Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff. The facilities were spotless, spacious and warm. Location was perfect for exploring the area. We will definitely be booking again and recommending to others.

Just got back from a lovely weekend with our 3 young children at Whitemead Caravan Park. Really lovely, welcoming and appreciative people. They were fantastic with our children too, waving, smiling and having conversations with them all. Nice clean facilities and nice pitches. It was good having the park for the kids to burn off some steam. There's also a nice little pub opposite. Just to note there is a train line opposite so you do hear the odd train going past, but this didn't bother us too much as our boys enjoyed going over and watching them pass and would be perfect if you fancied a short trip elsewhere.

Immaculately clean and tidy site, conveniently situated near a railway station on the Weymouth to Waterloo mainline. The village of Wool has a couple of convenience stores, a Chinese take-away and a chip shop. There are two pubs within easy walking distance of the site, both serving food. The closest, The Ship Inn, is accessed via a footbridge just outside the campsite. This had by far the better reviews, so we chose to eat there. Food was great and good value for money. The campsite is quiet and the staff are friendly. We only stayed two nights, so didn't use all the facilities, but the large toilet block had plenty of showers, WCs and basins, and was kept very clean. Entry is by way of a coded lock which seemed unnecessary and could be a nuisance if you couldn't remember the code. We would highly recommend the site and would consider staying again if we were in the area. With the train station so close, it's a great place for visiting some of Dorset's towns and beaches such as Weymouth, Dorchester, Poole and Bournemouth, or even the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in Hampshire (particularly if you have a large motorhome and are worried about parking),

Warm welcome, friendly informative and helpful staff, good clean and well maintained site and facilities. Well stocked shop 5 min walk away and good pub serving excellent food next to site. Will be staying there next year.

Lovely site, really friendly team. Shower block is very clean and has a laundry area, which was super-handy after a very wet hike. Reasonable pub nearby for food etc and the site shop sells the essentials (wine etc).

What a lovely break. We were welcomed and shown to our site. Everything was clearly explained by a friendly Irish chap (sorry, I didn't get your name). The facilities were spotlessly clean, and there is a handy little shop too. Our stay was so relaxing, and as an added bonus the skies were clear so we could see the constellations at night. I was also treated to a shooting star!. Something we don't ever get to appreciate living in a town. Thank you so much Whitemead and your great team.

Very friendly staff and very considerate 'other campers'. Reasonably quiet site. Could hear trains and road noise, but not to be annoyed by it. Lovely walks and great transport links, both bus and rail. Facilities, toilets and showers were spotless and plenty of hot water. Would highly recommend.

Handy campsite, 15!minutes from Surdle door, 30 minutes to either Poole or Weymouth. Large sheltered pitch was great, ground could maybe do with a wacker plate going over as the ground was too soft for pegs to hold in places. Showered and toilets were always clean and the water hot. Train station was a 5 minute walk away, which was handy if you wanted to go on foot and have a few drinks whilst out. A pub across the way was also a short walk over the footbridge. The small shop was quite pricey for necessities such as milk, over £10 for an ordinary bottle of wine. £1.50 for a bag of ice etc. a cost levied to freeze ice blocks is also quite unusual. Happy enough though a pleasant stay. School holidays would perhaps explain the feral children hammering round the paths on bikes and scooters Parents should be reminded to escort them and not use the site as an unattended play park.

No complaints, very clean, staff are always happy and friendly. Kids loved the park and games room. Nice views all around the site, local pubs to the site. No rubbish overloaded in bin areas, showers and washing room very clean too. Music always being played too, which we loved!

The caravan park was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful. It was right next to train station but the noise of the trains didn't really bother us. The park at the site wasn't great for our children, who are 9 and 10, as it was mainly aimed at younger kids. The shop onsite was okay but is very small and ran out of a few things while we were there. However, the campsite is very close to a village with a Spar shop and a Co-op so we just walked there instead. The showers and toilets were clean but the showers were not very powerful so washing long hair was a bit of a problem! Our grass pitch was a good size and had plenty of room for the kids to play outside. It was a shame the weather was not very nice. We chose this campsite as it was very close to Camp Bestival, which we had day tickets for, so did the job for us.

Good level site, with welcoming staff. It could do with washing up facilities in our camping area, it's a fair trip to the one provided, and access to the ladies disabled toilet is tight for wheelchair users. Otherwise okay.

We last went to this site almost 40 years ago when our children were young. It is now, of course, run by different people, but it is still a lovely site. The staff are super friendly. We were greeted on our arrival and we were bid goodbye on leaving. The site is well laid out and the toilet block is not too far away, even if you are sited in the back field. Within easy distance is a fantastic pub (cross the road and go over the railway footbridge) which serves great food - you even get 10% off if you mention you are staying at the site! A short walk away is the train station with a bus stop outside taking you to Durdle Door, Weymouth or Wareham. We will definitely be back to stay at this great site and would recommend staying to others.

We had a troubled stay due to various outside factors not related to the park but the staff here were absolutely fantastic and really went out of their way to help us. A special mention must go to Stewart who really went beyond the call of duty to help us. The facilities were great and the toilet block was amazingly clean and well kept. We will be back....but hopefully with a lot less stress in tow next time!!!

Nice site with lovely views over open countryside. Facilities kept very clean. All basic needs covered. Excellent location on edge of pretty village. Choice of pubs, local convenience stores, family butchers and bakers. Fantastic places to visit nearby including Corfe castle and Lulworth cove.

Loved everything about this site from the cleanliness of the site to the fabulous staff! Lots to see and do very close by and a couple of lovely pubs doing great food within walking distance. When we first arrived my heart sank as I saw there was a train track right by the site but was really surprised that it hardly made any noise at all! We booked in for 3 months so we could leave the caravan set up on site and pop down each weekend for 3 or 4 nights!
