About Fundraising Campsite

A hidden gem nestled just outside of Rhyl. Within a ten minute drive of the coast, enjoy days out at the beach or exploring the nearby Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, perfect for walkers and cyclists. If camping in your tent or tourer, there are 18 non electric pitches available, along with four 16 amp electric pitches. All of the pitches allow units up to 6m x 12m and six guests with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy some much needed peace and quiet. For those who prefer glamping, the site has a range of pods and bell tents available. The two cosy 5m bell tents come fully furnished, sleeping up to six in a double bed with optional single and bunk beds, along with electric. Outside, you will also have a shared shepherd's hut kitchen for cooking up your morning's full English. The site also has two camping pods available, also sleeping up to four in a double bed and sofa bed. Inside you will have a kitchenette with a two ring gas cooker, microwave, kettle, crockery and utensils. For keeping you toasty, there is underfloor heating, along with a clothes rack, storage, fan and electric. For evenings onsite, there is also a catering trailer with an undercover marquee and bench indoor seating plus outdoor seating with table and chairs. Have a hot meal or start your day with a fresh coffee. A small pop-up bar also serves cold Birra Moretti, a selection of tinned beer and gins, or just bring your own wine and enjoy it with friends! Dogs are welcome, but they do need an updated vaccine card and must remain on leads. There is a maximum of two dogs per pitch and dog friendly units. Fire pits and BBQs are welcome, though they are weather dependent and will also need to be off the ground with a grass protection sheet underneath. A number of fire pits are available for hire plus there is wood for sale on site. Please note, all electric hook ups come with meters so you only pay for what you use. There is also a field onsite available for rallies, great for anyone looking for a large group booking.

A note from the site themselves...

A friendly family and friends run site with profits going to help support the Pet rescue welfare association that we are part of. It's wonderful to see the beauty of nature with the birds singing, the woodpecker drumming, rabbits running around, and ducks on the stream raising their family. We are surrounded by all this beauty and look forwards to welcoming visitors to enjoy the site.

It's equally nice to see people relax as it is to see children and families play outdoor old fashion games plus it's a way of making new friends both for adults and children in a safe place. We welcome past and present customers who will become friends to our hidden retreat and it's nice to meet your four legged friends. Relaxing is encouraged!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2023

Very basic but everything we needed for a couple of nights away. First time camping with our 4 year old, lots of space for kids to play safely and the fire pit hire a nice addition. Super location, only 10 mins to the beach by car and a lovely little village with waterfall and café just around the corner. This is in walking distance but we didn't chance it with little legs in tow! Facilities are basic, portaloos and small pot washing area with bring your own washing up liquid/cloths etc, but showers had hot water and were powerful and nice and private. Easy check in process with lovely owners 😊 Recommend this site if you're up for some old school, back to basics camping! 👍🏻

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

A good hidden starter site for a family new to camping, we stayed after a bank holiday so missed out on the pop up bar and cafe. Site was not water logged and we were allowed to set up early as traffic was good. Toilets and showers basic and need attention as lights not working in 3/4 toilet so torches are a must. Hot water was lukewarm so did not dare have a shower, but looked clean. Quiet time rule seemed to work for most campers, nice location, out of the way!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

This site is located 10 minutes from Rhyl and Prestatyn. It is very reasonably priced. The pitches are marked out 12m x 8m on a level field and your car is also supposed to fit in the allocated area. As most people had large tents, everyone was a bit too close together really. Unfortunately, we were in field 2, the other side of the fence from a water treatment works. Whilst it is enclosed and doesn't smell, it does run 24/7 and makes a lot of noise and kept us up a lot at night. We were thankful when it rained and blocked out the sound. There was a fair bit of traffic noise from the nearby road too. The site is very basic with portaloos. These were cleaned daily but a couple were a bit smelly. The showers were in a tin box. The only shower in field 2 was freezing cold, so I went to field 1 and had a lukewarm one. My husband took our daughter for one after me and was questioned about why he was in field 1 and why hadn't he reported the cold shower. His shower in field 1 was red hot, too hot to stand under. My shower the following day in field 2 was a much better experience. It was a good temperature and powerful. There was one sink in field 2 for washing pots with lukewarm water. Small bags of logs are available to purchase for £10. They sell basics such as milk but this wasn't open when I needed milk for breakfast, so I just went to a shop a couple of minutes drive down the road. I won't be coming again.

Site's response

The treatment works that have cost millions are totally enclosed and silent, but yes, the nearby road is very busy with tourist traffic (we can't have it both ways). The showers are shown in the booking information and if too hot or too cold, they can be altered if it's reported (that's why your husband was asked if there was a problem & it was sorted as soon as he told us). Hot pot wash is free and adjustable. The logs on sale are larger bags than the local B&Q and cheaper and milk was available for sale at the cafe open at the weekend from 8.30 until 7pm. All this information is available on the sheets you were given on arrival. New toilets have been installed on site 1 at the cost of £5000, but access is also available to the campers on site 2. So, we are sad you don't feel able to visit again. Due to the added expense, our prices will rise for the 2024 season and the so-called boxed shower will be staying as most campers love them.
