Our second stay at this great site. Location really good, welcome friendly and facilities basic but provide everything you need and are well.maintained.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2025

Whilst the British weather did it best to put a dampener on our stay, the excellent location close to the river and a short walk from Ross town centre made up for the damp weather and the friendly, welcoming site staff did a great job to get us settled in. The Rowing Club Bar was open for the evening and offered a great range of drinks, and great views of the sunset across the river. The toilets and shower facilities were clean and functional, after all its campsite not a 5* hotel. We look forward to staying again.

This is a really well positioned campsite for walking into Ross on Wye and along the river. Perfect for those that want to enjoy easy access to the river for water sports. We found the pitches to be spacious and the site to be quiet at night. You do get what you pay for on the facilities front. Showers and toilets are very basic in a portacabin. Not many showers or toilets for the size of site. Water was lukewarm / cold in the showers and washing up area. Personally this wouldn’t put us off returning again. All in all a well positioned site that is reasonably priced.

A really lovely weekend camping for a couple of nights by the River Wye. A fantastic location, a huge camping field with good choice of pitches and just a few minutes walk along the tow path and up the steps into the town centre. A fun evening at the club's bar with some really yummy burgers.

We stayed here with a group of friends for my sister's 50th birthday, a canoe trip down the Wye - a really welcome break after a happy day on the water. A bit basic for some of the girls (they're into their posh glamping!), but it was a lovely site, with plenty of space, good showers with plenty of hot water, and a really friendly welcome. We went for a lovely meal in the town centre about 10 minutes walk away, after early evening drinks at a river-side pub. The town is far enough away to not be noisy (you really feel as though you're getting away from it all), but it was still close enough for us to get a fresh croissant and coffee for a riverside breakfast. The river was amazing, gorgeous scenery, lots of birds and fishes - we even saw a kingfisher!
