Great place to camp, at farm

We had a great time at this farm. Our kids loved all the animals (pigs, piglets, sheep, chickens). It is a very big camping field, with all the space you like. The surroundings are beautifull!

My stay

Nicely located campsite with well separated pitches and car free by the tents (and wheelbarrows helpfully provided for transporting kit). Plus, ridiculously cute rare breed piglets venturing onto the camping area.

A real gem!

This campsite is a real gem. The site was well-organised, and the hosts were friendly and approachable. I camped with a friend and chose this site as we were walking the Wainwrights. It proved to be a great find and also just a short drive from the Western Fells. The site is in a beautiful location, quiet and peaceful. Freshly cooked pizza and burgers were on offer each evening, and the atmosphere was family-friendly. Dog friendly too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you to the hosts.

Lovely campsite worth a revisit

Spend the bank holiday weekend at this campsite. It is basic but clean and the owners are very friendly. The atmosphere at the site is welcoming, friendly and peaceful. All the campers there say 'hi' to each other. The shower is hot and clean. The kitchen has all the conveniences you would expect, including a kettle, small fridge and freezer. Would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic! We will be back

We stayed for one night and could not recommend more. Site owner checked in with us and made sure we had everything we needed within 20 mins of our arrival. Self check was easy to do. Site owner checked in with us in the morning to make sure we had a good night and had recommendations of activities in the local area. Pods are exactly as shown on the pictures and had everything we needed. We will be back!

We had a lovely stay here! The scenery was beautiful and the pod and facilities were very clean! We can’t wait to come back!

Lovely stay

This campsite is a gem! We loved our stay and will be returning. We loved the mowed out individual pitches in the long grass, even on bank holiday weekend each 'plot' wasn't full. It can be a bit of a walk from the car to pitch with your wheelbarrow but definitely worth it to not have car doors banging and driving around at all hours, adds so much to the peace and tranquillity. Nice that there is a separate field for families too. The pizza/bar just a short walk from the camping meadow creates a lovely atmosphere and the staff are so pleasant and friendly. The shared kitchen is great, the industrial style toilets/showers are fine, never waited for the loo, always hot water. The area is beautiful, the views are stunning, the peace is wonderful, the stars on Saturday were amazing! Can't wait to return, wish we'd found you earlier in the summer!

Great getaway in Cumbria

Lovely rustic site, on a working farm in the Cumbrian hills. What else is there to say.

Nearly wild and lovely amenities

Really enjoyed staying at this site with my husband and big dog. Great amenities and great location.

Crake Trees Manor has been tastefully into a peaceful campsite. We enjoyed our stay there very much.

Beautiful Crake Tree Manor

A fantastic site, which is clean and tidy set in an idyllic quiet location. Perfect for a little getaway to refresh and unwind, whilst still being able to explore the lakes easily. It would be really great if each pod had access to a couple of mugs as all other amenities were supplied, but we forgot ours and a cuppa in the morning would have been perfect!

Excellent location for a peaceful break

Crake Trees Manor was excellent. In brilliant location, nice and quiet and peaceful.

Lovely site

I really enjoyed my one night stopover here & I would definitely come back for a longer stay. The camping field is huge, with individual pitches cut into the long grass, and facilities are cleverly done in an industrial-chic fashion - they are currently shared with the Glamping Pods, but it looks like there are more on the way next to the camping field. The pot-wash area has a freezer & fridge, and the owners were offing pizza & cold drinks from the farmhouse. The breakfast roll delivered by quad-bike the next morning was a worthwhile extra too. Very good!

Bliss!

We stayed for five nights at the beginning of July. The site is wild and gorgeous, with paths cut into the main meadow and spots nicely spaced to pitch. You need a wheelbarrow or two to get your stuff from the car to the pitch, but it adds to the charm when you pitch and the view is unspoilt. Pizza was lovely, recommended. The nearby pub does amazing food, but I'd recommend booking as it's very busy. Thanks for a delightful bubble away from reality!

Lovely peaceful site with great views

Lovely peaceful site on working farm. Great views from camping pod which is one of four located at top of hill. Basic pod with beds, electric and heater. Each pod has a firepit with BBQ grill and wooden bench and two chairs. Very cosy. Little kitchen area for campers to use with fridge, kettle and microwave and toilets with showers very close. Loved the home made pizza and pop up bar on Friday night. Ruth and Michel excellent hosts. Enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night.
