Small Tent - Non Electric Forest Floor Tent Pitches (Dog Friendly) Jul 2025 This location is truly remarkable. It is immaculate, tranquil and offers stunning natural beauty.
The service is consistently reliable, the staff are always friendly and helpful.
Generally good
Large Tent - Non Electric Lake View Grass Pitches Jul 2025 My honest review is this is a generally good campsite, depending on what you like. When it's busy, it's loud, and not secluded pitches at all.
The shared bathrooms can get a little grubby. Also, it's under a flight path and while flights aren't constant and regular, the times the planes go over is extremely disruptive, going into the early hours of the morning. Great for families and serves as a good base for fun local places to visit.
Lovely stay - first time camping for my children
Medium Tent - Non Electric Forest Floor Tent Pitches (Dog Friendly) Jun 2025 Had a lovely, last minute stay and first time camping for my 1 and 2 year old. Staff friendly and accommodating. Were pretty much the only people there.
Unfortunately, my 2 year old wasn't old enough to do any activities and bike hire was shut, but overall, a lovely night away for Father's Day. My 2 year old didn't want to leave. Both of my children and myself loved watching the low planes go over as they were landing, a little loud but didn't keep anyone awake, so was fine. Definitely will be returning.
Pleasant stay at a well-maintained and friendly campsite
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Lake View Pitches May 2025 Overall, we had a great experience at the campsite - the site was well-maintained and clean, making for a pleasant stay.
That said, I believe there are a couple of areas where small improvements could enhance the guest experience:
I had reserved three pitches (2 non-electric and 1 electric), but upon arrival, I was informed that all three were non-electric. While I appreciate the staff's effort to accommodate us with a spare pitch, a more accurate booking confirmation could have allowed us a better choice of pitch location. Improving the clarity and accuracy of the booking process would really help avoid such surprises.
The shower and toilet facilities were clean and well-kept, but on a few occasions, the toilet paper had run out in some cubicles. Regular checks throughout the day would ensure supplies are always available for guests.
Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore the onsite activities during this visit, but we're definitely looking forward to trying them out on our next trip.
A great location in the New Forest
Large Tent - Electric Grass and Earth Tent Pitches May 2025 This was a great location in the New Forest. We had an electric pitch.
The toilet and shower facilities were at times crowded and could do with being extended. The site itself was clean and tidy. The cafe was basic but very good. This site is mostly suited to families with younger children. Would only recommend to families with younger children.

The house and grounds need maintenance, likely due to low profits. The café is small but excellent. The toilets and showers feel crowded and could be updated and extended.

Perfect weekend in the forest

The service was professional and we enjoyed the nature and the cleanliness of the whole facility.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding and Grass Motorhome Pitches (Dog Friendly) Sep 2024 Great site, took the dog for a long morning walk around the blue and red cycle trails which were deserted at 6:30am. Surrounded by trees which was blissful!
Signposting was a little confusing and made it feel like I was on a UK Youth only site when they clearly take the general public too. The lady on the desk was civil but I felt like I was inconveniencing her.
Gorgeous new facilities block. Could do with better signage & night-time lighting. As a single female, I felt a little uneasy trying to find the toilet in the dark listening to some very loud smoking bikers close by. I would definitely stay again if I had my husband with me.

Lovely environment Small Tent - Non Electric Forest Floor Tent Pitches (Dog Friendly) Aug 2024 Great location and grounds. However, not a lot to do on site without paying, but I was aware of that on booking.
The toilets were well used, so became dirty quite quickly in-between cleans.
I would stay again, apart from the noise. Between 9pm and 10pm, the noise from screaming kids, cars coming and going, people drinking and music playing was just about unbearable.

Beautiful but disappointing Large Tent - Electric Grass Lake View Pitches Aug 2024 Fantastic location right on the edge of the New Forest, with lovely parks and woods for the kids to explore.
Unfortunately, it's on a flight path, so noisy, low flying planes were a nuisance, and the cold showers and stony ground (bent quite a lot of pegs) means we won't be staying there again!
Good site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Lake View Grass Pitches Aug 2024 Very nice site, my only complaint would be that the pitches were so close together, we could hear everyone snoring all night. It's also under the flight path for the airport, so you will hear jets going over until midnight.
We had pizza in the cafe which was very nice. It would be good if the shop stayed open later than 5pm.
Excellent family site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding and Grass Motorhome Pitches (Dog Friendly) Jul 2024 We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. I was accompanied by my daughter and son in law and 3 grandchildren.
The pitch was in a good position, close but not too close to facilities. and close to the heathland which was perfect for long walks with the dog.
We signed up for the zip line and Tree Top Trail and thoroughly enjoyed both. Instructors were top class and the children were given full encouragement.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Lake View Pitches Jul 2024 What a wonderful place, we were able to relax and the kids wore themselves out! The bike trails were all suitable for my 8yo and my 12 year old loved it just as much.
Staff were lovely really great activity leaders! Beautiful camping with loads of space. Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay, thank you Avon Tyrrell!

Large Tent - Electric Grass Lake View Pitches Jul 2024 I thought the site was good, lots to do onsite. Cafe and shop, which was great, and being able to use a fire pit was good for the evenings.#
However, a bit disappointed with the mixed showers and toilets, didn't seem enough for the amount of people camping on the site and we found the older children seemed to be in there messing around. Would prefer female facilities separate to male facilities and a bit more lighting during the night to see them easier.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding and Grass Motorhome Pitches (Dog Friendly) Jun 2024 Our grandchildren loved it. Everywhere was clean and tidy and helpful staff.
Negatives are that it is on the Bournemouth runway flight path and they come in low! Not a major problem for us and a bit annoying that children on their own can't use the aerial runway, boats on lakes or the high ropes without either being in a party or pre-booking - not sure why, as this limits what single kids can do. Why not let them join a group or allow walk ins, I just don't know? Health and Safety I expect.
Family break for the Bank Holiday

Large Tent - Non Electric Lake View Grass Pitches May 2024 Lovely site and location. Big open field with nice lake and activities. Liked the communal picnic benches scattered around.
I didn't think the facilities (toilets/showers) were clean and they were very often broken/out of use. I felt they need more of them too.
We were told certain activities weren't on and then saw other people doing them, which was disappointing for the children.
