About the site
This site is situated a 15 minute drive from Oxford, offering plenty of attractions including the popular Blenheim Palace, Oxford Castle and Prison, the Ashmolean Museum and more! If you fancy a bite to eat while onsite, stroll five minutes to the Queen's Head in Horspath or the Chequers Inn, serving Indian dishes. Onsite, guests can choose from non electric pitches for tents, trailer tents and motorhomes only. There are grass pitches with an optional 16 amp electric hook up for tents, trailer tents, and some for tourers. All pitches are 6m x 6m. For an alternative to traditional camping, there are two bell tents furnished with a double bed, a sofa bed and two camp beds (bedding not included). Interiors have a log burner, seating, and a clothes hanger. Outside guests will find a BBQ fire pit. There are 4m star geodomes, sleeping up to four people. These include a double bed and a small sofa bed (bring your own bedding), a log burner, a mini fridge, a kettle, storage, a TV and WiFi. If you're after something larger, the 5m ensuite geodomes sleep five and feature a double bed, a double sofa bed and a foldable single bed (bring your own bedding), log burner, kitchenette with mini fridge, kettle, TV and WiFi. Outside all of the geodomes, there is a fire pit, BBQ and seating area. Guests can enjoy direct access to Shotover Country Park, a scenic spot with a long history (it was once a royal hunting ground), and access to over 100 acres on the southern slopes of Shotover Hill. Make your way to the top for enticing views across south Oxfordshire. While onsite, be sure to sit around the communal fire pit, hire a bike for exploring, or try out horse riding at the neighbouring Pony Pursuits stables. Up to three dogs are welcome to join you per booking, but unfortunately, they aren't allowed in the geodomes. BBQs and fires are welcome in the units provided onsite, guests are also able to purchase log baskets if needed.
Camping and touring is available from April to November, glamping is available all year round. Pitches from £25/night for 2 people.
