This site is simple and has everything you need if you're happy to use a portaloo and go without a shower for a few days :) Lovely stretch of river to enjoy, prettier location and a good escape. Dog friendly (on lead) and child friendly. Suitable for a mix of groups, couples and families - there was just me with my dog and we loved it.

Loved our stay here. Back to basics. Relaxed campsite that allows fire pits. Plenty of walks, cycling and access to the river for paddle boarding, plus descent pubs within walking distance.

This is a fantastic site for those of us that have simple needs. With it having a water tap & one portaloo. Great for us folk that can remember campsites from old that we had fun on, where the first task of the holiday was to dig the long drop loo! lol Beautiful spot with great walks to some idyllic village hostelries offering tasty treats & refreshments. The river I am sure adds some summer fun but was wild when we stayed! All in all, a great little gem of a site.

Never stayed before, but pleased we did. Lovely site with some amazing views. Portaloo Toilets though basic were very clean and maintained. Fresh water is available at the entrance to the site as well. We will certainly stay again! Dog friendly ๐๐

If you want showers and a clubhouse it's not for you. But, if you're after peace and quiet in a location rich in history, it's ideal. Toilets were clean and well stocked with toilet paper, hand sanitiser and even air freshener! I live on a boat and often spend a few days moored here in the summer. However, it's a ten hour cruise as opposed to a half hour journey in the car. The dog and I loved it and will certainly be back.

Lovely 1 night stay for our family. Weather was beautiful so had a little dip in the river before having a little campfire and BBQ. Had a wander around the old castle grounds before we settled down for the evening. Fantastic location. Defo be visiting again.

I had a wonderful stay. It was my first time car camping and I couldn't have chosen a better place. I had two swims and 3 lovely walks with my dog. I felt safe and it was so peaceful. I will come back soon as I can for another stay.

This is such a lovely place- a gorgeous river to play in and a lovely peaceful atmosphere. Limited facilities, but this was reflected in the very reasonable price. Thoroughly recommend.

Brilliant location for a weekend camp. Great views from the hill, with the wider area bathed in the history of Fotheringhay Castle. Easy access to the river for paddle-boarding and swimming. Great local walks with pubs. Hill top location means you need to be prepared for wind. 2pm check in/out is a welcomed revelation that allows you the opportunity to enjoy both your first and last day on site. Facilities limited to on-site warden, portable toilets and running water - exactly what we were after.

Gorgeous location with nicely spaced-out plots to choose from. Plus the accessibility to the river made the wilderness experience even better. Kaz and Charlie were so welcoming, friendly and helpful too!

Excellent site if you make the most of the river. Very peaceful, with spots to fish and launch canoes etc. If you have mobility issues then consider some sort of small ladder to get into the river. Site hosts are pleasant and willing to help if needed. Good pubs in the village to eat at and a couple of historic sights to visit. We camp a lot all over the UK and will return here. A fixed toilet building would be better, but not too bad with portaloos, clean enough, but they are what they are, temporary toilets. The only reason to mark the site down.

A very special location. Lots of natural beauty and local charm. During our stay Kaz and all other site representatives were very friendly and helpful. On the day of our departure we had a problem and Charles and his family were very kind and quick to help out. Many thanks. An all round good experience.
