About the site


Set in the Severn Valley, this site offers a friendly stay for those camping, touring or glamping, spread over seven acres. Stay onsite and enjoy the neighbouring animals, the apple orchard, shop and cafe or head out and explore around the banks of the River Severn, just five minutes from the site. There are 24 non electric grass pitches and 36 grass pitches on more level ground with 16 amp optional electric, all are suitable for tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans. If you are looking for a touch more comfort, there are nine camping pods to choose from onsite. There is one pod with two single beds and is pet free, two pods with two single beds and a bunk bed that is pet free and five dog friendly camping pods with two single beds and a bunk bed. Bedding is not included as standard in these camping pods but can be requested for an extra charge. There is one camping pod with a full sized double bed where the bedding is included. This pod is pet free. All of the camping pods have heating, plug sockets, a private decking and outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome onsite with up to two per pitch, but must be supervised and on leads at all times due to other animals. Open fires are not permitted. BBQs are allowed, but must be raised off the ground.

The site facilities include a heated toilet and shower block, an accessible toilet and a children's wet room and changing area. There is also a sheltered washing up area with a chemical and grey water disposal point.

There is a tea room serving tea, coffee, cold drinks and cakes from Wednesday to Sunday, 9am to 4pm, also open on Tuesday during school holidays. Breakfast is served between 9am and 11am, light lunch options are available from 12pm to 2:30pm, and evening meals are available Friday and Saturday, 6pm to 8:30pm.

The onsite shop offers food essentials and some camping basics. The Lyon Inn pub is less than a five minute drive away from the site.

*The Reception is open from 9am until 12 during the morning and 2pm until 5pm in the afternoon

*No more than 3 groups or 3 families, unless at the prior agreement of the management

*No single sex groups, unless at the prior agreement of the management

*All group guests must report to Reception before going to a pitch, despite the fact that their friends are already in situe

*The owners reserve the right to ask you to leave if we see a group forming and no refund will be given

*Guests shall not cause any damage to the trees, shrubs, fences, buildings, fixtures, fittings or other property. Any damage should be paid for by the guest held responsible.

*The campsite barrier is closed at 10pm and no vehicles are admitted onto the site after that time. There will be 24 hr access for pedestrians.

*Please respect quiet time - 10pm until 7am

*Keep noise to a minimum and respect other campers

*Please keep your music down, not everybody likes it!

*Although open ground fires are not allowed, campers are welcome to bring a BBQ which can be used off the ground. Bricks are available on request. Anyone found having an open fire will be asked to leave.

*Strictly a speed limit of 5mph to keep all our guests safe

*If a pet is part of your unit, the pet remains your responsibility at all times and must be on a lead and not left unattended. No dogs named under the Dangerous Animal Act will be allowed on site

*Pets are not allowed inside the facility buildings


Things to do on site and in the Gloucester area

Just five minutes from the site, the River Severn presents plenty of walks along the banks of differing difficulty and length. You can stop off at the Westbury Garden Cliff (5 minutes) and take in the views of the river and surrounding towns.

If you are looking to burn off some energy and see another side of the Forest of Dean, there are two Go Ape centres in the area for you to choose from. There is Go Ape Beechenhurst (20 minutes) and Go Ape Mallards Pike (25 minutes), each offering a new way to view the forest.

Explore the Goodrich Castle set next to the River Wye, with the medieval structure and a simple tea room. Just 30 minutes from the site.
