"Camping as it used to be" sums up this quiet, eco-friendly, family-run site central to the Lakes and Dales. Spacious tent pitches, each with a fire pit, are set around the sides of a big meadow. Attractive, modern shower rooms and loos. There's also cosy glamping with private facilities in a separate field. Enjoy lovely views, natural surroundings and lots of space to play. Great walks from your tent, close to village pubs too. Pets welcome.

From being greeted by the lovely Magnus and being shown around the week we stayed was perfect, all the little touches were there, it's clearly a campsite designed by campers. New family shower units, toilet block, good free hot showers. Charging lockers for power banks. Great job! Scenery is spectacular and getting a guidebook for walks from the farm was very useful, we did 3 and they were all great. Pub quite local (Kings Head) serves hiking portions of good food. Nearest village is a short drive away to Kirkby Stephen. I've camped quite a lot and as I said to Magnus this is in my top picks, if not our favourite. Don't bother if you're a party animal. It's serene and beautifully peaceful. We'll be back.

Great eco site, lovely pitches. Surrounding countryside is just beautiful. Showers hot, all facilities are just great with attention to detail. Magnus has done an amazing job. Enjoyable relaxing site. Will definitely return.

Facilities were great! The weather was very miserable and wet but thankfully there were 2 great pubs a short walk away. Peaceful field to pitch the tent in. The new showers and toilets were good! Perhaps could have been checked for cleanliness more frequently as the wet weather made things a bit muddy. I would only make one small suggestion - perhaps a kettle in the kitchen area! It was too wet to crack out the camping stove and the chance to make a brew would have been great! Magnus was friendly and approachable and we liked that there was a fire pit as part of the pitch. Car park was right next to the field and wheelbarrows were available to move gear.

We always give them extra attention in wet weather but it seems on this occasion we didn't quite keep up. Glad you liked the facilities otherwise and the fire pits are included on every pitch. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the shared facilities. I don't like using the same loos and showers as men, as I'm weird like that but it was so clean that it shouldn't be a problem, it's just my preference. Kings Head round the corner from the pub was very handy, so it was a great spot for our night away.

Spacious plots in a lovely lush green field. The shower facilities look new and there are a number of individual cubicles with a sink and chair so you can avoid lugging your toiletries around and getting your towel wet. The loos are very well maintained. Plenty of washing-up sinks too. Bonus was the fire pits and logs can be bought for those. We were a couple with a dog but there was a mix of groups including families with kids, it was quite busy but had plenty of room for everyone and still felt like a peaceful country getaway. Easy walk to the village of Rawstonedale with 2 pubs.

Low Greenside Farm is a lovely peaceful place, with plenty to do in the surrounding areas. The facilities at the campsite are excellent and the yurt is immaculate. You are provided with just about everything you'll need for your stay, and Magnus and his family are very helpful should you need anything else. You are also given lots of information on the surrounding areas in the manual, as well as nine different walks you can go on, and info about the pubs in the area. The campsite is nice and quiet and the sheep are very friendly, making for a very relaxing stay. We would rate Low Greenside Farm Campsite 5*, and would love to stay here again :)

Lovely campsite, plenty of flat spots if you want them - awesome to be able to light a campfire in the provided recycled car wheel fire pit - an idea I will be pinching and using at home. Beautiful vistas of God's own Country, you can see for miles of hills, fells and moors. Night sky would be great for earlier or later in the year when it actually gets properly dark at night, still too light even at 1-2 to see a huge amount- still saw satellites, lots of stars and the odd meteorite. The owners were friendly, helpful and available if needed, I only had two issues which to be fair are not the campsites fault it is where it is so roads and cars are obligatory issues for us al to deal with, there was a little road noise at times - but that just shows how quiet in general the campsite was - except for bird song, sheep baa-ing and cows mooing and bulls bellowing - very bucolic indeed, occasional tractors - but its the countryside - countryside things happen, I like those kinds of noises. Secondly and this may be more to do with me, I'm a big lad, than the campsite, was the toilet situation - composting toilets - great!, toilets with a lid that has such a a narrow slit hole in it it made it tricky to clean myself not great (Sorry probably TMI there) - I have a bruise on my hand from catching the edge of the toilet seat, I think there is a knack - either that or just be a lot smaller than me - this would not be tricky for most people , also means that little ones as well as big ones can use the toilets and not fear falling through. Couple of pubs near by for lovely food, easily walkable if your are fit and healthy, not so easy if you have any physical disability issues, but drivable in 5 minutes at most Over all I enjoyed my stay - even did a little impromptu assistant shepherding, and would go back again.

On arrival, we had a warm welcome. The facilities here are brand new and very clean. Beautiful views surround the camping field. We did a circular walk from the site into the village and enjoyed visiting the two pubs with our dogs. We weren't blessed with the best of weather so the fire pit was a welcome addition to our pitch. We'd definitely stay again.

Brilliant campsite! Toilets were modern, new and clean. Showers were also new, warm and clean. Great facilities for washing up. Owners were very friendly. Good to have a fire in the fire pits provided. Beautiful surrounding landscape. Would happily camp here again and recommend to others!

A wonderful place, quiet and peaceful. High standard of cleanliness, brand new showers and toilets, hot water! Charming and sincere Magnus, who was there to help! We will definitely be back! A few steps away very nice pub.

Genuinely one of the best campsites either of us have ever stayed at, we're already planning when we can return! Loved the easy going, find your own spot and pitch attitude of the site and the fact the sites were car free. The facilities were always clean and well maintained, and having access to a space indoors to charge devices and hide out from the rain was a welcome treat. The included fire pits on the pitches were a lovely added bonus too! Magnus couldn't have done more or been a better host, we can't wait to return.

Really great site! Lovely site in a picturesque location. Plenty of space, excellent shower and toilet facilities, drinking water, good parking, you can enjoy a campfire, and a very short walk to the village. Friendly staff and useful welcome email from the site.

Can highly recommend a stay at Low Greenside Farm Campsite. We first came across their site last year and camped for a long weekend. This year my daughters wanted to stay in the Yurt and we loved it, clean tidy and well equipped. With its own garden and facilities all kept very well and in natural surroundings with fantastic views. The site is spacious and it’s like camping of old. Fire pits are a great touch and plenty of space. Easy walk to the pubs in the village. Magnus looked after us from start to finish, thank you for a great time. We will definitely be returning. We loved our 3 day break staying in the beautiful bell tent with its own private garden. Magnus was an excellent host and really ensures you have everything you need to have a great holiday. The whole site is gorgeous and has everything you need to enjoy a peaceful stay. Looking forward to bringing our own tent for our next visit but would highly recommend the bell tent and the garden is amazing with double hammock, fire pit, picnic bench, and outside cooking area. Thanks for such a relaxing time!

A wonderful 4 night stay! The Green Bell Tent is set in it's own very private and very well equipped garden. Think double hammock, outdoor cooking equipment, picnic bench and luxurious sleeping quarters. The sheep and lambs will come to the fence when called and allow you to pet them. Partial to a custard cream!! Views across to Bowderdale and the north edge of the Howgill Fells, golden fields of wild flowers and two very good pubs within a short and pretty walk. Seriously well thought out and well executed. Comfortable glamping that offers privacy and a genuine feeling of a connection to nature and the outdoors. Thanks all.

We normally camp in the Lake District, but decided to look elsewhere this year as we thought (rightly) that the lakes would be too crowded. We booked Low Greenside based on the reviews and were not disappointed. The owners were very helpful and always happy to chat. The campsite is well laid out and all pitches are well spaced apart with a fire pit. The toilets and showers were always clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. Cars are left in the car park at the entrance, which meant that the site was always quiet and peaceful. We will definitely be heading back to this this one soon.

A beautiful, well kept, clean and peaceful campsite. We stayed in the bell tent which is isolated from the rest of the campsite and a perfect hide away for couples. The firepit is fantastic to cook and sit by in the evening. Waking in the morning to make a cup of tea is amazing when you look around at the surrounding hills and valleys. Overall this is was a stunning break for us with walks a plenty and bicycle rides around the nearby village. Would recommend this whole heartedly to anyone wanting a break from the bustle of modern life.

This place is quiet and relaxing. And plenty of space for every tent, it is very spacious! Facilities are super clean and comfortable. Very modern composting toilets. Enough showers (nice and clean). Be prepared to do recycling:-) which I personally enjoy and support! Lovely and friendly people who run the place. Magnus is very creative... Even fire pit made from old alloy wheels. I find it very clever, and there was so much more... We very much enjoyed our stay and we defo recommend it. We had a bonus of lovely yellow flowers blooming around us but this lovely bonus depends on when you come to visit.
