Non electric grass pitches

Boat Lane Caravan And Camping Site is a great base for exploring Nottinghamshire - with Nottingham only a half hour away in the car and Sherwood Forest not too much further. Pull up on a comfy pitch and enjoy the peaceful riverside which is just a 10 minute walk away - with nice strolls and tasty pub lunches to be had. A pair of pretty gypsy caravans offer glamping getaways with a decorated interior and campfire outside.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesSep 2022

Facilities are very basic but dirty. Didn't get "cleaned" until Wednesday, which consisted of emptying bins and putting bleach down the toilet. For the price per person, per night and then £3 per dog pet night (I have 2), I thought it was far too expensive. Had to pick up after other people's dogs around my tent too. Kids were not watched. They were playing hide and seek, tripping over my guy lines and banging on the side of my friends caravan. It's a free for all. You are expected to know that the office isn't being used and to use the caravan/chalet where the warden lives. Never ever again, far too expensive for dated and dirty facilities.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

Absolutely fantastic location and very relaxed about our dog. However, the facilities are very small, dirty and are in need of some updating. The showers we used flooded when we used them. However, we had a lovely weekend walking as the location of the campsite is so good!

Location is great, facilities are not

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

Our family's annual camping trip. The area was big. We were one of many large groups and managed to get all together. Although we paid for 4 pitches, we ended up all on 2 pitches. A lot of groups were placed like that. It was okay for us, but not ideal as some of our party were sharing the pitch with another group. There's only 3 toilets and 3 shower blocks per gender. There ended up being queues due to the volume of people and not enough toilets. I think they need to look at adding more facilities going forward as this was our main issue. We took the kids to the river for fishing, but it seemed to me that it was private fishing only. Make sure you keep your cars next to your tents. We were asked to park them elsewhere and our spare wheel was stolen. We had a great weekend, minus the above, but wouldn't go back to this site unless it improved and added more facilities.

Good facilities and plenty of space

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

We only stayed for one night, but it is a good site and you could stay longer for sure. We had a motorhome but there was a good mix of tents and camper vans. The site is clean and looked after. The toilet block is a bit dated and you can see through the edges of the toilet doors and shower doors, but they are kept clean. Just a word of warning, they do not provide toilet rolls or hand towels in the toilet block, so remember to take your loo roll with you. I would definitely recommend for a short break.

Poor toilet and shower facilities

The location was great but the toilet and shower facilities are in serious need of refurbishment. Also, you are expected to pay the balance you owe in cash.

Nice few nights away at this family friendly campsite

Lovely little campsite within walking distance to the River Trent. Perfect stay for a couple of nights away with the kids.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

With two adults and two children. First of all: really friendly staff. 5 stars for them. Pitches are really huge and flat. No problems with the electric hook up. Facilities are a little bit old and have a lot of spiders and spider webs. Toilets and showers are clean. Showers are really small. Recycling area is a little wild. For one night it was ok, but not for more nights.

Great place!

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

Really great campsite that has a fun, but also relaxing atmosphere. Mel and Dexter (her dog) provide a pleasant welcome and nothing was any trouble. Lofty helped keep things maintained and provided us with logs, for campfire which was a great bonus! The location was ideal (local pub, river for hiring boats etc) and there was much more around should you need it. Thanks to Mel for looking after us. Will see you again soon x

Great stop over site

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

Good site for a quick stop over. The people there was super friendly and helpful. The only reason for not having 5 stars is the washing/toilet facilities could do with a bit updating, but it didn't take away from the surroundings or helpfulness.

Convenient, pleasant location

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2022

Lovely site, well spaced out, quiet but good location. Facilities good (not sure what it would be like if site was full of tent campers…) Had an ace nights' sleep!

Great little site with everything you need

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJun 2022

This is the second time using this site and it does everything it says on the tin. Great onsite toilets and showers and great for first-time campers and close to Nottingham, we will definitely be using again in the future.

Great site

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2022

On arrival we were told twin axle caravans were not allowed (yet we booked months in advance). Otherwise everything was OK, but we wouldn't return.

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful campsite

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2022

Lovely site with friendly helpful staff. Facilities were a tad on the small side but clean and had loads of hot water. We took our dog and there were some lovely walks along the river and around the jubilee lakes. The site is also within walking distance of the river Trent and 2 pubs. I've never been to this part of the country before, but will definitely go back!

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesApr 2022

We really enjoyed our stay, great facilities, lovely welcome to site. The only downside would be the pitches, which felt slightly crammed and didn't have too much space in between them. Would recommend pitch layout improvements. However, it was a great location for walks, thanks. Would I go again? Definitely, yes!

Lovely place to stay
