The White Lodge is a family-run campsite nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, an AONB. The site offers grass and hardstanding pitches for tents, tourers and motorhomes, as well as a couple of bell tents for hire. Being a stone's throw from the River Trent and Shugborough Hall, you're perfectly located for fishing, meandering canal walks and visiting National Trust properties. Best yet, feel free to bring your four-legged friend along!
About the site
Situated in Great Haywood, a picturesque village with canals that borders the Cannock Chase National Landscape, this family-friendly campsite has something for everyone. Located on the expansive grounds of Shugborough Estate, the site offers grass and hardstanding pitches with optional 16 amp electric hookup, suitable for tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes. There's plenty of space for BBQing and playing games, and it's a mere five minute walk to the local farm shop and deli café where you can enjoy a slap up breakfast (and not have to deal with the washing up after!). If you're more glamper than camper, you'll be pleased to know that there are also a couple of furnished bell tents for hire, containing a double bed and a cosy wood burner for keeping warm. From fishing in the Trent River and following the canal trails to visiting Shugborough Hall and exploring Cannock Chase Country Park, there's plenty to do in the immediate vicinity. If you want to explore further afield, Stafford is a 15 minute drive away, Stoke-on-Trent is 30 minutes away and Birmingham is just under an hour away. Dogs are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times around the site. Campfires are also permitted but must be raised from the ground.
