Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Stopped off for the night on the way back from touring Scotland.
By far the best facilities we've had. Shower and toilets are spotless. Grounds are well maintained and the pitch is perfect size. Wi-Fi is handy for the TV streaming. We had a lovely walk along the canal. Paul is really welcoming and the communication was perfect.
Would definitely recommend this site!

Second visit this year, fabulous site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 This is our second visit to Little Acre this year. We previously stayed two nights in June and just had to come back, as so lovely.
We stayed this time for six nights. Lovely owner, Paul, who is so friendly and welcoming. Luxurious facilities, super hot water, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner all supplied, plus cotton buds/balls, hand cream and even nail files! 20p for a 3 minute shower, and worth every single penny.
Lovely hardstanding pitches with water and electricity. Plenty of room for our motorhome, awning and tow car. Canal walk right opposite, which is great for our dog. There's currently work ongoing to replace the towpath, which will be great for future walks along the canal and will make it more accessible to all abilities. Site perfectly situated for visiting either Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Lovely pub/restaurant 5 minutes walk away; we ate there once and food was lovely and generous portions. The village of Milnthorpe is 3 miles away and all shops needed to stock up on food, including a lovely Booths supermarket which we frequented quite a few times.
Would also highly recommend a visit to Arnside, which is approximately 6-7 miles. Beautiful, old fashioned, seaside/estuary town, particularly lovely in the evenings with the sunset and highly recommend a pizza in J J Crossfield's.
Highly recommend Little Acre and can't wait to return.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 The campsite was very clean, with excellent facilities on site. Good size pitches with electric hook-up. The team were very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic stay
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 We loved staying at Little Acre. The County Show was on in the next field for 2 days and we were able to walk along the canal to the show.
Loved everything about Little Acre, top shower block was excellent and exceptionally clean. Our dogs loved their walks along the canal. The owner's were a pleasure to talk to and very helpful. We would definitely be booking again when we visit this area.
The Crooklands Hotel was just a short walk down the road, the food was excellent and very busy. Would recommend to book a table.

Facilities are outstanding with lovely little touches like jars of cotton wool and accessories. Great location, straight onto canal walk and lovely pub 3 mins walk away. Cracking spot

2 night stay to visit friends in the area
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Stayed at this site whilst visiting friends in the area, which worked out really well. Good site with average size hardstanding pitches and grass area, mainly for tents. Chocks on pitches where they are required was a nice touch and not something I have seen before.
One older toilet/shower block and one newer one, all kept clean. Good washing up facility and laundry if required. Crooklands hotel opposite site really nice to have a drink or food, but best to book as was busy all the time we were there. We ate on there one night and they were big portions.
Bus stops on main road 5 minutes from site going to Kendal or Kirby Lonsdale. Not very regular service, about every 2 hours. Best to check the 567 stagecoach service timetable if you are using them. We went to Kendal and last bus back is 17.10pm.
Paul the owner came to check we were OK and happy with our pitch, which I had specified when booking. All in all, a nice little site and would return again.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Fab site. Quiet and peaceful. The toilets and shower were so clean. Great pub over the road. A really relaxing stay. Will definitely go back!

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Great little site. Only minor point is that there isn't a little shop on site. Would definitely stay here again, the facilities and staff are amazing.

With there being a 24 hour shop less than 1/3 mile away, having a shop on site wouldn't ever be a viable proposition - plus, I wouldn't know where to locate one! Paul.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Superb little site we used as a stopover from Falkirk to Cheltenham. Friendly greeting, good sized pitch. Showers and toilets immaculate best I've seen on a campsite.
Excellent dog walks and 1 minute from the dog friendly Crooklands hotel. Great meals and drinks, will be back soon to explore more.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Clean and tidy site, well managed and maintained.
Pitched and settled before talking to management. Slightly sloping pitch but with ramps available. Toiletries available in showers, washing up liquid available and washing pods available.
Pub and restaurant excellent, but book! Bus stops available.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Very much enjoyed our stay. This is a charming little campsite with friendly staff and excellent facilities.
Only downside was traffic noise during the day, but think this was mainly due to traffic setting up the annual show at the nearby Westmorland County Showground.

Yes, whilst you were here, there was a lot of additional traffic, with vehicles setting up for the nearby County Show, plus, we had quite a few agricultural vehicles moving around silaging.

Very nice stay
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Small Pitch Sep 2024 We had a lovely stay at the campsite. One of the two shower/toilet rooms was freshly renovated, it was the most luxurious one I've ever seen on a campsite, really nice to have a shower there!
Paul was always nearby for any question. Super close to the M6, but still very quiet.

During the closed season, we're completely renovating the ladies' shower and loo in the original facilities block. Once completed, we'll be happy, as we'll have a brand new facility block and another facility block that will have been renovated from top to bottom. Paul.
Best site by miles
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Perfect. The people who moan about 20p for a shower need to be ignored. The cleanest, most diligently kept site I have been to.
We follow our son around the country playing rugby and we have stayed on loads of sites. This is as good as they get. I look forward to staying here.

Joy at Little Acre
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Lovely, little site with very good facilities, well thought out and extremely clean and functional.
Paul was a very friendly and accommodating host. Site very close to junction 36 of the M6. 500m walk to the Crooklands Hotel for good food. The canal runs right past the campsite and options for a walk or cycle in either direction.
3 miles to the lovely village of Milnthorpe. 5 miles to the town of Kendal.

A hidden gem!
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 What an absolute little gem of a place this was. This was my first adventure in Alf my new camper van and it was a lovely experience.
The site runs parallel to Lancaster cancel, which is a beautiful walk. There's a decent pub across the road but book early if you want food as it's very popular.
Service on the site was fab and the chap who checked me in when I arrived was lovely. The site is spotless and well maintained and the people were friendly.

A perfect campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 Excellent campsite. This campsite is perfect for caravans and camping. The facilities were superb. Very clean and lots of little touches. We met with the owner and she was very friendly and chatty. We felt very safe as a family camping for the first time.

Better than ever
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 The recent upgrades are fantastic. Great showers and loos, better pitches. This has got to be one of the best campsites I’ve stayed at. Only stayed for one night this time, definitely worth a longer visit.
