Thorpe Farm Centre is a lovely family-friendly camping and caravan park on the County Durham and North Yorkshire border. Conveniently located on the A66, it's just minutes from Barnard Castle, Richmond and more. On site, you'll find spacious grass pitches for tents and hardstanding pitches with optional electric hook-ups for tourers. Plus, there's a shop, park, and cafe to keep everyone entertained.

Very modern and clean facilities. On-site shop and restaurant are well stocked and reasonably priced. The site is very secure and safe, warden on -call all of the time. Plenty to do in the surrounding area, Raby Castle and Deer park is a must.

Perfectly situated for Barnard Castle. We would like to visit again when activities are available with our grandchildren. All staff very helpful but it was a bit noisy from the main road alongside.

Booking seemed to be cancelled on arrival. Eventually able to get a pitch, but next to busy A66. No sleep and site very muddy with poor roads.

Great little site. Facilities are always a worry for me but they are new and spotless here. The only downside was the noise from the traffic on the A66 right through the night. Maybe a kettle in the kitchen area of the shower block, for those with no electric to grab a cuppa would have been perfect. Loved it. Will definitely be back.

Friendly site, good value, realistically our only issue was the road noise. Further away from the road, it was quiet. Our bad really, as we should have looked at the map and checked previous reviews, it's right next to the A66.

Great caravan park! Plenty to do in and around the area, facilities are great and clean!! We only booked up for the 1 night but ended up staying for 2, would definitely be back again in the future!! Only downfall was the traffic but other than that 5⭐️

Let me start by explaining that the site is right next to the A66. Our tent was maybe 50 yards away from the very main road. The constant road noise made the stay unpleasant, but the site itself is lovely, facilities are top notch and staff were lovely. Unfortunately on top of the constant traffic, there was night work going on with heavy plant machinery and lots of extra noise. This is obviously not the sites fault but I cannot stress enough how close you are to the road. It spoiled our trip and we left a day early as I could not sleep at night times.

Lovely location, road noise was a bit of a problem and trees don't really shield it when pitched on that side of park. Most of the pitches away from the road seem to be seasonal.

Lovely campsite with clean amenities and very friendly staff at the café/gift shop. Great breakfast. Good location for easy access to Barnard Castle and Richmond, but unfortunately our pitch on the site was close to the road and the road noise was a bit too much for us.

We were situated quite close to a main road so early morning and night times were quite loud. The park is a little bit away from the camping area too so kids can't just go and have a play. I do think it would be better within the big green in the middle of the campground. One thing I didn't realise was that the electric hook up wasn't included in the price, you have to preload a payment card on arrival.
