Wifi access needs improving. Shop needs a much bigger selection of groceries as it's a 15 minute drive to nearest shop and when you are doing basic camping with no or little fridge capacity, it is very annoying. Some/many other campers use higher very loud televisions which is very annoying. Great staff and a great location.

We had a wonderful stay at Waxham Sands. Such a great location, beautiful beach and so many seals! Facilities were a little tired but kept very clean. Just wish the showers would open earlier than 8am.

Never camped at Waxham Sands before but I will definitely be returning. Myself and my sister had a lovely weekend camping with our dogs. Perfect location, brilliant staff. Toilets and showers clean.

We have stayed at this site many times before, but this was the first under the new ownership. Everything is still pretty much the same, the shop, the showers (although these are now free and not 50p tokens). It was disappointing for hubby to arrive on Saturday, only to be given the first pitch that still had family on it and there was a mix up with them leaving. After a wait, the second pitch he was given had a caravan still sited on it, as it hadn't been towed to its storage pitch on site! He left the car & caravan and went back to reception to get it sorted. It caused unnecessary hassle and delayed him getting onto a pitch and setting up our caravan as he had to wait for someone to be contacted who was able to remove the caravan to give him access to the pitch. This wasn't an issue previously. The new addition of visiting food vans was good, especially the ice cream roll lady!

Nice site with spotless toilets. The one I went to was closed at 9am for about an hour for deep cleaning and I didn't want to risk walking round site to see if other blocks were open. The electric kept tripping when kettle turned on due to electric circuit being only 6amp - camping kettle would of been fine but a lot slower. The biggest let down was the climb to and from beach as, being disabled with bad hips, I didn't expect to go mountaineering to get to and from beach. I wouldn't have booked if I had known this was the case. Once on the beach we loved it and saw loads of seals some getting really close and seemed to love having their photos taken.

This is a good family site, in a good location for a beach with seal watching and the Norfolk Broads. Well organised with cheerful reception staff. Facilities are more than adequate, although don't provide full motorhome services such as grey waste disposal. Our visit was the first weekend of the summer holiday, so very busy with children having fun. While pitches were reasonably tight, it was still peaceful overall. My recommendation is that it is a family site and great for the kids, however as a couple, I would recommend going during school term if you want a quieter site.
Good site - stay spoiled by a large group booking

The best thing about Waxham Sands is the location just over the dunes from long, sandy beaches. The sea was great to swim in, and there are seals! The toilet facilities are good. Basic but adequate. Enough for the large site that we never had to wait, and always really clean and stocked with paper, soap etc., with decent working dryers and hand sanitiser. We think the cleaners came round at least 2 or 3 times a day, possibly even more often. The site is a big open area, with well-marked pitches and good access tracks between rows. Pitches are generously sized. There is no separation like hedges or fences between individual pitches or rows of pitches. That led to our main problem with our stay... After our first night, a large noisy group arrived and had been allocated 4 adjoining pitches but not in a square together - they were offset so that our pitch was inset into a corner of their group and we had their group both to the side of us and behind us. That wouldn't have necessarily been a problem (apart from feeling a bit weird) but they then fenced off their whole area with windbreaks right up to the pitch boundaries except for a small gap they left going directly on to the back of our pitch so they could use it as a corridor to get to the toilets. With about 25 people in their group, we had a constant stream of people walking directly through our pitch day and night. They came straight through the middle - sometimes between our tent entrance and us sitting just outside eating, or would just wander right across, stepping over our gear. They could easily have accessed the loos by walking through the pitch next to us, which was one of their group's but they chose instead to fence it off up to the boundary and use our pitch as access. While we were out one day their kids helped themselves to some of our beach toys, which had been tucked away under the side of the tent. We got given one water pistol back after asking but ended up having to retrieve the other from their pitch ourselves. With that and them having shouted conversations across our pitch, we just felt mostly uncomfortable at times we were around our tent so we spent as much time as possible away from it. Other positives about the site are the friendly and helpful staff at reception and in the shop. The shop was useful and the food vans in the evenings were good. We were grateful for the large dining tent (like a small marquee) that was open for general use as it was somewhere shaded to sit with ice creams and drinks on the hottest day. It would have been useful on a rainy day too! Overall we would stay again but only if we could choose a pitch in advance, and possibly not in peak season as it is a large site and was very full. We also felt that the group booking could have been better organised. They could have been allocated an area not right on top of small, individual units, or at least just have been given pitches arranged in a square rather than surrounding other pitches. Also, leaving defined gaps between pitches to allow people access through the rows would help people from the back of the row to access the nearest toilets without having to walk through someone else's pitch or go all the way around to the end of the row. Some physical separation between rows would be nice for a bit of privacy, even just along the back of the pitches. More hedges or trees would help with providing some shade too.

Stayed here in July for 2 nights, campsite was basic, but has everything you need.... 2 min walk over the dunes to the beach, seals are 5 minute walk up the coast, walked for 1 hour past the seals to a small town, fish and chips on the sea and an ice cream... Campsite is large, has a well stocked shop and loved the communal area where they had food of an evening (hog roast) and a chocolate dessert company. Staff very friendly, had a great time and have rebooked for August for a couple of nights, but taking the kids this time as they will love the beach, open space and the payground

We enjoyed our stay at Waxham Sands! Fab location, very close to the beach. The facilities were great, with toilet blocks dotted throughout the field so no matter where you were pitched, you were pretty close to the toilets. The shop on site was great for essentials and not over priced. The only negative we have is the pitches were very close together. Even after telling the site the size of our tent, we couldn't get the car parked next to the tent. More so due to how the people next to us each side were pitched. This also meant noise levels from next door were high because you were so close to each other. Other than that, a great stay!

We stayed for 2 nights, but wish it was longer! The site was great, with good facilities and right on the beach, plus the pitch sizes were generous. There was everything you could think of, a beach toy library to borrow toys, bricks for disposable BBQ's and doggy spa to clean off after the beach. Really well ran. Will be booking longer next time!

Perfect weekend! We are totally going again, regardless if it's electrical or non electrical pitch! Clean everywhere, spacious pitches, friendly and helpful staff, shop on premises stocked up with all things you'd need. 5 min walk to beach which had a lovely surprise- the seals. The have a dog spa 😍 if your dog gets too sandy 😅 and a dog recreation area 🤩🤩 and a lovely outdoor dining area with hog roast 😍😍.

A very basic campsite for tents, caravans and motorhomes. There is no club or bar, and just a small site shop selling basic amenities which is only open until 6pm. Good flat ground and nice clean toilets all around the site. Only one shower block for the whole site that needs improvement, shower was the old type, pushing a button every 20 seconds for water at a set temp, and the shower heads were clogged so only gave a dribble of water. It was a hilly walk to the beach, with no access for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Overall ok for a weekend but definitely not any more than that.

We purposely picked this site for its location and we were not disappointed. Wildlife, dog walking and a calm, clean and very friendly site. Reception staff were all friendly and helpful. The 6amp electric supply was an issue for some people but this is being upgraded to 12amp and was no problem for us.
