Camping pod

This was a great location near to everything. Only 15 minute drive to Ladram bay to use the facilities. The pods were very good and had everything you needed and well sound proofed. Only one little niggle was that the double bed mattress was on the very cheap side. And were the bunkbed mattresses. But the kids weren’t fussed at all 😁 Staff very friendly and toilet and showers were very good too. Will be revisiting. Thanks

Excellent place to stay

This site was one of the best I've stayed on. The staff were all very friendly and professional. We were running late for check in due to traffic and they called to check we were ok and explained what to do if reception was closed when we arrived. The on site bar had a good selection of drinks and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. There was entertainment on the weekend that we were there. The toilet and shower block is modern and clean, the showers have heat control and you don't have to keep pressing them every 30 seconds to keep the water on, they are timed to give you a good shower. There is also free family bathrooms. There's a park for the kids and a lovely dog walk through the woods. The park caters for everyone. The pitch's are a decent size and well maintained. It's an excellent base to explore the surrounding area. We will definitely be booking again.

Recent day

Generally, we had a good stay, clean site, easy check in. Car drive to Exmouth, local pub also a car drive away. We used the onsite restaurant with family and two of the party were ill afterwards, which is a shame as the food is good quality and generous portions. We were in on Acorn which is a long way from the toilet block.

Absolutely fantastic

From the warm welcome the moment we arrived it was a fantastic break. The reception ladies were lovely, the site and pitches excellently maintained, the toilet and shower block was clean and the family bathrooms were such a good touch - being able to dunk your shower hating child in an actual bath made life much easier. The staff in the bar were super friendly and the food was so good that we ended up eating out twice, which was not in our plan! We even had friends to visit who live locally and they are going to book and stay for a few nights camping (even though they only live 15 mins away) because it was such a lovely place to be. It feels safe and everyone was polite and respectful. The kids enjoyed some freedom, us adults enjoyed some sunshine - and a drink or two - and the dog enjoyed all the fuss made of her by our neighbours!

Spot on Glamping experience

We had a wonderful week at Castle Brake. We were greeted with smiles & friendly staff. The accommodation was very clean, as was the site in general. The pod was fit for purpose, clean (not a hair found considering it was a pet friendly pod) & comfortable. The pod had a full size fridge with a small freezer compartment and was ideal for our needs. The site itself was quiet and most, if not all were respectful of others especially at night. The pods are a a short and level walk from the shower block. The dog was well catered for too, with access to a field, treats & food to purchase from the onsite shop. Although we only ate there the once, there is a bar/restaurant which is accessible in the late afternoon and evening which provides well cooked (to order) food, substantial portions. The laundry room provide large load washing machines (not industrial) which was at a cost of £5 with dries being £1 per 10 minutes. This is our only criticism as we ploughed £5 in the drier and was still left with wet washing, but this said we could have put the washing out to dry had we the facility to at the pod. However, this did not dampen (excuse the pun) our spirits. We had booked 4 nights and enjoyed our stay so much we stayed a 5th, which thankfully they were able to accommodate in the same pod. Overall a wonderful, relaxing stay.

Clean and peaceful site

A nice peaceful site. Clean facilities. Staff are welcoming stayed late to meet us on arrival. The groundsman were helpful when we had a problem in the motorhome. I would happily recommend the site to others.

Family holidays

A lovely welcome from staff, when we arrived, good information given about the site and also about us using there sister site. The pod we stayed in was generally clean, though the mattress protectors seemed a bit old and worn. Would go back again. I think it would good to advertise you need to bring all your own pots, pans and cutlery as this wasn't very clear. The surroundings were lovely and peaceful.

We had a lovely stay, thank you

My husband and I came to stay with our 3 children in a trailer tent. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a friendly manner. As we were a trailer tent, we were put on a hard standing pitch near the motorhomes - which we didn't mind, was in a nice location. The only slight issue was we weren't very close to the toilet block and with 3 young kids, we were back and forth quite a bit - there were spaces closer to the toilet block. This didn't effect our stay though, we still had a lovely time, this is more of a friendly note for future families. The facilities were clean, we especially liked the fact of a family bathroom. Being able to bath the kids while I showered was great! We ate at the restaurant/pub on our last evening and the food was delicious. The staff again were really friendly. It was nice sitting out on the terrace. My kids especially enjoyed the chocolate sundaes! The park was in a good location, a lovely looking walk near by, we ventured into Exmouth which took 10/15mins in the car and took a boat trip around the coast which I would highly recommend. Although, there were a few things to buy in the shop/reception area. The shops were 10/15mins with a quick Google search, was easy to find. Thank you for a lovely break.

Great place

Great place, great food, premier pitch was massive, bar staff were brilliant, especially Sophie. Bad points were that the toilets were kind of clean, but feral kids making it a mess. The manager was dealing with them, but it was taking time and upsetting everyone else and were leaving due to this.

Wondeerful

This is by far one of the best sites we have stayed in. Beautiful settings, lovely staff and great location for local beaches. The site has acres and acres of dog walks and woodland walks, lovely restaurant and bar, great food.
