About Porthcothan Retreats
A mere 5 miles from Padstow and 6 miles from Newquay, this glamping choice is well located and secluded, facing south for the best of the sunshine. Two shepherd's huts can be reached via their own private entrance, each with a garden and seating area just for guests, and safe off road parking. Inside they are kitted out with all the facilities you need, including a comfy double bed, table and seating, plus the luxury of an en-suite shower and toilet. The huts offer full kitchen facilities - each is equipped with an oven, fridge, hob, grill and an extractor fan. When you want to just put your feet up, there's a smart TV on each hut wall, allowing you to watch Netflix. No need to worry about the chill at night, a log burner will be waiting for you at the right time of year and in the summer it's a case of relaxing in the sun or dining on something tasty sizzled on the BBQ in the evenings.

Facilities are en-suite and self contained within the huts. Superfast WiFi is also available both inside and outside the huts.
The Tredrea Inn serves food all year round and is in easy walking distance, plus there's a shop and cafe close by. Horse riding, fishing and bike hire are available in nearby Padstow or Newquay.

Things to do on site and in the Padstow area
Pop in for a tasty bite at Berryfield's tea rooms and then walk it off with a stretch of the South West Coast Path. The valley is packed with beautiful flowers and the beach is perfect for a stroll too.
Also in the valley is the mysterious Porthcothan Fogue Cave which you can explore, or dawdle towards Penrose - unless the sandy beach and a bit of swimming take your fancy!
Heading left along the cliffs will take you to places that you might recognise from Poldark and onto stunning Bedruthan Steps with its excellent National Trust cafe.
Dine in style at Rock Stein's place in Padstow and then take those calories off with surfing, stand up paddleboarding and more.
