Clear filters Perfect back to basics camping in a beautiful location
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 My friend and I stayed here for the Aug bank holiday weekend and we love basic, back to nature camping but with some simple facilities. This campsite is perfect for that.
There is a toilet block, a couple of semi outdoor showers and washing up point. Toilets were always clean and plenty of loo roll, showers were lovely and warm. We both love the semi outdoor showers!
Jason was lovely. He dropped off our firepit and wood where we were pitched and had a quick chat but otherwise left us to our own devices. Not overbearing or intrusive in any way. The field is big with incredible views and even with tents pitched in front of us, we still had a great view due to the tiered pitches. Shaftesbury was just a 15min walk from the site.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 A lovely place to stay. Jason and his wife kept everything spotless all the time.
It's peaceful and beautiful with lots of lovely walks. Shaftesbury just up the hill when you fancy a coffee and a wander.
We'd love to come again some day.
Peaceful with countryside views
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Beautiful countryside views in a very peaceful setting. Nice flat pitches. You can hear the owls, church bells and the local donkey. We even had a peacock inspect our tents. Nice walk (uphill) into Shaftesbury and not far from the Two Brewers pub and playground.
Basic facilities, clean toilets and showers with washing up sinks too. It's a real escape from it all campsite.
Fantastic views
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Excellent location. Jason was lovely and very helpful. It's a basic campsite, which makes it all the more perfect. Showers are powerful and hot. Very good toilet and facilities available.
The site is an open field with 360 view and is a short walk to town. Gold Hill is a nice attraction nearby with a museum. Problem free and very pleasant stay. Thank you.
A beautiful spot with panoramic views

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 This is the first time here for us and we loved it. The views are amazing and loved the basic feel of the whole place.
To us, it's all about the feel and the views - we don't need luxury showers, bars and arcade machines.
This place is just perfect.

Surrounded by greenery, hills, birds and a welcoming peacock. We will be back.

Plenty of space between pitches and we loved the wild flower dividing strips that provided a bit of privacy.
Clean toilets and hot showers, couldn't really ask for more. Great value and will visit again.
Bank holiday stay
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 Picked Holyrood Farm as a last minute stay over the bank holiday weeeknd. It was great, spacious, clean and great facilities.
The owner was very attentive and brought a campfire and wood for anyone that wanted some.
A wonderful place

Jason and his team were there every hour or so cleaning the toilets and showers, and the toilets were never short on toilet roll. Lovely warm showers and big spacious grass pitches with a lovely vibe.
10 minute walk to Shaftesbury with plenty of lovely pubs and shops. Will definitely be back!
Great weekend camping
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 We really enjoyed our stay. The facilities were great and just enough for what is needed. Lots of space despite it being a bank holiday weekend. Jason was really friendly and welcoming. It was short walking distance to the village which had enough pubs and cafes for a few nights stay. Also lots of great walks and places to visit around. Really brilliant, we will absolutely be staying again!

Peaceful site walkable to Shaftesbury Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 Walkable to Shaftesbury, beautiful location. Not tonnes of facilities, but exactly as described. Loos never full. Loo cabin, rather than portaloos. Showers in separate block are a bit dark, as no lighting but just need to time it right. Very peaceful site with nice outlook. The ground is stepped, so lots of flat pitches and opportunity for every pitch to have a good view.

Great scenic views
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 Conveniently located to everything you would need. Great campsite with lovely views and well located for walks and chilling at the pub up the road.
Toilets and shower were as expected for a farm pop-up campsite.
Nice chilled and friendly atmosphere created by the owner, just pitch up wherever and whenever you please. We will be visiting again!
