I pitched my small tent in a really great spot overlooking the main campsite. Wonderful views of the fells and crags. Perfect location.

Fantastic location, family friendly, staff really helpful. Toilets clean, only gripe is the showers were too hot and you can’t control the temperature as they are push button style. We were lucky enough to have several low flying jets passing directly overhead through the site, quite a spectacle. Would visit again!

Me and 2 friends had a great night’s stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food at the Brotherswater Inn was spot on and all facilities were very clean and in good condition. Will definitely stay again

This campsite has lovely views & easy going vibe. There is a shop onsite with all the necessities you need, pitches are perfectly fine. I would say that it is quite a busy campsite - at least during the time I went. Unfortunately, there was a group of people playing "drum and bass" music quite loudly until 10:30. Fortunately, a campsite employee had come by to ask them to stop. Other than this, the entire campsite kept to the quiet rule - creating a nice atmosphere. Although this group was through no fault of their own & I understand it may be difficult to turn people away, but I would just keep an eye out for "party" groups that wish to book. There is a 6 booking limit in place to mitigate this. All in all, stunning location! Peaceful once the group left & I would return!
Amazing place once again!

I absolutely love this camping site, it's the second time I've been and it's not disappointed. The facilities are well kept and there are plenty of showers and toilets in each side (male and female). The washing up and dryer rooms are clean and warm, as well as the heated toilet room! A necessity in the cold months. The site itself is in such a beautiful location, it's hard to believe the view when you arrive and each morning! The staff there are so so friendly and welcoming, if there is any issue they are there to help and do it with a smile. - The first time I visited my car needed a jump start and they came to help with a battery starter for it and did it for me. We had an issue with a blow up mattress we purchased as it deflated and we ended up on the floor that night, but the next morning we spoke to reception and they were so kind and offered a full refund or a swap as it sometimes happens. The shop is good price for what it could be and offers cold, fresh or dry goods, such as milk vegetables or meats. If you forgot some kit, chances are they may have it in the shop, so no need for a drive to the local village! It takes less than 5 minutes in any direction to be met with stunning walks and while we were there, we had jets fly over in the day! The site is 10 minutes out from Ullswater and it has great walls and cafes too. I would 100% recommend this site to anyone interested. The price too is insane for what you get there!

The site itself was in an absolutely perfect location, surrounded by plenty of scenic walking routes that are easily accessible. The pitch, while not massive, had good space for everyone and never felt cramped. The views were simply breathtaking easily my favourite thing about the entire stay. The facilities were also top-notch: toilets and showers were spotlessly clean and kept warm, which made a big difference. The onsite shop was well-stocked with all the essentials I really appreciated how friendly and helpful the reception staff were—honestly couldn’t fault them. However, I would strongly recommend avoiding the pub attached to the site. Do yourself a favour and either head into town for a meal or cook something yourself. Our experience at the restaurant was below average due to the attitude of the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. We greeted them politely and said we had a booking, only to be immediately and dismissively told, “No, that’s for tomorrow,” in a tone that was both patronising and accusatory. We were absolutely certain we had booked for that evening at reception and explained so, but instead of checking with any kind of professionalism or courtesy, we were left standing around for over ten minutes while they huffed and puffed and acted as if we were lying. The restaurant was practically empty not just when we arrived, but for the entire time we were there so their reluctance to seat us made absolutely no sense. Eventually, after muttering something about reception overbooking them but that they eventually found our booking, they seated us, despite there being only three other tables occupied the whole time. The attitude throughout was cold and dismissive and for the entire duration the male staff member refused to even look at us. We felt rushed, unwelcome, and completely uncomfortable. It genuinely felt like they didn’t want us there and were doing the bare minimum to get us in and out as quickly as possible. To be fair, the food itself was quite nice—but the service was so poor, it completely overshadowed the meal. It’s such a shame, because the rest of the site was so lovely and well-run. But the restaurant staff were quite unprofessional and unpleasant that it left a sour taste in what was otherwise a really enjoyable trip.

So glad I went with this campsite. The views are unbelievable! Great choice of where to pitch. The shop sold wood as we forgot to bring it and they even supplied us a fire pit to use. Plenty of toilets and showers. The gentleman in the shop was lovely and we stopped at the pub for one drink after our food, it's just at the end of the drive way. Perfect location, will definitely be back to stay again for longer next time!

Price: 8/10 💷 Location: 9/10 🏕️ Toilets + showers: 6/10 🚿 Staff: 10/10 👩🏼💼 Pub: 9/10 🍔🍺 Came on a solo trip for one night and was very impressed! The views from the site are stunning. There are plenty of walks to do that can be started from the site. The pub/bar was very warm and cosy, whilst having a good range of tasty food! The price was good and the portions were big. There's a nice little shop on sight which is handy. The toilet and shower facilities weren't amazing but nothing to complain about. Could just do with a deeper clean. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely come back!

We had to book last minute as the original campsite we booked on was closed due to weather. We had a bite to eat in the pub for lunch, checked in at the site and headed out to stretch our legs on the fells for a few hours. It was just me and my 13 y/o son for a single night. On checking in, the lady asked if we'd been there before (we hadn't) and then pointed out where we could camp, noting that it was rather wet in the middle of one of the areas - so best avoided (well, it is February). This was fine as we preferred camping up on the terrace with our small tent anyway. Site was perfect, it feels like you are properly in the mountains. There was a bit of noise from our neighbours at night - but not till late, so didn't bother us. Really good price for the two of us and we could book for the one night - rather than being made to book a minimum 2 nights.

I had no complaints besides a couple of people making noise past midnight, but that's normal for campsites. I'll definitely come back with my partner next time we want to do some climbing!

It was the first time me and my partner had stayed at this site but loved every minute of it. The views and location are breath-taking and it is relatively easy to access. The shop on site is stocked with almost anything you could need. The bathrooms were always very tidy and very warm, which was important to us because of the cold weather. The staff were super friendly and very helpful, especially when we had car troubles. There are many great walks just off the site and we didn't need to use our car during our stay. Would definitely recommend.

My best camping experience so far! Everyone was helpful, the wardens would pass through to make sure that we are safe and there are not problems around. The facilities were super clean all the time and there is a small shop available, with equipment and food supplies as well. Literally everything you'd need. It needs to be mentioned that the prices at the shop were very cheap. Many products were cheaper than buying them on the market. That shows a lot.

Nice quiet place in the bottom of an amazing valley, has an atmospheric inn with a nice walk up the hills right at the campsite. Staff polite and friendly with not too strict but reasonable rules.

Ideal spot just near Ullswater but also some excellent walks with ready access to high fells. Site was flat and well drained with good, clean facilities.

We stayed in late September, three adults and two 3-year olds. It's a great site, plenty of pitches and parking. The shop was fantastic - had everything you could ever need such as: food, drinks, camping gear, toys and books for kids. The onsite pub is pretty convenient too, although we were too late to book a table for the Saturday night. We were able to rent a fire pit for the night too, which was nice (although a rather surly staff member did come and throw a watering can of water over ours at 11.01pm - bit much! Rest of the staff were lovely). Overall, highly recommend the site. Will definitely be back.
