Witney, Oxfordshire

+ 8 photos

Oxford Riverside Glamping provides an opportunity for a truly rural getaway, yet is only 4 miles from the city of Oxford. Situated within its own grounds adjacent to the River Thames pathway, it's luxury bell tent camping within a park-like setting - and the ideal location for a relaxing break, romantic weekend away, or as a base for exploration.

About Oxford Riverside Glamping

This glampsite is an ideal spot for couples, families and simply those wishing to explore the world-renowned cultural sites of Oxford. With stunning countryside to enjoy, it's set along the Thames Path - so great for walkers. Surrounding the site is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with beautiful riverside walks, fishing in season and birdwatching. Here you'll find a set of fully furnished bell tents, which can comfortably sleep two people, but have room for up to four at a small extra cost. Each 5 metre bell tent is equipped with rustic furniture, rugs, a candle chandelier (as well as other lighting) and a double bed dressed with pillows, duvets and crisp white bed linen. Hot water bottles and extra blankets are provided for those cooler nights, but it's worth bringing warm clothes just in case! Outside the tent you'll find your own personal seating area and fire pit, which can be used for all your cooking needs. Simply relax and enjoy the gently setting sun. Cutlery, crockery, pans and utensils are all provided, as is firewood and charcoal. You just need to bring your own food, drink, torch, towels, bathroom essentials and a good book! Opposite lies Wytham Woods, an area of ancient woodland as well as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Open from 30 April to 28 September

Facilities and amenities

Just a short walk from each tent, there are brand new ladies and gents toilet and shower facilities as well as an external wash-up area. There is also a covered cooking area with several ovens (just in case weather conditions prevent you using your fire pit), a communal fridge and mobile phone charging points equipped with security lock-boxes, so you can leave your device to charge with complete peace of mind.

There are several public houses, restaurants and local shopping all within walking distance of the house.
