About Bakesdown Farm Camping

Bakesdown is a beautiful 30 acre farm of small fields, big hedges and wild spaces. Each holiday space is well spaced in a different, secluded field - choose from Exclusive Camping, Exclusive Too and the Great Orchard Cabin. Exclusive Camping is a two acre field with two large mown areas with fire pit sites, private shower and compost toilet huts and lots of space just for you! This area is great for camper vans and can accommodate up to eight people. Exclusive Too also offers two large mown areas with fire pit sites, private shower and compost toilet huts, but with the addition of a lovely, fully-equipped kitchen hut. All you need to stay here is your tent! Great Orchard Cabin is a hand-built wooden cabin with a large living area, wood burner, a double bedroom and a children's room with two single beds (a dividing curtain separates the two rooms). There is a covered porch along the front of the cabin with seating. Alongside you'll find a fully-equipped kitchen hut, shower and compost toilet huts and fire pit. The site has been managed for biodiversity since it opened and from low, flailed hedges and over-grazed fields, the land has evolved to become the rambling green spaces that can be seen today. The meadows, mature trees and hedges here support a wide range of bugs, birds and small mammals. Listen out for the spectacular dawn and dusk chorus and look for the barn owl and bats hunting in the evenings. Each pitch has been carefully set within this nature space for a holiday that is comfortable, restorative and wild.

Bakesdown Farm Camping is open from 05/04 to 23/09.

A note from the site themselves...

Bakesdown has been the home to our extended family since 2007 and we have spent these years learning about and nurturing the land.

We are so proud to watch our bird and insect life grow as the hedges widen and meadows diversify and it is a pleasure to share these beautiful wild spaces with our guests.

These are camping spaces created by campers, we understand that the perfect holiday space should allow you to live absolutely comfortably whilst feeling absolutely outdoors.

Glamping Cabin - Great Orchard CabinJun 2023

Bakesdown Farm is a beautiful wild area, the cabin is very clean and the facilities are great. The gas shower is excellent! There is no WiFi or electric in the cabin and is a perfect place to reset and get back to basics. Kitchen cabin has all you need and more. Highly recommended!

I stayed in the delightful cabin at Bakesdown Farm and it was everything I needed and more. From the warm friendly greeting to the cosy cabin and fully equipped kitchen, I was very impressed with the whole package. Set in your own field surrounded by beautiful trees and wildlife, this is certainly the place to fully unwind. Will definitely be returning.

The coastal path is less than four miles away. This part of the North Cornish coast has the most splendid views and dramatic cliffs, try an easier coastal walk from Bude or a challenging one from Trebarwith!
