Nice site with some let downs Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches Aug 2025 We were given a pre arrival phone call and email, which was great.
Upon arrival, it wasn't clear if we could use the grass for our awning, so I phoned up and asked and the woman who answered seemed to have no idea how the site was even set out or where we could pitch it, so told us to just put it there if no one else is using it.
The site is very small and quiet which again is good. It's a little further out from the beach and facilities than perhaps advertised. The pub on site is lovely although nothing to do with the site, however, it was full of flies. We couldn't eat all of our food due to all the flies landing on it. They told us they had been spreading the fields which is fine but they need some fly zappers if they know this happens.
The pitches are spacious and overall, the site is lovely however, the office wasn't manned once and we didn't see any staff members for our whole stay. There were some noisy campers which went on until 11:30pm ish, which is fine but if they'd have carried on until the early hours, I'm not sure who would have asked them to quieten down with no staff.
The toilet block looked nice from the outside but they are the reason I've given 3 stars instead of 5. There's plenty of them but it took 3 attempts to find a suitable shower room. 1st one had no hooks and nowhere to put clothes, the 2nd was nothing more than a dribble from the shower. The 3rd had hooks and a decent shower, nice and hot but every toilet seat in those 3 were broken. The toilets were filthy where they fasten to the toilet (hairs and thick yellow grime, I'll leave that to your imagination). The floors in every toilet were so thick with dirty grime that I was slipping all over after the shower, I ended up having to put a towel down to stand on. I have a toilet in my camper but when it was time to leave I nipped to the loo and none of them had any loo roll at all and they clearly hadn't been cleaned since I went the afternoon before. If the toilets were cleaned and maintained, this would be a 5 star review.
You don't expect immaculate toilets when camping but basic cleaning and maintenance is expected. There's no running water in the pit wash area, it doesn't matter to us but worth knowing if you don't have pot washing facilities.
Overall it's a lovely site it's just massively let down by the facilities and because of this, I couldn't recommend it and I wouldn't return.
Dirty and disappointing, wouldn't return Aug 2025 Booked for the Bank holiday weekend Friday 22nd August to Monday 25th August at a price of £34 per night.
Poor communication from the start, had to chase up myself how to check in on arrival only to be given the wrong gate code. On arrival nobody was on site to assist with the code, reception was closed and I tried several times to ring the contact number supplied but got no answer. Somebody from a nearby pitch kindly came across to let us in and they told me that they had the same issue trying to get access.
The park itself while has fairly modern facilities those facilities are rundown and in need of a good clean. The shower and toilet rooms cannot be checked on a regular basis as on numerous occasions basic things like toilet roll wasn't available. Also, the floors were filthy with damaged toilet seats just left lying around.
The pitches really need a tidy up with some grounds maintenance in order with something just as simple as a bit of weedkiller, lighting at night is very poor when walking across the site to access toilets so this could be improved.
Overall, for the price per night on reflection to the service and quality provided it is very unreasonable. I wouldn't recommend the site at all, some may say that it is because its busy on a bank holiday but to me that means more staff and more frequent checks should be made.
Unfortunately, a disappointing weekend but a lesson learned and won't be returning.
No reception Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 I missed a phone call from the morning of the day we were to arrive. This meant they sent me an email and left a message on my voicemail. I didn't receive these until after I arrived.
The reception isn't manned at any time, so trying to get them on the phone was a pain as the number given does not give an option for Poplar Farm. Had to phone the golf course (as they own the site) to get the code for entry.
It seems all the grass sites are next to a relatively busy minor road.
Toilets were dirty most of the time with toilet paper at a premium or non-existent. Paper was never put in the receptacles designated for them and so if you had a shower they invariably got wet making them useless. Toilets and showers combined but individual.
The pub is a separate business and is not open normal hours although it is on site. Food was good.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches Aug 2025 Beautiful little campsite. Well maintained plots and very spacious in-between. 10 individual shower and toilet pods, well maintained and clean. Laundrette if needed and a small pot wash room. Superb pub on site with excellent meals serving a good variety of home cooked food with very generous portions, at very reasonable prices. 5 mins into Ingoldmells and 15 mins into Skegness. Definitely will be going again.

Didn't see any staff member VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Didn't see any staff member. When we arrived, 3pm in the afternoon, no staff at reception, took 29 minutes to get someone on the phone to let us into the campsite.
Facilities are basic, 1st day no toilet roll or hand-wash. Would not recommend, or stay again. Only positive was it was quiet.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 Honest review from someone who is not fussy.
If you are looking for a site for children, this is not the one. It is a very quiet site which I enjoyed but my husband did not, it is a 40 minute walk to fantasy island but it is down a country road with no pavements and you can also walk to the bus stop near Butlins' site for Skegness, around 40 minutes as well but Ubers from fantasy island are around £4.50.
On arrival, no one on reception, I had to phone the number of the golf site to be told I should have received an email about checking in which I did not get, so was told information over the phone. The pub has nothing to do with the camping.
We arrived on Sunday and left Wednesday and never saw anyone for the site. Showers are reasonably clean, but some have better pressure then others and be warned, the shower can spray quite far across the room so be aware of where you put your belongings as they could get wet.
Overall, I did enjoy my stay but it is more for caravans and the site literally has 5/6 tent pitches only. If you want a relaxing and quiet site this is perfect well it was quite when we went, with quick journeys in a car to fantasy island and Skegness but taxis and buses are cheap enough but be warned you will need to walk. Also, the washing facilities for pots and pans is inside the laundry room and you can get water from there to. Hope this review is helpful.
Ok Roof Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Reception is not manned so had to chase round trying to find out what to do when we arrived.
Pitch site was good and clean. Toilets however weren't as good, never any toilet roll, watched the cleaners come, they stood outside chatting for a while then did a quick clean and were away within 5 mins. Site not very well lit at night so walking back and forth to toilets when it's dark as a bit of a challenge.
Visit Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 When arrived, had no idea of barrier passcode as no-one at reception, some other holiday maker let us in.
There was nobody to show us to our pitch nor any info on email after booking. We waited for over an hour then decided to look for our own pitch. Very poor customer service. Don't bother phoning the site number on the board as nobody answers. It's not as good as it was.

Very clean washroom facilities. Only bugbear, I did not receive an email giving me details of how to gain entry and what my site number was.
Took at least 15 minutes to get through to anyone on the phone.
10/10, great place to stay, nothing to complain about

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Absolutely lovely site with great facilities, only downfall was there was no one at the site to book us in, we had to go to the golf course for advice, as told by someone already in their caravan on site.
We did try to ring the number on the booking form but no one answered - but once sorted it was absolutely lovely, so peaceful.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Lots of room on the site and was really quiet and peaceful.
Noticed there was laundry facilities but didn't use them, there was one toilet block that I could see but may have been more, toilets weren't amazingly clean but there were signs up advising guests to be clean and tidy, soap ran out the night we were there and was empty the following day.
Other than the toilets I can't fault it, it was lovely, it is next to a road but it was quiet and not busy at all.
Owner rang me the day before arrival to introduce himself, advise of codes etc and sounded very welcoming and friendly.
There's also a pub/restaurant on site which looked lovely but we didn't go in.

Little pub on site does incredible food and a free bouncy castle!

Good value for money

The only let down was that when we got there, no one in reception, so had problems entering site but apart from that, couldn't have been better.
