About Cuckoo Farm Campsite

If you're looking for a peaceful farm escape that caters for all ages, look no further. Set against a backdrop of rolling countryside with the River Chater running alongside, this working organic farm offers not just fresh produce to buy but also a grassy meadow for tents and campervans, as well as 18 electric hook up points. Run by camping-obsessed Roland and Rebecca, the farm is home to sheep, pigs, turkeys, chickens and a herd of deer. Guests are encouraged to join tours of the farm, where they can meet and feed the animal. There's plenty of space for kids to play, and a river to relax by or paddle in. Given the site's proximity to a Site of Special Scientific Interest, you'll also spot kingfishers, cuckoos, buzzards, kites and falcons in the sky above. Have your binoculars handy! If you can tear yourself away from the campsite's tranquillity, you can cycle into the local village of Ketton in ten minutes, shop around the historic market town of Stamford or spend the day walking or cycling around Rutland Water Reservoir and Nature Reserve, less than 15 minutes away. For a small fee, your four legged friends are very welcome to join you onsite. Firepits are also available to hire.

Open from 31 March to 30 September

A note from the site themselves...

After travelling around Southern Africa in our trusty, but not too reliable Land Rover, we returned to London knowing that we wanted to do something new. Office work and London just wasn't for us anymore. Two moves and two kids later we found ourselves in beautiful Rutland on Granny and Grandads farm.

With a field nestled next to the river and surrounded by nature and animals we knew we had the right spot. A place to create/share a little of what we loved - a campsite for families, friends, and couples, a laid-back atmosphere where the simple pleasures of gathering around a campfire and enjoying good food together could be realised and memories made.
