Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Great stay for one night, perfect to get to the river easily.
The road was a little noisy and the showers needed a bit of a clean but all in all, good stay!
Site's response
Thanks for your review and glad that you found it easy and accessible.
We've taken on board your comments regarding the showers - they ARE cleaned twice daily, and we do request that guests help to leave them as they would wish to find them, but still sorry they weren't up to scratch.
Two day canoe trip Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Me and three other friends were canoeing from Hoarwithy to Symonds Yat over two days with a stop to camp in Ross on Wye.
Thoroughly recommend this trip I've done it twice and it doesn't disappoint.
There are rabbits on the campsite too (I counted 11 in the morning).
Site's response
Thanks for your lovely review - and delighted you've come back for more - and were able to see the rabbits nibbling in the morning sunshine!
Lovely relaxing stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Great location, take a boat. Short walk into the town. Toilets clean, showers hot. Borders the A40 so arrange a pitch on the other side of the road if noise bothers you.
Site's response
Glad you enjoyed your stay, and yes, it is definitely worth getting a boat trip if you can! (the pub just downstream hires them out by the hour, or there are plenty of canoe hire companies in the area)
Thank you for your review.
Great location Recommends site

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 Well positioned for access to Ross on Wye town centre only 5 minutes walk.
Great walks by the river, our dog loved having a swim.
The rowing club does a great burger at there bbq on a Friday night, very friendly and welcoming.
Bar at the club too!
Will stay at the site again.

Look forward to seeing you again soon :)
Short stay Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 Ample space across a number of fields.
Basic toilets and shower cubicles. All kept clean, and hot water.
Great location for launching out Kayak. Rowing club bar is very close and we had a lovely welcome.
Site's response

Lovely basic campsite Recommends site
Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 This campsite is such a beautiful location located right on the river Wye.
With big beautiful wild meadows full of buttercups, it was a lovely 3 night escape.
The toilet and shower facilities are basic but clean, and it's a short walk into town where shops like co-op and Aldi are close by.
Site's response
Thank you! So pleased you enjoyed your stay
Camping in Ross Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 Brilliant little site for exploring Ross or the local walks.
Lovely peaceful stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 We had one night away at Ross Rowing Club to top off the Easter bank holiday weekend. The site was easily accessible, facilities were clean - felt very safe and peaceful.
We were sent a text with access codes and arrival information. Then were greeted on arrival and told how to access our pitch, as well as being recommended drinks and food over at the Hope and Anchor on the other side of the park - great recommendation! We also went there for breakfast the next day - top quality full English.
Easy access to a nice riverside walk and small 'beach' on the riverbank with a nice view back towards the town. Took some hot drinks down there to duck-watch and relax.
Would 10/10 stay again! Really pleased for the price.
Site's response

Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 Our second stay at this great site.
Location really good, welcome friendly and facilities basic but provide everything you need and are well maintained.
Site's response
Thanks for your review - and hopefully you'll be back for a third visit!
Excellent, spacious campsite with friendly staff Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 Whilst the British weather did its best to put a dampener on our stay, the excellent location close to the river and a short walk from Ross town centre made up for the damp weather and the friendly, welcoming site staff did a great job to get us settled in.
The Rowing Club Bar was open for the evening and offered a great range of drinks, and great views of the sunset across the river. The toilets and shower facilities were clean and functional. After all, it's a campsite, not a 5* hotel.
We look forward to staying again.

Our stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 This is a really well positioned campsite for walking into Ross on Wye and along the river.
Perfect for those that want to enjoy easy access to the river for water sports. We found the pitches to be spacious and the site to be quiet at night. You do get what you pay for on the facilities front. Showers and toilets are very basic in a portacabin. Not many showers or toilets for the size of site. Water was lukewarm / cold in the showers and washing up area.
Personally, this wouldn't put us off returning again. All in all, a well positioned site that is reasonably priced.
Site's response
Thanks for your feedback - since you posted (sorry not to have replied sooner!) - we've improved the hot water etc in the showers and washing area, so hopefully even better.
Do come again!
Lovely weekend by the Wye Recommends site
Sep 2024 A really lovely weekend camping for a couple of nights by the River Wye. A fantastic location, a huge camping field with good choice of pitches and just a few minutes walk along the tow path and up the steps into the town centre. A fun evening at the club's bar with some really yummy burgers.
Birthday Canoeing Recommends site
Jul 2024 We stayed here with a group of friends for my sister's 50th birthday, a canoe trip down the Wye - a really welcome break after a happy day on the water. A bit basic for some of the girls (they're into their posh glamping!), but it was a lovely site, with plenty of space, good showers with plenty of hot water, and a really friendly welcome.
We went for a lovely meal in the town centre about 10 minutes walk away, after early evening drinks at a river-side pub. The town is far enough away to not be noisy (you really feel as though you're getting away from it all), but it was still close enough for us to get a fresh croissant and coffee for a riverside breakfast. The river was amazing, gorgeous scenery, lots of birds and fishes - we even saw a kingfisher!
