What a great site

Arrived at the site to a friendly welcome at the reception by the site owner/manager. The staff couldn't do enough for you, and were always on or around the site working away. Which is great for security when you go off for the day, as we did. There was a mobile bar and entertainment one night of our stay that was absolutely brilliant. Everyone got along really well, other site users were all really friendly and was it seemed like the whole site turned out and were enjoying the night. Facilities were clean and regularly serviced throughout the day and that was the case for every day of our stay. There's a nice little adventure park for kids to play on. There is a pub 5 minutes walk away, but it does involve crossing a dual carriageway to get to it. That said, it is easily manageable with care and caution. All in all, not a single complaint about the site and great location for the hiking we did over the 6 days of our stay. We would definitely recommend this site, be it for families with kids, or for adult only groups.

Cracking Campsote

Really good park , everyone nice and friendly . Facilities are spotless . Great views over Roseberry topping .

Excellent site

Such a lovely clean site very welcoming owners very informative and friendly

Fab site

Fab site. Owner was friendly and helpful. Plenty of new plans for investment. Is dog friendly, has a kids play area and a pub within a 2-minute walk.

Windy wet night

This site has not long opened. Its location just off the main road makes access easy. It is near the foot of Rosberry Topping and is beautiful, but quite exposed. There are clearly a number of trees planted which will add future cover. That said we stayed the night of Storm Ciaran and had a good night's sleep. The shower block was clean and there was plenty of hot water. Overall had all the cavities you need and a good location to explore North Yorkshire/Cleveland. Offers pods and log cabins too.

First time caravanners

Very first time caravanning so kept it local. Fantastic views over to Roseberry Topping and Eston Hills. Site owner, Ged, was very friendly and offered his assistance if we struggled with setting up, but we managed okay. A couple of miles from Guisborough and approx 17 miles from historic Whitby. A fantastic base to use if wanting to explore all that the North Yorkshire Moors offers and only 6 miles to Redcar.

Good view of Roseberry Topping

New site under further development. Showers lovely. Good dog walk. Beside dual carriageway, so easy to travel in any direction. Cross Keys across the road for meals. All good.

Very good location with stunning views

Medium tent with electric hook-up for £42. Great location with stunning views of Roseberry Topping. The owner was very polite and friendly. The park was lovely, with nice clean toilet/shower facilities. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that I thought it was a bit pricey for one night.

Lovely campsite!

Lovely little campsite. We stayed for 1 night as a tester for our first night camping with our toddler. The facilities were great and very clean. The park was a lovely addition to keep the little one entertained, lovely view of Roseberry Topping. The owner was also great, welcoming and offering advice of what's around. We will definitely be back!

Superb family site

We are first time campers, so we chose this site because it looked like it had everything we needed for the night to try out our new tent, and wasn't too far to travel. I read the reviews, which were mixed, but I have to say that we weren't disappointed. The site itself is still undergoing some building work but the basics were of exceptional standard. The shower/toilet/dishwashing block was immaculate. There's water taps dotted around, and EHU too. We pitched on the quieter side of the site next to the lodges (which aren't quite finished, but look amazing). There's an excellent little park and plenty of open space for children to play. The gravel road is right around the site and a 'one way', so it's great for safety. Really easy check in and out. The staff are absolutely fantastic and there most of the time. The pub is across a very busy dual carriageway but well worth a visit. The food is delicious. There's a lovely walk just over a little bridge on the campsite and up through a field to a gravel path. We didn't walk all the way along, so have no idea where it went to, but it was lovely all the same. Plenty of space to exercise your furry friends too. (Keep them on a lead at the site). The only downside was that there was a license for music that weekend, but it finished at 11pm. On the whole, people were very respectful of the no music after 11pm rule. The site was very busy, so maybe could benefit from a toilet/shower/dishwashing block on the other side of the site too. Also might benefit from numbered pitches, so the tents weren't so close together (unless you wanted them to be) Overall, it's a well thought-out site that's easily accessible, and has the potential to be brilliant once all of the work is finished. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it (just check there's no music the weekend you are going if that's not your thing).

Family camping

Loved our stay here and looking forward to coming again next year. Good location, nice clean toilet, shower and washing up area. Kids loved the play park and we had a pitch right next to it so was great. Had a mobile bar and music, which was lovely and an unexpected bonus!

Not what we expected

When booking the site, no mention was made of a live music event until we actually booked in, by which time, it was too late to make alternative arrangements. Being in our 70's, we are not particularly fans of rave, trance or any other kind of repetitive heavy beat music. This has evidently coloured our review and we would not recommend the site to any of our friends.

Sorry you did not enjoy the event, Wilfred. The music was only a tiny snippet, we also had quizzes and light live guitar music. We do advertise on all social media platforms to make all guests aware when we are hosting an event. And explain to guests on arrival, giving them the choice of pitch to ensure they can be as close or as far away from the entertainment, as they wish. As we do appreciate not everybody wants to be involved, we only host a handful of events throughout the year. Great location and a lovely site

The site is lovely, clean and tidy with plenty of space. The toilets and showers are new and were always clean. Friendly staff and the location was really good - only 15/20 minutes to Redcar & Saltburn.

Very good, 100% recommend

Highly recommend, owner was brilliant and give all the information we needed. Gave us plenty of options on where we could pitch our tent and even offered an extension from the electric point if we needed it. The pub across the road was very nice, myself and my wife had probably the nicest burger we have ever had. We will definitely be returning, hopefully very soon.

Very happy

Very friendly staff, immaculate facilities, good location. Easy to use wi-fi, not free, but in my opinion I'd rather pay and get a decent signal. Only downside - a few thistles so you have to watch where you're stepping.

Lovely place

Lovely welcoming hosts. Pick your own pitch, very clean, excellent showers, washing up facilities and lovely scenery. Can't say much more but a very good campsite.

Lovely, spacious and clean site

A lovely site with good and clean facilities. Nice little park for the children. It is close to a busy road but you wouldn't know once in the site, although we could hear the road a little at night. The pub across the road is good and the walk from the corner of the site through the fields to Guisborough forest and Zog trail, was a lovely surprise. We had a couple of lovely trips out to the coast and we ended up staying an extra night and would certainly recommend a visit.

Lovely family campsite

We had a lovely time and can't wait to come back, definitely want to try the lodges out too. It was our first time camping here, lovely clean facilities which were constantly cleaned by very friendly staff, nice little play park for the kids. We enjoyed it here so much we had an extra night.

Amazing campsite

Beautiful park with very friendly and obliging staff, really nice pitches. Only thing is could do with is more toilets and showers, otherwise perfect. Highly recommend.

Very pleasant site

We had a very nice stay at the site. Facilities lovely and clean and well serviced. Owners and staff are lovely - very helpful and welcoming. Location is great as easy access to Saltburn and only half an hour from Runswick Bay which is lovely.

2 night stay with 6 year old

Could not fault the park for cleanliness. Nice shower and toilet block and pitches were a good size. When we arrived, we were handed some paper with site instructions and left to find our own pitch which, in one way was good, in another, I wasn't aware of any trails or where shops were or any local information. The back trail down the side of a field was overgrown with torn and nettles which needed trimming back and we had to get over turn styles with bikes. Play park was okay but the kids got bored very quick.

On arrival we allow guests to look around the site and decide where they would like to pitch rather than allocating pitches, as we find this is very popular with our guests, as some prefer to be near the park and others like quieter spots. All guests are also given welcome packs which include all site information and surrounding local area information, we also have staff and owners on site 24/7 to answer any questions and enquiries. We do apologise for the fields being slightly overgrown, however, this was out of our control unfortunately due to the severe torrential rain. We look forward to your next visit. Lovely campsite

Lovely campsite. Gorgeous views. Weather was awful. 29 solid hours of non-stop rain in a tent and still we laughed. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. For me personally, a washer and dryer would have been great. This isn't a criticism, just a personal view. I would highly recommend a stay here and will return. Thank you, a lovely family you are x

Lovely site, easy to find

Great park, quite a rural area and just off dual carriageway. The park itself is fairly new, but already had a few good aspects to it. The staff were available and very friendly. The toilet/shower block was well stocked and clean, may need another one as the site gains interest. Lovely little play park for our younger guests which was in eye sight, so great to allow a bit of independence for our children. Quite a few hard pitches, which I would have preferred, if the booking was slightly clearer, our patch of grass to pitch the tent on, was quite uneven and when the rain came, became quite boggy (unavoidable really). Also would recommend boundaries for the electric grass patches as it was a bit of a free-for-all rather than allocated space. Sounds like there are exciting times ahead and will be looking into the lodges to stay in when complete too. We also liked the loyalty to the local pub, with a money off deal for staying at the site.
