Exactly as described - wonderful!

Beautifully maintained site with excellent facilities. Many thoughtful touches added to create a truly welcoming atmosphere and comfortable stay. An enjoyable and relaxing time, would definitely revisit. Many thanks to hosts, Dave and Ingrid.

Stunning and peaceful campsite

My partner and I camped here when visiting family. We loved it so much, we plan to stay here every time now. The adult only campsite, peaceful and quiet. Stunning views of nature, with beautiful lake views on the doorstep of the campsite. The owners were very helpful in welcoming us and the facilities were the cleanest I have ever experienced at a campsite!

A beautiful treat of a place

Arrived to a friendly welcome from our hosts, who even helped guide us to the site when we got lost on the way! A real gem of a place - unassuming and much less formal than other sites I could mention. The facilities are clean and well kept and the site is wonderfully placed near the banks of the Colemere. The place has a beautiful large wildlife pond and is beautifully lit up at night. There are birds and bunnies a plenty. The communal area was so very smart and we could see ourselves there with a group of friends staying in the future. Nothing was too much trouble for Ingrid and Dave and the handy map was great. We were lucky with the weather too as even though we had arrived to showers of rain, we woke the following morning to a bright blue sky which allowed for a walk atound Colemere with our dogs, prior to an adventure to Shrewsbury. We took Dave’s advice on Sunday and followed the canal path into Ellesmere and to a wonderful lunch at the Red Lion. We’ve just arrived home, feeling as though we are thoroughly refreshed and relaxed, even after driving the A55 on Bank holiday Monday Another cherished memory for our motorhoming escapades! Highly recommended

We had a short break in this beautiful site. The peaceful nature of the site was so tranquil and just want we wanted. We had limited O2 phone signal but for us it was perfect to be away from the busy life we wanted peace from. We would definitely be returning there again.

Lovely peaceful stay

Beautiful campsite with lovely views. It was very peaceful! The addition of the hot tub and bar/kitchen area is great.

A lovely weekend!

Our stay at Colemere was perfect! Ingrid and Dave have thought of everything you might need and the campsite itself is beautiful, a real gem. We wanted somewhere off grid and this hit the spot (we stargazed and saw 6 shooting stars!). It's only an hour's stroll from the nearest town (Ellesmere) which had a cool pub called 'The Vault'. However, make sure to pre-order a taxi when still at the campsite, otherwise there is no chance of getting one! We really enjoyed the relaxed feel of the site and the kitchen/shower facilities were perfect. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend :)

Lovely little place

Wonderful place, & great facilities. The owners live on-site and make you feel at home. You can go on lovely walks right from the doorstep, it's the perfect adult getaway.

Beautiful site with great amenities

It was our first outing in our campervan, and we don't have much experience with campsites to compare it to, but I suspect Colemere campsite has set the bar high! The site was clearly lovingly taken care of, everything was spotless and well thought out. The community use room was a bonus that we didn't expect. We enjoyed our stay very much, and had some lovely walks alongside the neighbouring mere and canal too.

Great site

Dave welcomed us with a smile, showed us to our pitch and a map of the local area with points of interest was provided. The dog loved the 1.1 mile walk around Colemere and at 11 years old was just a nice length for her. The facilities were great, no shortage of hot water, and the toilet block was kept very clean. There was a lounge area with T.V. for those who wanted it. 2 kitchen sinks and also meal making equipment (microwave, toaster and kettle). There were also heaters and somebody used them to dry their coats (it was a wet few days). Sitting outside on our plot when the sun did pop out, there was something missing then I realised... silence. There were no children running around kicking balls etc.

Lovely, clean and quiet. Lovely host, hot tub was amazing. Could do with a shop on site.

Absolutely loved it, lovely site would definitely recommend. Very clean and very friendly, would recommend the hot tub. Will be back.

Peaceful getaway

Peaceful and naturally beautiful site. Welcoming and friendly with great facilities. We love it here for a relaxing getaway, looking forward to returning already.

Excellent

Really nice site. Clean and quiet. Toilets and showers are clean and there's a really great rustic communal area with tables and chairs, a fridge freezer and sink. Really welcoming.

Lovely pitch near the facilities and the duckpond

Stayed for 5 nights in May with glorious weather. The setting is idyllic and very peaceful. No traffic noise whatsoever. We had a lovely pitch opposite the entrance. Masses of space and had the company of a few ducks and moorhens which lived around the duckpond about 20 feet in front of us. Grass pitch and the grass was short all around with no muddy or bare patches whatsoever. We loved the setting and the tranquillity. The hot tub was just across the small duckpond from us and was used just once during our stay. No noise or problem where it is situated. If you are used to Old Oaks or similar adults only sites with amazing toilet blocks etc then this site may not be for you. The facilities were spotless but housed in rustic wooden buildings. The chemical disposal is an old toilet set in some brickwork in a corner of a field. No roof or cover and no sort of flushing facility, just a hosepipe. Waste water is emptied onto the Christmas trees growing near the duckpond. Used to be a standard thing to just let your washing up water drain away but rarely seen nowadays. The pitches are not level but we were lucky in that ours was fine side to side bur only just managed to level front to back with the legs fully extended at the back. Not sure how a motorhome would cope. The roads leading from the main road are also very narrow with passing places and are approx.1.5 miles long. If you can live with these then this site is a gem. We loved our stay and will return.

Autumn break

Booked quite late but struck lucky. Lovely peaceful location. Plenty of space between pitches and fire pits to rent. Variety of walks from the site. Approx. 45 mins walk to Ellesmere. Good information provided about local area including taxis and takeaway deliveries. Poor phone/data signal but can be a good thing! I'm sure we'll be back.

Lovely place

Lovely little campsite, small and friendly. Lovely and clean facilities and the owners are very kind and very helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay here. We stayed in the Jacobs Shepherd hut. Was so cosy and warm, everything we wanted.

Wonderful campsite

Colemere Campsite is wonderful. The site itself is stunning and big enough that no one is on top of each other. Dave and Ingrid are friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. They check in regularly to see if you need anything, but not enough to be intrusive. On arrival they provide a really helpful sheet with a map, local activities etc. There are plenty of toilets and showers which were always clean and fully stocked. The hot tub was a delight and well worth the money, and the fire pit is soon to be recreated at home. With easy access to both the mere and the canal, there is no shortage of walk's available. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful

Lovely getaway. Beautifully kept site. Gorgeous surroundings, peaceful & quiet. Hosts were brilliant. Will definitely return.

Clean and well kept

A little hard to find at first, but clean and friendly. Only downside was on the path by the lake there were some crying children (which can be accessed by the public). That is a bit frustrating if someone is looking for silence and peace. Maybe another toilet or ablution block could be useful as these were busy.

We are an adults only site, with no children are allowed. The children you heard will have been using the public woodland footpath. There are five toilets and showers in use and we haven't had any complaints of queuing.

Relax and unwind

For an escape from the noise and hustle this will be hard to beat. Exactly what we needed to de-stress and enjoy nature.

Highly recommended peaceful site

Very enjoyable stay for 4 nights in late June. They provided excellent weather too, very considerate! Very rural setting close to splendid local walks, with a good free map provided. Some pitches here are a bit sloping, but a good number are OK too. Select carefully. A very useful communal, rustic lounge with full kitchen facilities was a delightful additional feature. We would book again without hesitation.

Great weekend break

Great place to stay. Has everything you need, clean and tidy. Great local walks. The owners were friendly and a great help. Will defo book again.
