Cherry Trees Farm is set on a traditional hay meadow in tranquil open countryside, set on the Northern fringes of the Lakeland Fells. There are non electric grass pitches for tent campers, or a couple of furnished pods complete with their own hot tubs. Soak up the views towards the Solway Firth and beyond from this quiet haven that still has plenty to do nearby.

Beautiful countryside. Basic facilities but all you really need for a weekend away. Host was helpful and quick to sort any problems. The kids has a great time running through and hiding in the middle meadow!

Great little campsite, very peaceful. We went for a quick 2 night getaway. 2 adults and 3 kids aged 15,10,& 8. Kids ran wild in the field with a polystyrene aeroplane and ball. We were the loudest group there 😉 Plenty of walks and things to do locally with a short drive. Toilets and showers, and little caravan shop selling wood, food, bits and pieces for BBQ. What more do you need for camping 😊 would definitely go back. P.S the field is an absolute suntrap🌞🏕️

Small camp site with a big welcome. The moment we arrived, Alan the owner and his friendly dog made us welcome, Alan were so helpful and approachable. The pitch is quite big, spacious and spread out to give privacy to others. The toilet and shower blocks were nice and clean. The place was so relaxing and peaceful, we were overlooking to the vast field of green. We will definitely return and stay longer next time.

Alan the host was lovely and helpful. All the basic amenities there like clean shower, toilets and washing up sink. the campsite was open and not crowded. They sold drinks and BBQ food from a caravan at very reasonable prices.

What a truly lovely place: a meadow field with plenty of space between pitches. We camped and enjoyed the far-reaching views from this peaceful, hillside location. There was a warm welcome from owner Alan and his nice dog, and the chance to buy food for breakfast. I was so glad we did as the local bacon, fresh eggs and croissants were delicious. It's fine to have a campfire, with wood on sale too. The wash block was clean and comfortable. The meadow was a delight, with wildflowers - we even spotted a vole scurrying past. Campers use tracks cut through the grass to get the full experience…no hard tarmac here. The field is enclosed by hedges, with a horse and glamping accommodation to one side. The site was easily accessed from the motorway and it was an easy drive into Keswick, Carlisle and to the hills, lakes and coast. Owner Alan went above and beyond for us when we had a spot of car drama (is it even camping without a bit of a story?!). And I'm sure he does the same for anyone needing advice or help. So you're in safe hands. It's easy just to relax and enjoy the calm surroundings. All in all, this site is amazing value and perfect for a getaway.

Lovely surrounding areas and just a short drive from some classic lakes walks, this campsite was a great find. Although I was sceptical of the shower at first, it was so refreshing and I now want my own! The owner was so kind, very attentive and friendly with all guests - on our first morning, our car had sunk into the mud following some heavy rain and he very kindly towed me out. Had a great time, fully recommend!!

Awesome little place, quiet clean and with a nice view. Facilities were basic but clean, water was hot and we had everything we needed. If I had to find one criticism it would be the grass was too long and needed a cut, but honestly it was fine, I’m just being picky! Would stay again and recommend to others!

This was a great location for us during this trip, as it was only a 1hr 30 drive up to Galloway for the day to hike. We arrived the Friday, hit Scotland during the day on Saturday and had a leisurely drive with a pit stop to canoe in the Peak District on our way home to Manchester! The owner is friendly and relaxed, the campsite is quite off the beaten track but very tranquil and excellent value for money. The view from the top of the field is gorgeous and there's a basic toilet/shower hut/washing-up sink to suit your needs for a chilled weekend trip. I'd recommend this spot and will be using this place again, probably more as a base camp or pit stop should we ever want to do Scotland and the Peak District in one weekend again!

Very remote location with good access to many areas of the Lake District. The site itself is on a field, which was amazing for the kids as they had the entire field to themselves! On our day of arrival, there was a little ice cream truck that came by with the tastiest ice cream I've ever tasted! The views for miles were amazing day and dusk. The facilities weren't top end, but I think the site is in its early stages of set up, but there was hot water and showers which the owner cleaned every day. We left a day early but only because it was set to rain and we have nowhere to dry our tent out. We will be back again.

This campsite was lovely, spacious and quiet. It was the first time myself and my partner have taken our dog camping (1 year old husky), and this place was perfect for him to have a good run around on a long lead next to our tent while we relaxed and had a few drinks and a bbq! The owner of the land is very helpful and friendly, we spoke with him a few times while we stayed and he was always making sure we were having a good time. This place is perfect if you're looking for something a bit quieter and 'off the beaten track,' yet still within driving distance to villages, walks and popular attractions. As it's not as close to surrounding towns it makes it an amazing place for stargazing! There is a block of clean and basic showers and toilets to use on site, within an easy walking distance from wherever you camp. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning again!

As close to wild camping as you can get, but with facilities. Great quiet location. Owner went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Really great value for money. Lovely spacious field with a choice of where to pitch, not too close to other tents. Friendly service and very welcoming! The facilities are ample for the amount of visitors staying. Good working showers and toilets, not luxurious but definitely good for a campsite and great for the cost! It was a bit cramped getting changed after a shower and it would be good to have hooks to put clothes and towels on. Will definitely be back!

Absolute gem of a place. No crowds and an excellent location. We stayed for 2 nights and from the pitch you can see the Pennines on one side, the Lake District on the other and border of Scotland in the distance.
