About Callander Woods Holiday Park

This family-run holiday park is at the gateway to the Trossachs and the Scottish Highlands but is also on the Rob Roy Way and the Birds of Prey Trail. To add to all that natural beauty, you're also near to the famous Bracklinn Falls and the stunning Loch Katrine. You'll find outdoor pursuits on your doorstep and fantastic shops, restaurants, and bars in Callander within walking distance. Touring caravans and motorhomes are welcomed on brand new fully-serviced pitches, hardstanding and grass pitches for stays of one night or longer. Seasonal pitches are also available. If you're into a more luxurious camping experience, pods and studio pod cabins ensure the ultimate glamping experience in any weather. These are available to suit four or six people with beds inside and other mod cons. Bring your own bed linen and towels or pre-book one of the site's linen packs. The site also has a selection of two and three bedroom caravan holiday homes. These are contemporary, with fashionable decor and furnishings and are fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxed and comfortable self-catering break.

Callander Woods closes for 1 month of the year from the 5th of January to the 5th of February.

Explore a 14th century courtyard castle in Doune, with a striking 100 ft high gatehouse and one of Scotland's enormous great halls. You'll recognise it from the filming of Ivanhoe and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Stirling Castle is also a must see in the area, too.

Located on an island in the Lake of Menteith, Inchmahome Priory was founded in 1238 and plenty of the original building can still be seen. For fans of history and lovely buildings, Cambuskenneth Abbey hosts a fine collection of medieval grave slabs and architectural fragments.

A variety of restaurants, cafes and takeaways are all within an easy walking distance of the park including the Poppy Seed Restaraunt, Venachar Lochside, The Byre Inn, The Riverside Inn and The Lade Inn.

The areas around Callander Woods, including Stirlingshire, Perthshire, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs are home to an incredible choice of outdoor activities. Zipwire pros and those who've never swung through the trees will all love Go Ape Aberfoyle - one of the best high rope courses in Scotland. Or if you'd rather stay grounded, this is a stunning place for walking, with a variety of low and high level walks available.

McLaren Leisure is a sport and leisure complex that prides itself on offering high-quality friendly service and facilities for all ages. After getting fit and active, you can experience the thrill of tank driving in Scotland plus many more activities at Tank Drive Challenge!

On a farm, just north of Stirling, you'll find Central Scotland's only red kite feeding station where visitors can watch these exciting birds and their spectacular flying. Plus at the Outdoor Activity Centre on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park there are fun activities for individuals and groups, led by an experienced team.

Other great nearby attractions include:

  • Top level golf clubs
  • Briarlands Farm
  • Blair Drummond Safari Park
  • Doon Hill Fairy Walk
  • Sailing on the Steamship Sir Walter Scott
  • Callander Jazz and Blues Festival
  • Callander Summerfest
