Set on a working cider farm, North Down Orchard offers an idyllic rural retreat, only five minutes from Crewkerne. Tent campers can pitch up in the large hay meadow. For glampers, there are five bell tents with proper beds, soft furnishings, a fire pit/BBQ and more. For the real taste of Somerset, sample some of the site's own cider, and be sure to head to the onsite Cider Barn on Friday for delicious food and drink, with live music most weeks!

My partner's stay was 15 nights in the end, thanks to the helpfulness of the owner, and he had all the facilities he needed for such a long stay under canvas. Thanks to the amazing location and situation of the site, a stay that had the purpose of looking after a relative stuck in a Somerset hospital made him feel as if he'd had a holiday, despite the serious reason for making the visit. We cannot thank North Down Orchard Campsite enough for the amazing experience.

Myself, my two sisters and a friend stayed in one of the Deluxe Bell Tents. We arrived on a Friday and there was music and food in the cider barn where the cider is amazing! And so cheap too! The tent itself was stunning, spacious and hosted good facilities. The showers are like a normal power shower and the toilets are clean. The kitchen area is great too, with plenty of drinking water on hand. The view where the tents are is very calming and pretty, lots of trees so felt very out in the woods. Hosts are great and greet upon on arrival but leave you to it after that, which we prefer. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Beautiful camping field. The owner was really helpful and the eco toilets and showers were excellent. The cider barn on Friday was unexpectedly busy with a really jolly vibe and even a band! Will definitely book again.

Lovely stay, pretty views. Orchard on the drive was stunning. The man who owns it was very helpful and showed us where to go. Clean facilities, lovely warm showers. Only stayed 1 night so didn't explore around the area, but what we did see was amazing and stunning.

Incredible placement of the campsite for exploring the area around, trails round about for walking also! The cider barn was nice and lively on the Friday night with delicious cider on tap, also available on the Saturday with a lovely pizza truck. Field was well kept and spacious, providing ample space to pitch, and David and Kevin were on hand to provide logs for the firepit and answer any questions. Brilliant site that I'd love to come back to!

One of the best campsites I've stayed at! Friendly and helpful hosts. Great facilities; so impressed with the composting toilets and solar showers. Friday night cider, street food and band were such an amazing bonus to our stay. My only improvement would be one or two sink cubicles with mirrors so you don't need to occupy a shower just to have a quick wash/toothbrush etc. Highly recommend this site!

Really loved this campsite. Friendly and helpful owners, relaxed vibe. The facilities were spot on, very clean and hot showers (solar) and great compost loos. Attention to detail and everything well stocked. Camp kitchen was great. Above and beyond.....will definitely be back next year.

We booked at very short notice for a 2 night break away with our teenage daughter and dog, and we were not disappointed. The glamping site is hidden in the middle of a beautiful working farm surrounded by cider orchards. We received a very warm welcome from David and his lovely dogs Raleigh and Scrumpy! The bell tent was very clean and comfortable with tea/coffee and kettle provided which was a lovely touch. Drinking water tap was just a few feet away and the field kitchen was close by and perfectly equipped. The shower and toilet facilities were great, the compost toilets didn't take long to get used to and the showers were lovely and warm and kept clean. We had lovely walks around the orchards and it is only a 15-20 min walk to the local pub providing proper pub grub. The evenings around the fire pit watching the stars were a real treat and we loved the company of Raleigh the spaniel, who was a welcome friend during our stay! We can't wait to return again in the future and will ensure it's on a Friday so we can experience the live music in the cider barn we heard so much about! Thank you North Down Orchard for a lovely stay.

Had a great stay at North Down Orchard would certainly come back. The owner David was very hospitable. We had originally booked for the standard bell tent but he gave us a free upgrade to the deluxe bell tent as it was going to be empty during our stay. The location is very peaceful and the facilities on the site were clean and comfortable. There is a bar that is open on Fridays but we could not experience this as we checked out Friday morning. We did buy some of the delicious cider and apple juice from the farm at very reasonable prices.
