About Harry's Meadow

Sheltered by ancient oak trees which surround this tranquil wildflower meadow, the site is ideally located within the New Forest National Park. With a range of non-allocated pitches catering to tents, campervans and motorhomes. Pitch where you feel like on more than 50 acres of flat and well maintained pasture. Find a quiet space at the far end of the field, further from the facilities, or pitch near to the entrance to be five-minutes from a wild swimming spot on the River Avon and closer to the public footpath, which leads across the fields to the small village of Woodgreen. Campfires are allowed in off-ground fire pits which are available to hire from reception and dogs are welcome to. If you prefer, indulge in a 5m bell tent, sleeping up to four people.

Facilities and amenities

Site facilities include a couple of luxury shower blocks with high pressure showers, toilets, plus designated washing up areas - fire pits are available to hire and wood is sold onsite.

A wood-fired pizza oven is on the site at weekends and the site offer morning breakfast including fresh croissants, pain au chocolat and Barista coffee.

A note from the site themselves...

Camping has been in our family for many generations. Our Great Grandad Frank used to enjoy legendary camping trips to Anderby Creek in the 1930's that involved him packing a family of three and all their camping equipment onto a motorbike and sidecar!

Grandad Harry then used to take camping trips in Canada in the 1950s. We all also have fond memories of packing up the Volvo and darting along the Dorset coast listening to Neneh Cherry in the mid-1990s.

It only made sense that we finally opened a campsite of our own in 2015 and haven't looked back. Over the past years, we have grown with the families that come back and camp with us year after year, often with more friends and family members every time!

We now own three different sites and we feel we can confidently say offer three quite different camping experiences. Whichever one you happen to pick, we hope you will relax and enjoy all the wonders of camping that we love so dearly. We hope to welcome you soon, The Sheriff-Holford Family

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2023

A lovely family stay! Great that you can pick your pitch. Such a family-friendly site. The food and drink vans and evening music/silent disco were great. We also loved the added bonus of seeing the VW campervans staying on-site. The staff were all so friendly and helpful.

The best camping experience I've ever had!

FAQ

If arriving for a camping stay your pitch will be ready from 1pm, for the Bell Tents please arrive between 4pm and 8pm. On departure day it is asked you vacate the Bell Tents by 10am and tent pitches by 11am. Please stick to these timings unless you have made prior arrangements with the site.

Yes, dogs are more than welcome at Harry's Meadow for a small fee. Please do always keep them on a lead and clear up after them while they are on the site. Its interesting to note that there are no dog waste bins in this area of the New Forest, it is best to let nature take its cause. Obviously do not leave any poo bags anywhere in the forest!

Of course, what would camping be without spending your evenings sat round a fire? Please only have fires in fire pit and not lit on the ground. Firewood must be purchased from the site as they use unseasoned wood which is better not only for your neighbours but also the environment.

The camp ground is so large at Harry's Meadow that campers are not confided to pre-allocated pitches and therefore it's a great place to pitch up next to your friends where you choose.

Pup tents and gazebos are permitted, for a small charge. Sorry, no awnings.

The site benefit from their own range of pop-up food stalls, serving a range of dishes from prawn bhunas to fresh stone baked pizzas. And you can quench your thirst with a tipple from the popular cocktail truck too!

Don't forget to pack your swimmers for a dive in the New Forest Waterpark's variety of lakes - the staff at the site are more than happy to help find the best spot for your family or group.
