About the site

This peaceful, family-run site is set on the edge of the North Pennines. Set beside the River Tees, it is just a 15-20 minute walk from the village of Middleton-in-Teesdale, where guests can enjoy local cafés, shops and places to eat. The park is carefully laid out with both adult only areas for those looking for extra peace and quiet, and family friendly areas for guests staying with children. There is a wide choice of grass and hardstanding pitches to suit tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes. Pitches measure around 7m x 7m, giving plenty of room to spread out, with all electric pitches including a 10 amp hook-up. There is free access to around 1km of fishing along the River Tees, right next to the site. Walkers will also be in their element, as the Teesdale Way runs past the park and links to many scenic routes, including the Pennine Way. For days out, Low Force Waterfall is just ten minutes away, while Raby Castle, Park and Gardens can be reached in around 25 minutes. Barnard Castle is also 15 minutes away, home to The Bowes Museum, riverside walks, shops and restaurants. Dogs are welcome, with up to two allowed per pitch. There is a dedicated dog exercise area, as well as plenty of walking routes straight from the site. Evenings can be spent relaxing with a raised fire pit hired from the park or cooking on a BBQ, both of which must be kept off the ground. The onsite shop makes it easy to pick up supplies, too!

Open from 25 March to 1 November.
