About Greencarts Campsite
Within Northumberland National Park and just a stone's throw from Hadrian's Wall, this is the perfect spot for keen walkers and cyclists. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, enjoy a traditional camping holiday with glorious views to wake up to in the morning. Find a spot at one of the two camping fields here. Both the large and small fields cater to tents and tourers with a range of 34 non electric grass pitches and 16 electric grass pitches at the top of the larger field to choose from. There are also five hardstanding pitches suitable for campervans, caravans and motorhomes available, with all pitches allowing up to ten guests. For those who don't want to bring their camping equipment with them, there is a camping barn on site that sleeps up to 11 in a dormitory-style setup. Guests can enjoy the use of all camping facilities, along with having a small kitchenette for cooking up something tasty. If you are wanting to toast some marshmallows under the stars, the site has a small number of log baskets available. Well-behaved dogs are more than welcome but must be kept under control at all times whilst onsite.
Greencarts Campsite is open from 01/04 to 15/10.
Site facilities include individual male and female toilets, showers as well as accessible disabled facilities. There is a washing up area including a washer, dryer and sinks. There are a number of picnic benches along with a limited amount of log baskets for small fires.
For any groceries, the Humshaugh Village Shop is a five minute drive away. The Crown Inn pub is also just five minutes away, great for food and drink.

A great campsite, has electric hook up pitches as well as non electric. There were only 3 of us on the field the first night and 2 on the second. There were extremely clean restrooms and I noted them being cleaned very regularly and incredibly thoroughly. Definitely a great site if you're not looking to drive for too long if you're living in Newcastle. Even the 24 hours of rain didn't dampen our experience, loved it!

Things to do on site and in the Hexham area
With Hadrian's Wall just a couple of minutes' walk away, the site is an ideal location for walkers and cyclists taking on the wall. The site is also situated within the Northumberland National Park, surrounded by picturesque bridal paths and cycle trails, perfect for those wanting to spend their days exploring.
Vindolanda, a famous archaeological site, home to a Roman for and village is just a 15 minute drive away. Keen historians will be fascinated by the themed guided tours and the museum full of ancient artefacts, giving a glimpse into the past.
For thrill-seekers, Go Ape Matfen is just a 20 minute drive from the site. Take on the Treetop Challenge, scale the Goliath high ropes or zoom down the zip wires!
For making the most of the summer sun, Blyth Beach is a 50 minute drive away, with sandy shores and blue waters, it's a great spot for a swim. Other nearby in the area include Cresswell Beach (55 minutes), Long Sands Beach (50 minutes) and Newbiggin-by-the-Sea Beach (50 minutes).
