About Shepherds Retreat Anglesey

Located in the heart of rural Anglesey, this family-run site offers a relaxing adult-only glamping getaway surrounded by peaceful farmland. Complete with everything you could need for a restful break from the every day and only 20 minutes from sandy beaches! There are three shepherd's huts available, all named after the four friendly alpacas, enjoy your morning brew or evening BBQ whilst admiring Max, George, Nero and Olaf in their field. Each hut is beautifully furnished to give guests a luxury experience, featuring a comfy Hypnos double bed with hotel-quality linen and storage underneath. The huts are fully self-contained with seating, WiFi, a smart TV and a fully equipped kitchenette complete with a sink, fridge, air fryer, toaster, kettle and microwave as well as all pots, pans and crockery. Outside each is comfy outdoor seating, and a fire pit for disposable BBQs. The George and Max shepherd's huts also come with a log-burning stove to keep you cosy when it gets chilly. The first logs are provided, any additional can be bought from the site. You will be welcomed with a complimentary pack of Welsh goodies, including Welsh cakes! There is also an opportunity to feed the alpacas included in each stay. The site has planted over 400 trees and hedges around the huts, as well as over 1000 trees across the farmland, you're sure to see a wealth of wildlife including a variety of bird species, red squirrels and rabbits! The site is located in central Anglesey meaning that you are only a 20-30 minute drive away from most beaches and attractions. Or, explore by bicycle as the site sits on the National Cycle Route 5. There is a fire pit outside each hut for disposable BBQs, you can bring these along yourself or purchase from the site. Sorry, no dogs are permitted. The site is also adult-only, so no under-18s either. There is parking space for one car per hut.

Facilities and amenities

Each shepherd's hut is self contained. There is an ensuite in each with a shower, toilet, heated towel rail and wash basin, complimentary toiletries, towels and bed linen are also provided.

There are small kitchen areas in each, complete with a single induction hob, air fryer, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and all of the pots, pans and utensils you need for self catering.

WiFi and a Smart TV is provided in each shepherd's hut. Goege and Max shepherd's hut also have log burning stoves.

Outside each of the huts is an area for disposable BBQs, you can either bring your own or buy one from the site. In the George and Max shepherd's huts a starter pack of logs and kindling are provided, additional logs can be purchased from the site.

Guests are provided with a complimentary Welsh welcome pack upon arrival, but if you need to pick up any bits there is a Morrisons Daily a 25 minute walk away or five minute drive from the site. For meals out, there are two pubs in Llannerchymedd, The Bull Inn and the Twrcyhelun Arms both just a five minute drive away or under a 30 minute walk from your shepherd's hut.
