We have had a wonderful week at a very special little place! Run by very kind and thoughtful people (nothing too much trouble), the site is set out, managed and maintained extremely well. Great ethics and philosophy too. The pod we stayed in, well it was just great! The site is superbly located, central to and within easy striking distance of leisure based activities, such as riding and walking, as well as many interesting natural and historical attractions - towns, rivers and Romans! We have been very busy and have loved every moment. Thank you so much ☺️

We had a great weekend. The location is beautiful, lovely and peaceful. Loads of adventures for the kids to get into. A great location to get around to visit all the sights. The pod was clean and tidy and everything was well thought of, we wanted for nothing. A really nice little cafe on site too, food was good. We would definitely book again.

Fantastic service from Jo, beautiful site and cabins so cosy and clean. We had a fully furnished pod and ours was so well equipped, better than many cottages I've been to. Really peaceful, except for the wind! And my kids! Nice time to visit as felt more at ease with the dog off the lead, no fishermen out with the wind I presume! Wi-Fi as well - a saviour with kids!

Absolutely loved my stay at this beautiful site. Jo is so welcoming and helpful, and the pod is well stocked with everything you might need, including a wind up torch! Stunning view across the lake, and so nice for a city lass to wake up to the sounds of bleating sheep and quacking ducks instead of noisy neighbours and cars! Thank you for 2 days of blissful relaxation!

A delightful piece of land with a lovely lake, a good pub nearby, a Co-op in easy reach and walks from the door. The pod was small but not cramped (for 2), the kitchenette was well stocked (fully equipped option) and the shower was great. I could have wished for a thicker mattress on the sofa bed, like those on the singles, but we wanted double so settled for it. If you have the option, and are able-bodied, it's worth looking at the other pods first as the layout is wheelchair friendly. The extra we paid for fuel for the firepit was well worthwhile (you can't use your own) and we accepted the option of local sausages (delicious) and the farm's own rump steaks (very good). Don't be put off by the welter of instructions in the confirmation communications, which was matched, on arrival, by signs everywhere telling you what's expected of you - just laugh it off, this place is as chilled as you like and the sunsets were glorious, sitting by the firepit with a beer in hand.
Site's response
Really glad you enjoyed your stay Liza. Yes - sorry about the array of instructions - we try as far as possible to have a 'hands off' approach so as not to disturb guests who are enjoying the peace and quiet at our site. But unfortunately that means we do have to communicate things somehow, and not everyone (- probably very few!) read the cabin brochure provided. If I could find a less obtrusive way of making sure guests put the correct recycling in the bin and no facial wipes down the loos I certainly would!!? Sadly, despite the signage, it's all still regularly ignored! Nobody ever warns you that when you run a campsite you become completely overwhelmed by waste management!! LOL!!? Hopefully see you again soon, Jo and Ben

We stayed in the Blackcleugh Pod with our 3 toddlers and we had a blast. The kids loved the camp fire and the pirate ship playground. Even though it was freezing outside, the pod stayed nice and warm. The bedding was very comfortable. My oldest son, 3 years old, had no problem climbing into the overhead bunk and has already asked when we are going back. Everything was very clean and was by far the most luxurious camping experience that we've ever had. Thank you Jo and company. We will be back!

A superb glamping site with very well thought out, high quality facilities. The pod was cosy, even in storm Arwen! Situated in a beautiful area with plenty to do. The owner was really friendly and helpful when we bumped into her on site. We’re already looking at dates for our return trip.
