Wilding on a Whim is a lovely retreat in the Scottish countryside, with eco-conscious glamping pods nestled within a family rewilding project. There are two pet free pods and one pet friendly pod, all sleeping up to four people and well furnished. Surrounded by woodland and part of a rewilding project, these are perfect for couples or families looking for escape.

I stayed for 2 nights and the pod was perfect. Extremely cosy with everything you could need. Nice communal fire pit and Colin was very helpful with providing firewood and dealing with a minor Wi-Fi issue one evening. The location is lovely and quiet but only 20 minutes from the shops. We even managed to see the Northern Lights one evening. Overall. it was a lovely site to stay at. The facilities were perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful break.

My partner and I just spent the weekend at Wilding on a Whim and it was perfect. The pod and bathroom were immaculate on arrival and they had provided all that we needed throughout our stay. Thank you for the eggs! The host was very friendly and checked in with us to make sure we had everything, we hadn't realised our pre arrival email had gone into our junk folder but Colin was more than happy to check us in over the phone. The location is perfect for trips into Edinburgh while also secluded enough to disconnect, and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. We'll definitely be back again!

We came back 2 days ago from staying for 4 nights whilst visiting our daughter in Edinburgh. The location was brilliant. The pod was wonderful, cosy, clean and everything you needed was inside. We booked the dog friendly pod as we brought our cockapoos with us, they loved it too! The hospitality we received from the family was wonderful and they have done such an amazing job of re-wilding their land. We will definitely be back when we next visit, it's a little gem.

The pod was absolutely beautiful and so cute and cozy, especially with the campfire going. Everything was perfect and I would 100% stay there again.

Definitely worth a 5 star 😀 The pod was stunning, with all the necessary facilities. Very cosy and relaxing site. Colin and his wife are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for everyone whether you are a family, or you just need a calm and quiet nature.

Unfortunately, we are unable to advertise our business on the main road as this was part of the planning permission. We have however added an image of a pod to our house sign. A child and dog-friendly relaxing getaway

Couldn't fault it! My pregnant wife, 2 year old dog, 1 year old son and I all greatly enjoyed our time here. The pod was spotlessly clean - especially for a 'dog friendly' pod which was important to us as one of us is allergic to non-hypoallergenic dogs. The pod was also well equipped with a double bed, en-suite shower/toilet and enough space for the dog bed and travel cot we brought. It's 10-20 minutes drive from multiple restaurants that are dog and child friendly (The Horseshoe Inn and the Pyet were both great for drinks and dinner). As well as local attractions. The owner even brought us a lighter when we realized we didn't have one when attempting to light the communal fire pit.

We arrived in the early evening and managed to get a bit lost, but the owner was happy to direct us over the phone and even came out to meet us to show us where to go. He was on hand to recommend some nice local walks and had a nice chat with us before we left. The pods are nice and spacious, with plenty of room for two of us and our puppy who loved it! Everything was nice and clean and had all the mod cons that are needed. Once we realised we had gone down the wrong road to get there initially it wasn't hard to find and was really close to local amenities and some nice country pubs and restaurants. It's so peaceful and although the weather wasn't on our side, we will hopefully be back in the summer to enjoy the communal fire pit and sit outside.

A peaceful family run set of pods nestled in the Scottish Borders. Absolutely beautiful and immaculately clean pods with all you would need for a family holiday. Everything (other than food obviously) is provided on arrival, even up to a pint of milk in the fridge for that much needed cuppa after a long drive. Linen was on the beds when we arrived and towels for all of us were in the bathroom 😃 The pods are clean and clearly very well maintained and looked after. The family who own the pods couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful 🥰 Beautiful down lit paths lead to your pod which has a table and 2 chairs so you can sit and enjoy your morning cuppa ☕️ The communal fire pit is visible from your pods and is great to sit round at night, especially if you’re toasting marshmallows 😋 Would thoroughly recommend this site, we would definitely come and stay again 🥰
