. Had to depart for an activity so can't really say much more about this place.

Had a real nice stay! We had things booked for the next day so it was a real early start. There was a really loud couple on site until 3am, so hardly had any sleep, but a fantastic site.

The location was great for us wanting a one night stopover. Short bus ride into Chester from right outside the park. There is quite a bit of road noise but it didn't particularly bother us. We were met on arrival by a lovely lady who was very helpful and gave us all the information to get to Chester. Wi-Fi on the park was a bonus as many charge extra for this. It was a quiet and friendly site, with a mixture of camper vans, tents and caravans. The only downside were the toilets and showers. There is a new block of showers but this was not finished when we went so was not open. The only available shower is in the toilet block which I didn't find very clean so didn't use. We just used the one in our van. I understand there have been delays in the new block which was a shame. We would stay again though as the location suited us.

Nice, clean, site. People are really friendly. No ladies or gents on toilet doors so not to sure which one to go in, men were going in ladies and vice versa so didn't use them. Road very busy, but quietened down at night.

Great base camp, there's a local bus which runs every hour into Chester which we used and was super friendly! The busy roads either side are very noisy at night, and if sleeping in tent/awning expect to be woken up by loud lorries! The toilets and shower block, one shower in men's and one in women's with two loos, is not an actual block! The cleanliness was not great, but usable if desperate! We got the impression there's a new block of showers and toilets coming, as there's a new unused building which looks like it should be showers/toilets. There's nothing in walking distance so if you like a drink you're stuck in one place! There is a cafe on site, which was lovely, but very expensive! There's also a pet shop on site which was amazing for our spoilt pooch!

As you say in your review, we are a great base camp for the local and surrounding areas like the Wirral, Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales which does however mean we are subject to road noise. We are in the process of building a new shower block which will be open in the next few weeks. We are sorry you did not find the toilets up to standard, they are cleaned thoroughly daily and we encourage guests to inform us of any problems. This is a neat, clean, peaceful site. Large hard standing pitches surrounded by manicured grass with EHU and water provided for each pitch. Secure site, protected by electronic gates with entrance and exit controlled by code. Toilets, showers and washing up facilities do need upgrading, though. Only a short drive into the beautiful and interesting historic city of Chester. Shop, Greggs and Starbucks only a five minute walk away. Cafe on site, but this is not open on Mondays.

Lovely little campsite. Tents are on grass, in the middle of the site. Large pitch sizes with electric and water. Staff very friendly, toilets are basic but very clean. Looks like they are building a new shower block which would be a great asset to the site. Yes, you can hear the traffic at night from the busy road behind the campsite, but it didn't bother us at all, we slept really well. Dog walk straight off the campsite and Chester is only about a 7min drive away. We will definitely return.

Excellent experience. The only downside is if you don't like traffic noise, it's not for you. There is a main road and motorway nearby, I'm deaf as a door post so it was OK for me! Café onsite did a great breakfast.

Unfortunately we can not control the traffic noise (although we have tried to minimise where possible, extra fencing, shrubs) and we do advise guests of our location, ideally situated for Chester/ North Wales/ Liverpool so some road noise is to be expected. The food is excellent in the onsite Café, the breakfast is a great choice, glad you enjoyed it!

Lovely site, great staff, very helpful. Easy access to cycle path and bus stop is opposite if you want to visit Chester. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely little site. The lady that greeted us was very friendly. Toilet/shower block was clean and lovely and warm, which was a nice touch at this time of year (February). We had read that the site was quite noisy with road noise but, although road noise was present, we didn't find it disruptive or excessive. All in all, a great little site and at £30 a night, very good value for money in the current climate. Bus ride to Chester was £2 each and took about 15 mins. We would definitely stay here again 👍

Pleasant place to stay. The road is very noisy, we didn't sleep well. Felt it was too pricey at £30 a night with all that noise from the road. Breakfast at the onsite café was nice but felt it was also a bit pricey.

Very nice site. Pitches are nice and level and the site seems well looked after. Nice, clean café, the food we ate was decent. Only criticism, and it's a very small one, would be the noise from the adjacent main road.

Nice area for camping, although the ground was very hard compared to when I went here in the 2023 summer. Unfortunately traffic noise is constantly going 24/7 so I won't be coming again. It is stated though on the sites listing.
