About the site

Whether you are looking for a stop off on the Cowal Circle Cycle Route or a base for exploring the Argyll Coast, this woodland campsite is a great spot for outdoor adventures. It is surrounded by public footpaths and cycling trails with the Kyles of Bute within a 20 minute drive. There are 8m x 8m hardstanding pitches, each allowing up to five guests. The non electric pitches welcome motorhomes, trailer tents and campervans, whilst the 16 amp electric pitches also allow caravans. For those travelling without a unit, there are three cosy camping pods. The Birch pod is located on the edge of the park with views up the glen, whilst the Bothie pods are clad in larch and feature oval windows, a covered porch and views of the Glendaruel Hills. Each pod sleeps up to four with a dining area that converts to a double sleeping platform, plus a set of bunk beds. Simple kitchen appliances are provided, including a fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster, along with heating and electric sockets. Outside is a picnic bench for enjoying your morning brew. Bedding and towels are not included, but you can hire them from the site or bring along your own. Be sure to pack cutlery and crockery too! A limited number of backpacker pitches are available, suitable for up to two people in a small tent, travelling without a car. There are also three static caravans, each with two or three bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a BBQ in the evening, just be sure it is raised from the ground. Do note, open fires are not permitted. Canine companions can join in the fun, with up to two dogs allowed per pitch or camping pod. Alder pod is pet free.

Open from 28 March to 27 October.
