Nestled between Southwell and Portland Bill, Sweet Hill Farm enjoys a superb location on the Isle of Portland with a selection of almost wild camping pitches. Soak up the spectacular scenery overlooking the coast and spot an abundance of wildlife here, complete with onsite riding school for beach trips on horseback! Dog friendly.

Amazing campsite, 'just' some fields but with lovely scenery, views and wildlife. Friendly atmosphere, staff and bacon & egg baps! Ace showers and toilets also. Thank you.

Lovely views, great location and the people who run it were helpful, laid back and friendly too. I thought it might be a bit exposed because of it’s close proximity to the coast but the hedges helped make it sheltered while still retaining the views. Great spot!

Really loved my stay here and can’t wait to return. Perfect location with views of the sea and Portland Bill from the pitch, and the coast path only a 5 minute walk away. Incredible sunsets both evenings (one image from the pitch and the other from the coast path just out of the site). Loved that fire pits are allowed and the compost loos were great. Didn’t use the showers in the end so can’t comment on them. Staff were super friendly and the coffee from the welcome hut was really good (cakes looked incredible too!). We didn’t join but loved the addition of live music on Saturday night. Sounded good from the tents! Thanks for a great weekend!

As it said, nearly wild. Perfect for what I needed and a great location . Didn't get to use the showers as the tokens were available at 9 am and I left early due to bad weather and a leaky tent. Staff on the phone were helpful when I called to check-in.

Good stay at Sweet Hill, easy check in and exit. Toilets were compost style but very clean. Showers were expensive in comparison to other sites. Showers required tokens to be collected from the cafe which was a little far from the shower block. Signage advising this or a change for token machine would be great. There was a cafe on site with nice cakes and the staff were friendly.

Friendly staff/owners, great location. Facilities are functional but clean - showers were great! Check the wind forecast or bring your windbreak, as it can be blustery.

We would definitely recommend this park as it is a few minutes walk to a gorgeous view of the sunset/cliffs. But there isn't a beach you can get down to from the campsite. The facilities were great - shower block, compost toilets and portaloos, drinks/food van, social area. However, we would say that this definitely didn't make it 'nearly wild camping' - the thing that did this is the fact that the town surrounding it is very empty! (No fault of the campsite's). So if you are looking to explore a new town or go on lots of walks, this isn't really the place for you. That being said, we made our own food, watched the sunset and just enjoyed the campsite so it was perfect for us. It was kept very clean and no one was noisy. Thank you!

Amazing location and beautiful place. The riding stables are on your doorstep and sea in minutes, with sunsets, lighthouses and climbers buzzing around the cliffs. The staff are great too!

What a wonderful place to stay. Great views, a peaceful site, and walking distance to Portland Lighthouse and a small beach to swim. There was a lovely pub down the road serving good food, so all good. There was a hut serving food and drink throughout the day, which provided meals and drinks. Showers were great. The toilets were basic but actually didn't smell. The best thing was literally sitting out at night, looking at the sky. No light pollution and the campsite was quiet. Be back soon, thank you so much!

Simple facilities but everything you needed for a bit of semi-wild camping. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. There was lots of space and some great views.

An absolutely amazing find, having just camped around Bretagne, Sweet Hill Farm was as good as the best in France. The views and coastal walks were stunning. Staff were so friendly with a fantastic cafe/bar. I was sad to have arrived an evening too late for the live music. Shower facilities were fantastic for £1.00. Plenty of space for everyone overlooking the wonderful views. As a solo camper on this occasion, I felt safe and secure and everyone was friendly and considerate.

Loved staying here for a couple of nights with my 10 year old daughter. We were blessed with good weather and the views were amazing. The location was great for a walk down to the lighthouse and explore. Facilities were great, although my girl was not a fan of the composting toilet! The shower block was good and pot wash facilities available. Fabulous to have Chelsie Equestrian Centre on site as well which made for a beautiful afternoons expedition.

We came here as we wanted a remote site with a view. It's rustic but you can pitch where you like. Fire pits are provided and the compost toilets are fine. The showers are lovely and warm and look new. It's an easy walk to Portland Bill with some amazing views. Being so remote it's really quiet and one we'll come back to when next down this way. There is a well-stocked reception/shop/bar which serves breakfast, although we didn't use.

A lovely place to stay with great walks and spectacular views. Did not use facilities as had all my own. Wish there was somewhere to empty waste from toilet and grey water. All in all a lovely site with beautiful well kept horses too 😊

Excellent campsite. Highly recommended if visiting the Isle of Portland, or even as a base if branching out to the wider Jurassic coast. Lovely, welcoming staff and a gorgeous location overlooking Portland Bill lighthouse and with a coastal cliff walk within a minute made it stand out. Due to the location, it can get VERY windy so pack your best tent pegs! Also, due to this and the near-cliff top location, I wouldn't personally recommend this site for young children unless you could ensure constant eyes on them. If you're looking for a friendly, chilled-out site where you can socialise if you want or keep to yourself for some RandR this is perfect. The stunning sea views and nightly sunsets over the Jurassic coast didn't hurt either. Lots of people take a gentle coastal walk down to the lighthouse to take it all in at sunset. I didn't try the food, but it looked good and freshly-prepared. I unexpectedly had to leave early and was absolutely gutted. Will return for sure.

For all, this is a super basic site. The facilities were really impressive and clean. Also, the vibe of the place was so nice, I was travelling alone and this is the site where I felt safest across my trip. And an amazing location, not far from a bus stop but also right in the gorgeous Portland countryside (with views of Portland Bill!).

Perfect location, even if the price is quite high for a campsite without power sockets and natural toilet and an extra cost for warm showers. Nevertheless, I'll return in any case!

Very close to nature place. The toilets are not for everyone, but they are okay. The showers - £1 for 3 minutes - are very good. There were a lot of insects trying to get into my tent.
