We camped on the field which is a bit uneven, so choks are a must. The pub have great food and drink. Staff are so friendly and a great laugh too. Even saw the shire horse and carriage. Nothing is too much trouble for Pete, please tell me I got his name right.

We were very happy with The Gate Hangs High as a pub, and stayed for two nights on their campsite. It's certainly OK for a short stay, but as the facilities are quite limited, I would not recommend it for a longer stay. The site is rather close to a road, so don't expect complete silence.

Would not recommend, I think all facilities need a serious update! Also a rubbish removal company is just behind the fence.
Site's response
It is not a rubbish removal company, they are a plant hire and recycling centre.

Lovely site. The owner of the pub is lovely, food is really good and reasonably priced. Slept brilliantly.

Lovely, small and friendly campsite with great pub and friendly locals. It has all the facilities you need for camping, and in a good location for exploring the Cotswolds. My only reservation was that during the working day, noise is heard from the recycling site near to the campsite.

Great, rural campsite with very friendly staff and fantastic pub. All the facilities you need, but on a small scale (just 1 shower), arrival and departure very easy. Pub is excellent for food, local beer and atmosphere.

Beautiful camping location, pub very friendly and very welcoming of well behaved dogs. Great camping field, only negative comment is that a better shower facility would be welcome. Ate at the pub on Saturday evening and the food was super, chef even provided a cheeseboard which was not on the menu, will definitely be returning, hopefully when the live music is available.

Our first trip out in our little camper and we chose somewhere relatively close to home - the Gate Hangs High. A lovely little campsite with a great pub and even better hosts. The food on site at the pub is 10/10 and the guys running it were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you!

Nice little campsite, very easy to find. We stayed on an electric pitch. We arrived late on Friday and ate at the pub - delicious food with friendly and welcoming staff, we changed our plans so we could eat in the pub on Saturday night too! Campsite only had 7 other campers on so it wasn't too busy. Facilities need updating, but were generally clean and tidy. We will be back again for another weekend away!

A lovely site and great value for money. There is a slight slope to the site for some pitches usually used for campers. Our pitch was on a terrace and flat. Excellent food in the pub with very friendly staff. There is a toilet, shower and washing up area available for those that need it although, we did not use it.

Lovely location in Oxfordshire. The campsite is very picturesque, with a secure pub garden - great for the dog. Toilet facilities for the campsite are attached to the pub but not the best standard. Pub was lovely, beer was fab and the food was amazing. The staff were approachable and friendly. Overall a lovely stay.
Site's response
Thank you for those kind words, we are investing in the facilities all the time, and making the shower area better. I hope you see this the next time you stay.

Lovely Cotswold view from our pitch, lovely and quiet. Greeted by the very friendly owner who showed us the facilities. In the evenings, we had an excellent meal. Definitely top nosh in the pub/restaurant there. The roaring log fire was a bonus. Couldn't fault the place.
