Gatehouse Barns Camping and Glamping is a secluded site situated on the outskirts of the quaint village of Peldon, with superb views over Abberton Reservoir. Kick back in your tent or tourer on the members only certificated site, or enjoy a glamping break in a luxury bell tent or vintage caravan, with easy access to a network of walking/cycling routes and an abundance of wildlife to find. Dog friendly.
About Gatehouse Barns Camping and Glamping
This charming hideaway offers a friendly, laid back environment for guests to enjoy a relaxing stay in the countryside. Set close to the glorious beaches at Mersea Island, you'll find a range of grass and hardstanding pitches catering to your tent or tourer. Optional electric is available for both the grass and hardstanding pitches, with space for up to five caravans and 10 tents. Camping and Caravanning Club members only. A luxurious bell tent and vintage caravan take care of glampers, with all bedding and towels included for a hassle free stay. Dogs are welcome here, and there is a designated dog walk area too.
Open from 1 April to 30 September
Site facilities include toilet and shower, plus ice pack freezing and battery charging points.
Local transport can be reached in under a mile, and it's just a quick five minute stroll to the nearest pub.
