Chelsfield Farm Shop and Holiday Park enjoys a peaceful setting with fantastic views of Dartmoor, just 20 minutes from Bude and the sandy coast. Onsite, there is a selection of grass and hardstanding pitches, plus the option of a cosy camping pod for two. Relax in the restaurant/bar, browse the small farm shop selling local produce, including sausages, burgers and essentials, or fish in one of the three well stocked lakes. Dog friendly, too.

About the site

This rural Cornish site offers good access to all major routes. The A30 takes you right into Launceston and to many of the attractions throughout Cornwall and Devon. Launceston, Holsworthy and Bude are just 15 mins away by car. Try your hand at fishing in one of the three well stocked lakes, enjoy a bite to eat at the onsite bar and restaurant, 'The Stumble Inn', or stop by the farm shop! Chelsfield is great for a peaceful getaway, providing both grass and hardstanding pitches for guests. There are 30 non electric grass pitches, 12 electric grass pitches, non electric hardstanding pitches, aswell as electric hardstandings for tents and tourers. Please note that all pitches measure 9m x 9m. The acorn camping pod sleeps two and is equipped with a double bed and a small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Outside, you can enjoy a private patio with outdoor furniture. There are also two chalets that sleep up to six. These are pet friendly, and rooms include a double room, one twin room and one bunk bed room. There is also a six berth static with decking available to book. Dogs are welcome on site, provided they are on leads.

Things to do on site and in the Launceston area

For those who like to rise early, you may be lucky to glance the deer in neighbouring fields and those who like to stay up until dark can take advantage of the night sky. With little light pollution from smouldering campfires and the glow from tents, it's an astronomer's paradise.

Take in the fantastic views or relax with a bit of fishing or a picnic by one of the three lakes. Watch the swallows swoop across the water feeding on the insects, maybe if it's really quiet you'll see the kingfishers - if not, just recharge your batteries in a lovely setting. There's a weekly on-site BBQ where you can kick back and try something tasty.

Bude is nearby and is a haven for coastal walks, beach days, sandcastles and swimming. Here you'll be treated to surfing and surf schools, bike riding, horse riding, canoeing and sea fishing.

The A338 takes you to the coast and many quaint villages and towns throughout the region. Bude is the largest, but there are many other local seaside resorts which also offer great cliff top walks and fantastic beaches. Don't miss boating on the Bude Canal, cycling or just a stroll and a bite to eat along the canal. Have an ice cream and take in the sea air.

Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame) are a short drive on from Bude. Or, travel the Atlantic Highway in the opposite direction to Clovelly, over the border into Devon.
